Duggan Does Blueberry Twist In Doc's Gear - Two Pots - 4 Plants - 1 Kit

The smaller disk drives are probably all SSD that you're seeing. The new trend is to have a small solid state drive for the system drive, then put everything else on a standard SATA drive. It speeds them up significantly. I was messing with my brother in laws computer and asked about the splash screen when windows 10 boots as I've never seen it on my laptop it goes by so quickly. I think mine takes about 5 seconds to fully reboot.

Yes they are all SSD hard drives. What is a SATA drive and do they come with them already? I am sorry if those are ignorant questions but even with being on the young side around here I have not kept up with this.

That sucks about your computer. $400 seems high, almost buy new one. I need to get new laptop, that way I don't have to use my kid's, they don't like the old man using their computer. They think I'm spying on them lol. I have to get some help for my oldest, he's addicted to porn, I think that's all he looks up. That's why I bought him a blow up doll for his birthday, that's true story, my inlaws about shit when they saw it. Just done it to piss them off. Sad thing, I really think he used it lol

:jawdropper::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: I don't think Ole Rooster would have told that...:rofl::rofl::allgood:

A very great morning to ya gang! Thank you all,..Beaves, Gray , Gazoo, Buck, Yeti for helping me cope with this as i don't very well. That was 350 plus tax which brought that repair up to 399 dollars,...and yes , that's in Canadian dollars. They said it's a 1000 dollar laptop and worthy of the repair. The thing is....that money was 'marked' for many other things....don't forget ...i'm on my own here...it's only my pocket/wallet/ bank account that feeds us, etc. , so it's fine to just say "oh well" but "oh well's" not gonna cut it ...know what i mean!
Anyhow , i had a fit yesterday when i looked at the girls....they were in NEED of a drink and i thought i had water ...nope...had to rush out and get three 5 gal. jugs to give them a drink...was really rushed and stressed over it as Mare was on her way over for a BBQ and i noticed too, that five branches had fallen over on the back plants. NOT GOOD! I had to scramble and try and fix things. I gave them four gal's each pot!
On a good note , the colas and buds are really getting thick and the GR is filling up with big , massive Blueberry Twist buds. Boys go home today after supper , then Mare's coming over for an 'Adult' time before we both start back to work tomorrow. Pics coming soon,...i promise...:Namaste:

I keep hearing that
"MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL"
But its really the
LACK OF MONEY that is the root of it all.

My time however is priceless because once spent
its gone and NO amount of Money can get it back.
When a loved one wants to spend time with me its
really the most valuable gift they can give me.

I do understand how hard it is these days, especially on
1 income (right there with ya). Have found myself upset over
things way to often and the worst part is when I look back
and see it in a clear mind.

Also being BiPolar does not help, you may have noticed I disappear
for a time and then return, when I am down its very hard to understand
the world and it can be very hard to keep friends during those times.

Anyway just wanted to say I am sending you some good thoughts and
maybe even an angle or 2 to watch over things :)

SATA drives are the older style ones with spinning disks inside. They are significantly slower than the new SSD, but are also significantly cheaper. I haven't really shopped computers in several years, but I believe the standard now, at least for gaming and higher end, is to have the OS on a solid state drive for the speed boost, and installing the rest of your programs on the older style SATA drive which are much larger. I have a 200gig SSD, for Windows and important programs like studio 1, and a 1 terabyte 5400 RPM SATA drive, for all my games and files, and it works great for multi-track recording and gaming.

Thanks for the break down. I figured if nothing else if I got a new one I could just get an external 1TB hard drive to cover what the SSD wouldnt.

You're welcome. My laptop came with the 1 TB SATA. I got the SSD and moved the other one to where my DVD drive was. I think I've hooked up an external DVD drive maybe twice in the two years I've had it. DVDs are becoming almost as obsolete as floppy drives at this point.

:laughtwo: I still buy and watch DVDs. I havent had the desire to buy a Blueray player. I still buy Music on CD though and keep them around. i am not a huge fan of buying music digitally, it just doesnt feel right to me.

I have a simple rule on loaning money, you get a maximum of one loan at a time. Until you pay back the first loan, I won't even consider loaning you money a second time.

It is amazing how the perennial borrowers have NEVER been smart enough to pay back the $5 loan when they are asking for $50 or $400. I dunno why, they just don't do it.

I won't loan my sister my car. One time, 40 years ago, she didn't bring it back.

Exactly, few times I was in a pinch when I was young just starting off. But I always gave 50% extra for helping. That was being laid off with 2 little kids, had to keep lights on. Family and friends think you owe them, and I'm bi-polar also. Either flying or diving lol. Probably why I don't have any friends besides on here. People just think you owe them because you work(family) and have nice things.

I've drunk too many Stella's and still smoking . Sorry for the rambling duggs. Looking forward to the pics

Did she crash it or just decide to keep it? It is crazy how people will borrow small amounts of money and then scoff or get mad when you expect it back. If you borrowed the money it is in fact owed back. If you ask for it and i tell you not to worry about it that is different. I fail to understand how some people can feel so entitled.

