Doc's Inspired Help Journal Run By Gazoo - Blueberry In DBHB Kit

Since I am trying to keep this grow as close to Doc's style as I can I
have decided not to use the SCROG and only do some LSTing. Along
those lines I went to the Depot and picked up some more plant stakes
since I will probably be needing more.

Interesting fact the BIGGER Longer 24" inch stakes are only .98 cents each
BUT the SMALLER Shorter 18" stakes are 1.17 each ?

Sometimes the Dollar Store has them as well so will need to check there
for the shorter ones. I do love my Dollar store here is a picture of there
selection of trimming tools :)

And the new journals are in

Picked up the 1 Gal Plastic Pots a few days ago but after reading
Doc uses Square 1 Gal Plastic and can't seem to find any locally I
will need to order some on line

Question Doc do you use the Square Plastic for The Finish Pot as well ?
and what size. I should order them at the same time.

I use an equal number of square and round pots in veg....round 7 gallon pots in bloom. No problem if they're square.

If you're using round I'll use round. No problem.

Cool I already ordered the Square 1 gal plastic and expecting them to arrive before I need them.
Will go with the 7 gal Round Plastic as well so we should be on the same page

Thanks for the fast response, much appreciated

I see you have the same love for documentation. :battingeyelashes:  Made my heart skip a beat at the sight of the journals Gazoo. :laughtwo:

I love the idea of the water shop. Someday we'll all have access to such convenience.

I see the room is filling up. Excellent! You're doing a bang-up job. :high-five:

Thanks SweetS,

I am very happy with the number of people joining this thread, they are all great additions
with a lot of experience so feel this could be a great learning tool for Me and any future Rookies
to the kit.

Yes I see we both love the details :) I have to keep good records since my brain seems to
delete old info way to quickly.

Man that water store is great I wish I had thought of that. Its must be a real money maker,
looking at my running total card I see I am customer # 12,697 and that was months ago.
The only person ever there is a young girl who only seems to be sitting there doing her home work,
that place prity much runs itself. Not only that they don't even need to be open, outside coin operated
dispensers are in constant use.

Another point in the same parking lot on the other side are 2 more coin operated water machines,
and again they are always in use as well. Note the outside machines have a digital read-out display
that shows the last time it was cleaned and serviced, Never more than a week before its done again.
However they must use a lot of bleach when cleaning since its very strong at times, another reason
I like going inside the store, don't need Bleach in the water but suspect its only done to the outside
of system I hope :)

6 DAYS to Seed Drop (12 hr soak)

A little up-date on my cooking 1st run Bin soil.

The soil Temp has been fairly steady at 73 so added my Clone Tray Heat Mat
under the bin its just over 75 now and rising, wont let it go over 78.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Nov 5, 2017 - Daylight Saving Time Ends

Sunday, November 5, 2017, 2:00:00 am clocks are turned backward 1 hour to
Sunday, November 5, 2017, 1:00:00 am local standard time instead.

A Very Interesting observation

Seems putting the Clone Heat mat under the bin TURNED ON the process

As mentioned earlier the temps were staying in the lower 70s before using the Mat.
Once I put the heat mat under the bin the temps started going up, actually reached
79.4F when I checked in the middle of the night, Turned off Mat, opened it until temps
went down to 76F and re-closed the Bin, Did not turn the Mat back on. This morning
I checked a few times and its now holding steady at 77.9F.

The heat from the Mat must have started the process A little faster

Now you have first hand experience with the difference between a cold slab and a warm one.......soil....check.

Lets use that heat mat for germination too. Hour on, 3 hours off if you can manage.

Can do, Once placed in the Square (I hope) Plastic 1 Gal they will be on a 1 hr On / 3 hr Off
clone heat mat cycle

I did not expect the cement floors would be an issue as I have the bins off the floor on chairs,
wrapped in blankest around the outside of bin to keep any outside chill from causing problems,
Room is temp controlled and stays in the low 70's outside of tent

BTW 5 Days to 12hr seed soak

FULLY ADJUSTABLE TIMER
Can be set in just about any way you can think of

Cant wait gazoo

Time is going SOOOO SLOOOOOW and then we even had to turn
back the clocks

=========================================

Need to keep the interest so will be adding my home made SLOOOW
watering system later tonight.

It uses the above (post #55) timer set on a 1 Min ON / 4 Min OFF Cycle
along with a cheap Aquarium water pump and my home made 5 nozzle watering ring.

Takes approximately one hour for 1 Gal watering. The slow cycle allows the
water to soak and wick through the pot during the 4 Min off cycle, this really
helps reduce the runoff and keeps the added product were I want it, in the soil.

So, let's do this thing the easy, non-automated way with buckets and pitchers, cool? I don't have a watering system like that, and I think you'll want to copy what I do so you can have good success without any variables.

Watering the way I'm going to show you will increase oxygen to the roots, mainly because it happens quickly. Slow watering "may" partially drown the roots and certainly won't draw as much fresh air in due to slow draining. So, for this journal, let's stick to the analog, easy basics, cool?
