Dope Seeds Sponsored Grow

I've tried all the neem oil and garden safe w/neem....and then and then and then  they seem to be immune to everything except when they crawl across the nematodes, the nemos, as I call them, will attack anything that lays a larvae style egg sac:popcorn:
Yea the soap does seem to suffocate the adult mites... problem is they go from egg to larva to nymph to adult and somehow the younger ones are unaffected. They only have a 3 day life span (I think) so they are constantly replenishing their ranks. I've found the Bronner's does not affect the flavor of the bud (so you don't have to rinse) like Dawn would (they add perfumes to the Dawn to please the ladies and you end up tasting it in the smoke).

Now I definitely have to get some of those nematodes since, as you say, they attack the eggs (which is where I think my soap mix is failing).

Where did you purchase the nematodes, Arbico Organics? I noticed they list target pest for selecting the correct species of nematode but they don't list spider mites. Also can it be used as a foliar to directly target the mite eggs that are probably attached to the leaves? Hate being a pain in the ass but thought I'd pick your brain while I've got your attention.

That's why I said the one with "the duck" on it...it's the original "Dawn" that they wash all those oil covered critters with...it has no perfumes or unnecessary stuff in it...and it's not concentrate either.

Yes, Arbico is where I got them, 36 bucks for 1,600 sq. ft.
And I've never sprayed them on my plants :hmmmm: but you can, water your medium with them and then spray water on the leaves to knock a few off, and when they climb back up with the others, it will spread like a virus to all of them :thumb:

And I don't mind you picking my brain...someone should, before I forget it all

So what species neme you going with @MochaBud? If they work on mites too i gotta switch species. Mine only target fungus gnats. And your right... these freaking mites are a real bitch to try to completely iliminate!
The nemos I use don't actually say it works on mites, because mites live on your plant, not in the soil. But, if you pre-treat your soil, it works fantastic.

I would go with some ladybugs too, so you can go after the adults too
I don't know about the ladybugs, but predatory mites, and other beneficial insects will die with the use of nematodes, only downfall...

Guess I know now
Wont kill lady bugs or worms and such...

From Google...
Beneficial Nematodes. Beneficial nematodes seek out and kill over 200 species of pest insect in the soil and will have no detrimental affect on species such as ladybugs, earth worms and other helpful beneficial insects.

I'm sitting here basically not doing shit  and going through some old pics :thedoubletake: and I found a pic of when I first started and was trying to scrog a single plant in Miracle Grow and using CFLs...back when I was still in the closet :rofl::popcorn:

Need to add that to my media, it's hilarious  ...I've come a long way since 2007 - 2008

And I've never sprayed them on my plants :hmmmm: but you can
Challenge accepted lol... gonna have to try a foliar along with adding to my soil, I'll let ya know how it goes. Hopefully my chemical fertilizer doesn't kill them off too fast. :goodjob:

I love the idea of ladybugs but it just makes me sad they can't come and go as they please (makes me feel like a jailer). If they could leave when the food supply is exhausted I would probably be OK with it but it just makes me sad to find their little dead corpses littering the floor when the food is gone. :(:rip:

They won't live long enough to do anything :sorry: they live in moist soil with a food supply

They come free air freight in 2 days, so you can use them quickly, and can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks...after that :rip::rip::rip: but unfortunately, they won't survive in the open air :hmmmm: although, I have learned anything is possible, they may attach themselves to the mites immediately :hmmmm: who knows...they give you enough to find out :thumb:

I believe you can feed them watermelon or some such thing if you really wanted to, but they have a life cycle too.
C'est la vie
.
Thanks Em I didn't know that:passitleft:
Mocha, thats the same species I have. Have you ever had luck with the predatory mites? I was thinking of giving them a try. While I've eliminated probably 98% of these damn mites, I need something that will seek out and destroy the hold outs.
All I can say is you have to keep after them, until there gone. If you don't have a lot going you could sterilize the whole room :thedoubletake::thedoubletake: I've done it a couple of times, one time because of Septoria, and another time cause :hmmmm: I didn't get rid of the Septoria the first time :rofl: that is the hardest thing I've tried to get rid of, that's why I'm probably overkill on a lot of stuff, as far as preventative measures :thumb:

Or like @Emilya said...lady bugs :thumb:

And as far as predatory mites, nope never used them before :passitleft:

So I was in my favorite place tonight :hmmmm: okay well :hmmmm: maybe my second favorite place  and the girls have been topped and fed twice now, and getting close to an up-potting again...
I have a couple pics from last night and a couple from tonight I'm up loading, I think I marked their dates :hmmmm: anyway here they are :morenutes::snowboating:
