DrZiggy's Low And Slow Drying: Maximizing Your Harvest

I usually have a stash of water cured too for smoking out and about, fishing, walking etc
GF has discovered the benefits of low dose edibles helping her with menopausal symptoms, bad skin, sleep and another side effect - however she isn't keen on the flavour so the next batch of butter will be made from water cured
I'm even considering a higher cbd strain next run since neither of us need to get totally monged out

Thanks guys :)
My bags that are 7 days into drying are crisp. They grind, very slight stickiness. Burned nice in a joint. @GratefulBud do you think it would be wise to leave it longer before jarring?

My hygrometer doesn’t fit in the jars. Does anyone know if placing it on top like a lid give an accurate reading of the jar RH? I need to get some mini hygrometers

Have some water curing going on too - kinda regretting it already. Watching the colour and smell leave my buds.
And have a cob fermenting. All for experience sake

Adjustable calibration. I use a special Boveda 75% pad to verify. Narrow and Wide Mouth. On the Zone for $12.

I would recommend you get a larger jar or smaller hygrometer. 7 days seems too short and your buds may be too wet after sitting at room temp sealed in jar for a few hours. Watch out for mold.

@GratefulBud They are still in bags/boxes mate. I haven’t changed anything around yet. The bud does grind well but was waiting for confirmation from the gurus before I done anything lol thanks for the input mate
Right on.
The buds will feel really dry at first but that can be deceiving. Sealed in a jar with a hygrometer for a few hours will tell you for sure what the RH is.

Good luck!

After an hour or two a bud on table at room temp went from crispy to really sticky, found that strange! I know that’s a good thing & meant to happen. Was weird feeling a sticky bud that was bone dry an hour prior though.
It happens and it must be part of how it works.;) Have not figured out the why of it yet.

I check the paper bags and when the buds have that feel like you described I will put the bag on the kitchen table for an hour or so. Then I check again. Most of the time it is a sign that the drying stage is about done, maybe another day or three to go. Then time for the jars.

It's like a game of "Whackamole"!!!!! Too dry - whoops - still wet - too dry for sure - Nope!!! :thedoubletake:

I have 1 but it doesn’t fit inside the jar.
Even that with plastic wrap over top held securely with rubber bands would give some idea...as long as the vents are exposed to the inside.
Another thought...put the whole works in a plastic bag...just empty your weed into a plastic bag along with the hydrometer, seal it up...wait 4 or 5 hours and check.
