Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Merry Christmas Doc and gang! I hope the holidays find you all healthy or as healthy as can be. It has been another year of using the kit and trying to get my set up dialed in better. Here are some shots from the big flower tent over the last couple of days.

First my CSI: Humboldt Mendo Purple Urkle:

Next up is my Dynasty Pineapple Fields. She is a week out from chop so I am not worried about the scraggly leaves. She is gaining some color in her final days:

Finally is my Jinxproof Genetics 9 Pound Hammer, getting real frosty early on:

Happy Holidays to everyone, enjoy them and the people that mean the most to you :Namaste:

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Did you top after you put her in bloom perhaps? It is showing signs of photoperiod and/or "topping" stress. What I mean by "topping" stress is that when bloom hormones are happening and you top the plant, you cut off those hormones and the plant will go 3 bladed and even 1 bladed leaves after that.

What did the roots look like when you transplanted?

Rescue Drench bro.

Merry Christmas Doc and Gang!! Ok Doc, I don't expect you to answer today... its Christmas after all. I gave my Clone lady the Rescue Drench today. I think I may have figured out why this particular strain stresses out like this. And this could be the problem with the White Castle and the pinhead seeds, though I am not sure about that one. So deductive reasoning... if my timers both come on at the same time, and the temp and humidity are about the same in both tents... as is airflow... after transplant the only other stress... is the different light! I use a small LED on veg only, so no red really... and my two super cheap crap panels in the tent are "full spectrum" I put in quotes cause there is a ton of red. Could the change in lights, not only the spectrum but possibly the intensity, cause photoperiod stress? I really need new light quick! My first DBHBB harvest is nice and frosty but these lights are holding me back. The tops were all nice and dense but the lower areas, though I trimmed them way up, still a bunch of fluff...

Merry Christmas!

Yup! That could be it. Especially if genetics are involved too.

Working on ordering some parts... but man are there tons of things to choose from. And I want to put each COB or each board of LEDs on dimmers... so I can have a max of say 400-500 actual watts but it'd be dimmable down to say
around 250 or so. I only have a 2'x3' tent so that's overkill... but I want to be able to bring all the light the plants can handle. What do you think Doc? Is that to much overkill? Of course a setup like that... I could use it in a bigger space as well. So when I upgrade everything in the future at least the light will
Be good... maybe replace a COB or two and good to go.
My biggest issue is trying to figure out what configuration or color I want... All white? And add some red and blue? Gotta figure that out... then I'll start ordering and building my first light. Fun stuff! If I had the room I'd run one of those like you have Doc... but I'm pretty sure those cover more than 6 square feet.

The lights I built would work out real well for your space. The metal sheets I am using as heat sinks are 1ftx3ft and I have 3 boards on each. Running full power they draw about 25 watts and can be dimmed if need be (you would probably need to dim) I am using each light to cover a 2ftx4ft space and it seems to be working out well.

Hey there GY! Thanks for the reply.... happy to hear you're having good results with your lights! I'm curious... you said they draw about 25 Watts what their output at that wattage? I was looking at bringing the Sun! I want there to be more than enough like Dugan and Doc both do... would a setup like yours do that? If so, I am definitely interested!

Sorry that should be 250 watts. My 0 key sticks :laughtwo: They are bright as can be. I am seriously considering getting sunglasses just for my grow ever since I installed them. 500 watts worth of boards in each 4x4 section is way brighter than the 600 watt HPS in each section and the 315 cmh in each section. I do not have a journal but I will throw up the light pics again.

The lights look yellow and dull in the pics but in person they are very very bright and come off as white. My plants look more their natural color under these than anything else I have had over them. I can send you links to what I got if you want.
