DrZiggy's Low And Slow Drying: Maximizing Your Harvest

If your room is 80% and you don't have a way to lower it to 50 or 55% you are fighting a losing battle!!!! You are begging for mold. If this is your situation I would suggest paper bags and the refrigerator.
Or rice balls!

Paper bags and refrigerator for curing? I thought that was just for the drying stage
If you are reading 80% RH you need to dry that out. Get it below 70% to help prevent mold. Move to jars only when it is below 64%. You can burp it down to 60-62%.

Paper bags in the fridge is for the drying stage. The cure starts when the dried buds go into the jars. The opening and closing of the lid, called "the burbing" is the real cure when the last of the chlorophyll is finally leaving the plant material. Lately some people have started to call the whole process from the beginning of the drying to be 'the cure'.

Kinda like how SoG (Sea of Green) is now being used to describe a SCRoG (Screen of Green) and yet they are two different methods.

Hi SmokingWings :)

Guess what?!
(You say what)

I have got this fridge drying down pat. Well my last 3 dries have been. From the fridge to the jar it sits at 61%-63%.

Thank you again for the help you gave me :)

That was my understanding so far mate. Thanks for clarifying it. I’m currently curing. Room is 80%, not good but I have no option right now.

At this stage I’m considering cobbing the lot to retain quality.
Hi there :)

I always add a reader that’s been in the fridge. So I take my bud from the paper bag in the fridge. Pour it into a jar at room temp then add a cold reader that is usually sitting in its 40%’s. Then watch it hopefully get to the magical 60%’s.

Another thing I got taught. Check your readers.

Inside your refrigerator it is much drier than that - probably around 35% RH. Fridge dry is a great option for humid regions.
If your buds are already dry - stems snap - then yeah you are ready to jar and cure. If your room is 80% RH only burp for a minute or so twice per day.

Almost there!

I was attempting a method I read above. Drying in a jar, in fridge, takes 4+ weeks.
I’m at week 4, jar RH is 84%. Should I change tact? Paper bag it?
I tried finding a "drying in the jars" method while looking on-line and so far the links are to drying and then once dry putting in jars for the cure.

In the jar with a RH of 84% does not sound safe.

You mention 'read above'. Does it mean above in this thread? Or does it mean in another thread or another web site?
