DrZiggy's Low And Slow Drying: Maximizing Your Harvest

Will do but if I have to wait for product to introduce her I'll have to wait for my girl to get going which probably won't be until February when I am a little bit more financially stable right now I am dealing with the disability board on my disability check and they do not like to give it to anybody so I had it before and I wound up in a tight situation of incarceration and in which they stopped my disability payments for my bipolar disorder so now I have been fighting to get it back for about 30 months now

*sigh* Do you have a lawyer yet? The system can feel out of control, can't it? Here's what I suggest: everytime you even think of this situation I want you to feel what it will feel like when you have won the case and the payments return. Ignore anything to the contrary, even if it means you have to walk away from a discussion. Entertain only positive thoughts about the entire event. This can be tricky, because life and those around you will often reinforce the frustration, but it's only because that's a reflection of the way you feel about it yourself. I have faith in your ability to change the way you feel about it.

When you grab hold of that feeling and make it the predominant one the case will settle in your behalf. This is a bit of cosmic law. You don't get what you want, you get what you expect. The good news is that you get to choose what you expect. Expect the truth that things always work out for you, and they will. They will anyway, because things work out for everyone, but we have this nasty habit of believing otherwise, which limits our ability to see opportunity staring us right in the face.

I have absolute faith that it'll work out for you. May it be swift. :hugs:

I thought some of my drying Carnival might be ready to jar up and start the cure, so I laid it out in the dark for an hour to get it to room temp and popped it all into a jar with a hygrometer to check my suspicions.

I'm having fun learning this technique. My perception is that the rest of you are too. :circle-of-love:

Would a cut out form a cotton t-shirt be ok instead of silk/cheese cloth for the lid in glass jars?

I wouldn't use cotton as it tends to hold onto moisture and not let it evaporate easily. 100% polyester might be the way to go for faster air exchange. Workout t shirts, outdoor gear or maybe even pantyhose might be cheaper, if any ladies can confirm those are indeed made of polyester..

Hadn't thought of pantyhose. I'd go with knee highs instead. They'd fit right over the jars, and they're relatively inexpensive in the dollar stores.

By golly, I'll have to give that a try. :high-five:

Yes I have an attorney and we just had final Hearing in front of adjudication judge and both me and my attorney are very confident that he will render a decision and a positive light for me so now I'm just waiting and keeping positive thoughts they say anywhere from now until December is when I will find out but I already know the answer is approved yay for me it's been a long time and my bills really could use the help.

I have some spare workout shirts, with the polyester material. Could probably spare one for my project. Guessing it would be similar to silk?

I'd stretch it good and tight. I'd suppose a good test would be to try to blow through it. How easy was that to do?

Hello and greetings to all involved in this thread! I'm a first time grower that harvested 2 healthy Cali OG/Haze ladies the Sunday before last (7/23), and I am drying utilizing the "slow and low" method after stumbling across the thread looking for drying/curing tips. So far so good I guess, I bought a mini fridge to dedicate to the dry so the door wouldn't get open as closed so much but dammit that's hard to do!! I started mine on stainless cookie cooling racks for about 3 days, then 1/2 into jars with a DIY perforated lid, and 1/2 into brown paper lunch bags slightly open on top for a few more days. The past 2-3 days it's all back in 1 Qt jars with no lids, and I take them out at least once per day for 15-20 minutes. I have been rolling the treasure around in the jars at least twice a day as well. I sealed a jar with hygrometer 2 days ago and it settled at 76%, and today tried the same on a jar and it settled at 70%. Obviously that's the direction I want it to go so I'm excited that it's getting there. Here's a few pics of harvest/racks I used after they hung to drip dry after wash and before they went in the fridge

Mighty impressive cola David. :high-five: Mighty impressive harvest. Such a thrill to get to show it off to others that can fully appreciate your efforts, eh? I couldn't be more pleased that our excitement lit a fire of curiosity under you at just the right moment.

Setting them out like that daily should speed up drying time for you. I'm sticking with once a week, or should I say I'll try to keep to that, since last night I broke that rule already. :laughtwo: It is hard to keep from checking on them. Lol! The process is just so fascinating. I tumble mine once a day.

I envy all you guys with dedicated refrigerators. I hesitate to purchase one. I have a strong feeling this may be the year I move, and I don't need another small appliance I'll be leaving behind. Thankfully I live alone and most of the fridge is filled with cannabis products as it is. Lol!

:welcome: to the crew David. It's good to have another lab rat among us. Wait until you try this product. Have you smoked any Cali OG/Haze before? Just wondering if you'll have any point of reference.

Hey everyone check in having a problem getting humidity levels under control in fridge here is reading any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thoughts so it's a white cookies feminized seed from crop long seeds on week 7 day 3 flower but one of the branches I attempted to super crop broke. So said sure t cut it. Trimmed it. Exactly. Now, where would the condensation collect in this arrangement?

I opened my fridge yesterday to find things freezing. Evidently I moved the temperature knob without realizing it. I caught it before any more than condensation on the jar walls had frozen, and I'm resetting the temps. Last night I dumped all the jars to be sure I hadn't frozen any buds, and it appears I'm good. Whew! Had I gone to bed without catching that I'd have found buds frozen solid by this morning.

I'll be more careful when filling the fridge from now on. Those buds are sitting in the coolest spot in the unit.
SweetSue, just to let you know, you can send me all your frozen nugs, and I'll rollem up and smoke em !!

Hey Sue thanks for the response and in reply to Kingjoe, I've put a couple of small bowls of dry white rice inside my fridge to help with RH, and i believe it has helped as most instances when I open to tumble jars or set them out I usually get a reading of around 40-45% on the hygromyer