Family is a big culprit but it happens with friends too. As i said people's sense of entitlement is out of this world sometimes. They do not seem to get that others have to work and put in the time to get what they want. They only ever see the shiny new toys, not what you had to give of yourself to gain them.

Ive got those around me that always want something for free. It is all the worse when they expect it for free and cop an attitude with you when you say no. People do not seem to realize how hard it can be for all of us to stay afloat. I wouldnt be able to work 80-100 hours a week. I have a full time job and my grow that is enough for me. Factor in life and family and there is little time or money left.
Some people just take it for granted Yeti. They always think they can count on you because you are family and 'obliged' to help them in their time of need when they don't try and do anything about it. Pretty sure a mayority of us has somebody like that in the family. I know my father's brother is like that, really ticks you off

Feel you on that brother...

10 days in and nothing, nada....no new sprouts to record.....I suck big time and so do my crappy seeds....it's over for this crop.....

On a different note, Rocky the yorkie is back for a 3 day babysit....he got dropped off at 7pm and so far have had 2 calls from the owner in 3 hours.....too funny that half the job involves counseling and reassuring the owners that the dog is peacefully sleeping at my feet the whole time :biglaugh:

Evening to you brotha Duggs and gang :-)

Hey Duggs we feel your pain on putting out cash you didn't count on using for that purpose, but, did your young man learn a valuable life lesson? We suspect that he did and that in and of it self is worth more than your earnings in a life time. It's all about the kids our friend, it's fine to be upset and rightfully so, we can replace our funds but, we can't replace our little ones. Does it suck your laptop got broken, of course it does, who wouldn't be upset? One day you can bust his balls and you'll joke about it, may not seem like it at this moment but you will brotha, maybe embellish the story slightly to fit the circumstances of course

Anyhow, have a great evening our friend, your blessed, go give that boy a hug :-)

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

Did she crash it or just decide to keep it?

My sister was 20, we were living next to San Francisco Bay, and she decided to go to Lake Tahoe with her boyfriend for a long weekend. His car was a piece of junk that couldn't reliably make the 400 mile round trip with a 7,000 ft climb over Donner Pass. I had 2 cars at the time, a reliable '66 Chevy II Nova straight six with 80,000 miles on the engine (an old lady car) and a boxy little tin can Renault 10 with 400 miles on an engine I rebuilt (a wierd person's car :) ) I tried to talk her into borrowing the '66 Chevy automatic with it's quiet, smooth ride and bench seats, but she was set on the Renault 10 with it's stick shift and zippy little, pick up the inside front wheel in a hot corner, swing-axle performance.

Because of a design flaw in the rear engine car, where the radiator pushed air out at the back of the 'trunk', I made her SWEAR not to drive between 60 and 75 MPH for more than 10 minutes at a time, explaining that the air flowing at 65 MPH caused a bubble that forced air over the roofline to land on the radiator exhaust grill- stopping all cooling. She swore she would follow that rule and the Renault 10 survived the weekend climb over the Sierra Nevada mountains range.

What my sister had failed to mention, and the family did not find out until 5 months later, was that she was borrowing the car to go to Nevada and get married (funded by her boyfriend selling his piece of junk car.) They decided any good elopement deserved a honeymoon, especially when the groom was trying not to be arrested for petty theft, so they took off for Salt Lake City and lived there a couple of months. Deciding that being a bi-racial couple in Utah was not enough of a challenge, they headed south through various deserts in the heat of summer. Somewhere in Texas, her car illiterate new hubby decided to set the cruise control for 65 MPH and ignore the temperature guage and flashing idiot light until the engine overheated and sent a piston and sleeve through the side of the engine block - at least that is the story my sister told when she returned home 5 months later, 7 months pregnant, married and without my car. (She left out the petty theft, but the fact that he served 6 months in a work release county facility shortly after his return seemed more than a coincidence.)

After their return, my distinctly pregnant sister and her new husband needed a car, so I forgave the Grand Theft Auto incident and sold her the '66 Chevy - which lasted her longer than her 3 year marriage. I went along with it, because she hooked me up with a good deal on an 1.1 liter Lemon Yellow Opel Rallye Kadett outiftted with aftermarket dual side draft SU carburetors that accelerated like a go cart to a top speed of 85 MPH. Even more of a tin can than the Renault, it was 1500 lbs dripping wet with no carpeting or floor mats and plastic coated cardboard door panels without soundproofing. It was a dream to work on, since you could see every part on the car except the inside of the engine and drive train. When I replaced the clutch, I picked the transmission up with one hand and slid it into position - but I digress.

My sister later married the man who sold me the Opel Kadett (still married to him.) Over 60, they still drive cars hard in autocross (parking lot) timed laps - yet I am the black sheep of the family :)

Good morning everyone. As I've said , I have been very , very busy and have neglected my journal these past few days! Thank you all for keeping things going and for all your kind words of concern and advise. Sometimes I need other people to remind me of what's really important...and it's my boys! It was very tough getting thru Sat. day having to cancel plans because of lack of funds but they understood.
I took a bunch of pics last night after the boys got dropped off but Mare came over and I was too tired to post them . I will tonight. Have a great day everyone....:circle-of-love:
