Dusted’s Traditional Hydroponic Grows

Day 35 post flip

Might as well show how they are doing. SB #1 is very nice. Buds are developing well. It won't be pretty by harvest time with the rusty leaves. SB#2 is doing fairly well for as ugly as she is. The Cream Caramel seems to have finished stretching and is putting out some nice buds. White Widow is stunted but is still producing buds.

The MagNifiCal arrived today and was put into the system at half recommended strength, since I have relatively hard water. I will only be adding it for a few weeks but maybe it will stop the damage from progressing.

One of the threads I am on (I think it was the Canadian thread) had someone promote their strains of fungi. I didn’t recognize the name and they didn’t have a sponsor title on their user name so I warned him about promoting non-sponsored stuff. Turns out they are a sponsor here. @DYNOMYCO. I emailed the company and discussed using it in RDWC. They say it should work fine so I ordered some. I’m always looking for different strains of beneficial microbes for my plants roots.

Are you going to be using it on this grow or waiting till the next one?
I will start right away. Might as well let the new beasties get established.

Plants are looking great dusted. Watching your thread led be to get some cream caramel beans that I’m really looking forward to.
Thanks. It is an interesting looking one.

I am curious how it works in hydro.
I think my particular setup is perfect for it. Bubble pots, not so much. Fungi and bacteria prefer a solid surface to grow on. This includes live rootlets, rocks, dead organic material left over from previous grows, etc. They also prefer a non turbulent environment so they can adhere. Remember, I have 15 L of pellets in each bucket. So that is a lot of surface area to grow on.

How is she smelling?
After addition of the CalMag today the odour in the room increased a lot. The plants are also praying harder tonight. I can’t tell the difference in odour between the plants yet. I do have a lot of air circulating through the room so that makes it more tricky

Good thing I have liquid cal Mag and dolomite lime for my soil. Sounds like I’ll need it.

Where did you get your cream caramel from?

The breeder is Sweet Seeds

Great to hear you picked up a pouch of DYNOMYCO @Dusted! Welcome to the DYNOMYCOMMUNITY

Keep us updated on how the fungi work with the RDWC setup. Once you grow with DYNOMYCO you won't grow without us again!

Looking forward to it.
Ari said to add the dry spores to my grow media, but my preferred method of application is an aqueous solution. If I activate the inoculant in warm oxygenated water prior to application will it damage the fungi?

DYNOMYCO was designed and formulated to be mixed into growing media or placed in the planting hole for optimal results. If you have a preferred method you would like to try out that's great however, we recommend the 2 application methods mentioned above. Using an aqueous method may limit the benefits because some of the fungi in the mixture may not make it down to the roots. For optimal results you want the DYNOMYCO grains to come into direct contact with your plant's roots.

It is important to note however that sunlight and heat kill fungi! So if you are planning to attempt to use our product in an aqueous solution using warm water would not be ideal.

Hope that helps :Namaste:

Well poop. I got the container of Great White out and checked the ultra fine print listing the fungal species. Sure as shit it has both of the strains that Dynomyco has. They are only at a tenth of the concentration and don’t have live propagates but I though they were different than I have been adding. Gotta read the fine print.

I got to thinking about endomycorrhoza since I have some more on the way and I didn’t know enough about them. First thought was to grow some in a grain mixture since the new stuff is only two fungi, no bacteria. Then I went, endo means inside, so it probably needs live roots. Crap. I suppose I could germinate some organic multi grain I use for bread and then infect them. Then again I don’t know squat about this. Sometimes chasing squirrels stretches your brain.

I’m a sucker for half off sales on seeds. True North is having a sale on Canuk seeds so I ordered 6 Do-Si-Dos to supplement my seed bank. Starting to think of what to grow next.
