Luckily it's wedged in there pretty tight, otherwise I was going to recommend cinder blocks!
That would have been my only option. I had G, my G-13 in December tied up so much she looked like she was ready for disruption dismemberment

I'm currently doing this. Nearly week 8. Alot of factors and the frost was heavy before drought, but it's only getting better.

Hey there Oli!!

Welcome aboard! She is so mighty fine! I am loving that sugar and as us droughters know, it does only get better!! Love to see such a wonderful plant and know that a drought was a part of her growth! Happy to have you here. Feel free to post updates here whenever you would like or any info you have on droughting from your own experiences!

Where did you first learn about droughting and what got you to turn the corner and give it a whirl. Most importantly, what kept you droughting?

I like to try and mimic would mother nature would do.

Flowers do not like rain. They blossom and dry weather only improves a rose for example. Rain destroys roses.

I've also noticed how my plants grow. Up until week 5 they drank heavy! Then they started dialing back. So I did as well. In the past, I've over watered, and the pistils will tell you you messed up. Dialing back watering amounts and extending time between has really worked for me.

It wasn't until recently I saw an article on reddit. A study from the University of Guelph I believe that's really trending right now I noticed.

Then a few days ago I joined 420 forums because reddit was getting boring. Just saw this sub today.

Facts...appreciate your input! Awesome work on her and thank you so much for sharing!!

I'm glad you are enjoying yourself on here on :420:. It really is a fantastic community-the best around IMHO.

GIGI DAY 1 DROUGHT: TRICHIE SHOTS
+ 2 BONUS SHOTS-LEAF VIEW FOCUSED

Note:

Shed mentioned cinder blocks earlier because if you guys don't remember, your pot will become very light like very light and your plants, hopefully, are so stacked that they become way top heavy. Restraints of some kind are generally used. Mine is smooshed in the tent so she isn't going anywhere...that is until Onyx leaves the tent Sunday so we will see what's happening then!

Happy droughting and happy growing as always to all of our :420: friends!

Have you tagged the buds you took pics of and measured the angle of the leaves so you can repeat the process as you drought?
I did tag the buds, of course. I can not find my clear protractor is there an app cause I usually go by eye last few rounds but for this purpose I'll gladly use an app

GIGI DAY 2 DROUGHT: ANGLE SHOTS (LWA)

Morning droughters and those curious of the process!

Here we are with Gigi this morning using my new and both very handy and easy to use, Image Meter app!

Remember use the same leaves, obviously. I chose these 3 sets.

Also note...Gigi was very tall and lanky with big leaves so they hung lower to begin with..

Be back later!

Tomatoes don't get more tomato-ey if they are droughted. Strawberries don't get more strawberry. You know what happens? You get smaller fruits and less yield.
You picked two particularly good examples of plants that are improved by keeping dry just before harvest. I know, I've grown both for many years. Flavor, color and texture are improved, storage life increased. Droughting before harvest is a very common agricultural practice.

Hey Krissi!

Looking great, but you need to make a slight adjustment for determining your LWA using the app.

Below is a good/decent photo for where you want the points on the measurement to be.

You'll notice one part follows the stem, stopping where the branch/stem for the Leaf is.
The next point is right at the petiole on the leaf.

Hope that helps. There is a slightly longer version here!
:)

Ps- just wow...gorgeous plant(s) Krissi!!

Hey Spark,

Thanks buddy. Unfortunately we haven't seen Moony in a long time and that's kind of a good thing right now because this was a touchy subject for my friend. Everyone has their opinions and some are just stronger than others and take things a little more to heart is all because they value their opinions and thoughts, as they rightfully should!

Anyway...appreciate you chiming in and referencing some thoughts you personally had on the droughting process. You are more than welcome to discuss anything you want under the sun here about our plants.

Lmk if you have any questions or hang out if you just want to check out the great scenery we have built up here with all these absolutely astounding plants the growers here out forward pre, during and post drought!
