Drcannabi's - White Russian - Recycled Organic Soil - LED - Teas & Foliar

So did you take a Brix reading, Doc?

bobrown, Mg is needed for chlorophyll production. :)

Thanks Ziggy - I'm always afraid to add too much it will stay there for a while. I've been experimenting a bit with adding a teaspoonish to 4 gal of RO water to see if its going to help. Basically I've got some old tired soil from too many rounds of no-til. After this round it's going to be toss and mix some more for the next round. That should get me back in synche for another year or so. I changed out half my containers last fall. time to change the rest I guess.

Chlorophyll a = C55H70O6N4Mg <-- only one molecule of Mg

Hey Doc - Nice little spot in heaven there on the left coast. I've actually been there and went swimming in front of that arch! There was an El-nino and the water was like 75F ...

I kinda didn't like the fact that there were critters in the water larger than my car so that little dip didn't last too long. That is a freaking awesome place.... even driving thru the coast range to get there is a trip in itself, talk about keeping it green. Wooah buddy.. that's a green forest when the sun shines down thru the canopy with rays of green light all around you.

I was totally mystified on many levels and then I got to the Pacific Ocean for the first time in my life. I'm surprised I still live in Philly.

I actually got a west coast Native American tattoo of an orca in Portland to commemorate that.

Oh wait - It always rains in Oregon, right?

thats correct..1 Mg molecule:1 Chlorophyll molecule
but if Mg is missing or lacking; Photosynthesis stalls. :)

That might explain why my plants rocketed in veg, right from the seedling stage. This grow was the first where I charged my coco with calmag, and planted seeds straight into the coco after a 24hr soak. They grew like wildfire.

That's our beach too, nice brewery on beach too.

Cheers

Very nice Doc. Looks like a damn good way to spend a few days. Beautiful

Lucky man! I need to be there one day. I so miss the oceans

Thanks Dr.! I hope to improve with this setup! Nice view by the way!

Hey, I know that ocean! I think we may be attached to the same one but our end of it keeps getting all frozen.

Beautiful spot for sure!
Bob ;)

Thanks guys! The coast was truly unreal. I've never had an April trip that beautiful. Never turned on a heater the entire trip. The dogs just loved it. Ate too much and drank too much but am back on track now lol!

Hi there Doc - I'm catching up... and was reading this post from Canad420 - I've used this soil mix mainly for seedlings. You can use this product for sure but it will run out of gas once the ladies start flower. You will get behind what the plant needs and it will be hard to catch up. Best is to make a proper soil mix using Doc's recipe or similar. Organically growing canna you need to think about a plant that can flower for 60+ days ... that's huge for container gardening and you need to have a soil mix that has all the needed nutrients available to the plant and micro organisms for the entire grow.

You can amend as you go but without experience with your strain that you like it's not easy to foresee what the plants and mycos will need going forward. This is why we have created soil recipes. We add in amendments in spades so that there will be enough nutrients to last the whole cycle and for me I mix for no-til so that the soil will keep going round after round. My max is 8-10 rounds after that I use that old soil for seedling mix and compost. Nothing get wasted. Start over... round ball. FTW

Hey there Doc the ladies are looking super healthy... what's your amendment for the yellow thing?? I get that a lot and I've tried lots of stuff and I'm thinking <spit> Epsom Salts ... I know I know... wow I feel like biting off my toe just saying that but I have a plant in VEG that was showing classic signs of MAG deficiency and I threw a tad of Epsom Salts at her and she's loosing that yellow like overnight, and that was after I tried my usual EWC/kelp tea.

Thanking Conradino for the Red Algae tip. Doc still working on the Italian Amazon thing .. my friend is well in Italy so sporadic communications... she's coming home here soon so I will sit down with her at a computer and get it done and report back.

Hey Brother Bo!

Yeah, I'm going to hit them all with some Epsom Salts next watering. I def tried the EWC Seaweed too and it didn't touch it. MAG is one of the crucial elements for our girls so might as well go with the pure stuff!

I really screwed up and when I thought about going HB I tried to convert mid flower lol! I abandoned all my usual feedings and teas and just started dousing with a custom drench that has no way to thrive lol! Then I completely drenched with a foliar I was supposed to lightly mist with. Stopped the girls dead in there tracks and they've all suffered lol!

I honestly don't look at anything as a failure. Every mistake I make makes me a better grower. The results of this grow are going to be way under potential but it will still be better than anything in the shops. Going to get back on the EWC AACT train for the remainder of the grow and just let them do their thing.

Thanks so much for chiming in on the bag soil. That was my thought as well. I've only seen one bag soil that could get you most of the way through flower using organics and they discontinued it. Exactly like you say, all organic soil, high brix or traditional, requires a shed load of amending and a good cook cycle. Getting my recipe ready for the HB run next and I'm getting pretty excited. :thanks:

Thank you Ziggs! You are absolutely right brother. Without Mg, there is no photosynthesis. Going to hit them hard next watering. Is 2 tsp per gallon too much or should I stick to 1?

Yes! Please tell everybody. :thanks:

Yep everyday all day. Nothing but rain. Worst place to live in the entire world. Tell everyone not to come here...

You definitely killed it on your last grow Blaze! This definitely could have helped. Your attention to detail was admirable! :high-five:

I got an email from Paul at Budmaster yesterday and the checks in the mail! So excited. The newest tech available on the planet and they are starting to come down in price which is very nice! The Budmaster GOD-8 should be here in 3-4 weeks. Perfect timing for the Venom OG grow. Speaking of which, here's an update.

Venom OG 19 days from germination. So impressed with these genetics. Do y'all think they're ready for their first nutrient drench or is this too soon? They look a little pale but they've been that way from the start.

Here's the tent with some new seedlings. These three are the first plants I haven't trained at all. All natural! Back two are trainwreck and the one on the right is blueberry headband. You can tell the older girls are suffering from Mg deficiency. If anyone has a good recipe for a quick fix, please post it.

All for now my friends!:circle-of-love:

Lovely flowers. They look good from the heat stress over last week. Very frosty, great job Doc.

Cheers

They look fantastic to me Doc. Buds are getting nice and swollen. Now that you're back and able to give them the attention they deserve, I am confident you will pull off another great harvest.

Hey Bobrown Thanks for the heads up! I actually did go ahead and ordered Doc's kit. I figure the soil would be missing nutrients by flowering and thought maybe I could just top dress it. But its easier to just go with already tested and proven methods.

Dr. C Holy shit those plants look amazing. Fat and healthy! :passitleft:

Thanks MT, they aren't even close to what they could have been but it'll still be better than dispensary buds!

drc! beautiful!! :bravo:

Hi ziggs, is 2 tsp of Epson Salts ok or should I go with less? Gonna hit them tomorrow. :thanks:

Thanks Blaze! No where near the plants you grow, but I'm hoping I can pull them around before the finish. :high-five:

Great move on the kit Canad. It'll be interesting to see if I'm on Paar with my homemade brix grow. Do you have a Refractometer? That's key in checking the brix numbers. :Namaste:
