Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hey Doc, with my grow here I've followed all the directions with one slight error, Brix foliar has never been on a good schedule due to when I'm home and such and the distance to where I am and getting to the GR. I'm wondering is that is a good reason for the lack of shiny leaves( yes, I'm sure will be the answer) but also the lack in trichomes at today's end of wk9? They just don't seem very.... umm spectacular. The received a GE yesterday and a SD before with 2 waterings in between. Brix has been within 7-10 days tho maybe 11 at most ever.

Well, Brix in particular drives the reproductive side of growth, so the lack of spraying certainly could be an issue.....but keep in mind they can take a week or two longer in HB soil and your trichomes will form. Make sure they get Brix every 12 days, judging from your leaves. I think they'll turn out fine.

I have to soak mine every single day the week prior to Transplanting. But no drooping.

are you in fabric or plastic? forgive me if I've already seen pics of your grow and don't remember....i see a lot of pictures.

Can you take a picture of your roots for me? Right before you normally Transplant.

I assume you're dunking, soaking and draining them?

Are the pots cold perhaps?

Here's what my stuff looks like today.....3rd run soil. Following my own directions.

I've definitely been leaning towards that though and hoping they want to go two weeks longer. By the way they look to the naked eyes is very clean and not cloudy and then the same under the microscope. I really enjoy the way they look up close that way. Anyhow, thanks for the reply Doc, fingers crossed they come out ok. Ohhh almost for got. Are you say to make sure they get Brix within 12 days or to go to 12 days?

If they haven't had it lately, spray and then spray again in 12 days. A little goes a long way, but missing it entirely is rough. They grow much better with the foliars.

Veg in one gallon plastic pots. I can take pics but right now none are ready for transplant. I did pull a plant up and noticed that some of the older roots are a light brown, not a bright white like the newer roots. When I drench I am dunking, soaking, and draining in the one gallons. Pots exteriors are 75-76 degrees during lights on, floor of tent is 75 degrees as well.

Doc and others had mentioned the instructions and how they were written and rewritten. I think part of the problem could be is that Doc has one view and experience with the kit and writes the instructions as such. I always felt they were ambiguous at parts and some finer details were omitted in the past. When I first started thinking about growing using Doc Bud's kit, I started at page one of both this thread and the "In The Lab" thread and compiled a text document full of any information that I thought would be useful. Granted not all of this information came directly from Doc, but the instructions came from Doc, which were my basics, and then if they didn't explain something I would scour my document until whatever I was missing was filled in. If it wasn't filled in, then I turned to this thread and asked my question. The new instructions are, in my opinion, way better and the mL per gallon of soil formula is awesome. These new instructions are great, but I think if they were open to editing and discussion for clarity that we could really come together as a whole and make them damn near perfect. Doc has his eye and the instructions are (I am assuming) clear as day to him. But we have to account that everyone here has a different knowledge, background, and different levels of understanding for different concepts. The support from not just Doc, but the rest of the gang is unbeatable. There is always someone here willing to help. But perhaps there are things we each feel the instructions are missing or something that could be added that would help everyone. I have always thought that was the biggest need for the kit.

I have just caught up with everything and I want to thank Sue for leading the charge to try and figure out what could be the concern. I think maybe your tenacity was misconstrued as a bit aggressive. On the other hand I believe Doc is here to help and his text may have been taken the wrong way as well. I can see how both sides text could be seen as combative, but I know that both have nothing but love for the community and they both want the same thing, so I am glad these minds are coming together to figure out the issues with everyone's grow.

I Really think, one of the things, that will help the largest majority of people not get so confused will be the videos coming on Docs site...
That coupled with easy to understand, super simplified, drench and foliar measurements such as Doc has done with the So much per gallon of soil thing. This is gonna get even easier very soon!

Does someone have a feeding schedule from doc himself that's current. I've found some online that is made up for others which are all respectful growers but not the doc himself. When feeding should I go - transplant drench then straight water then GE drench then staight water and repeat. Or something different

I'm just getting really concerned cause I've started new seeds which will be grown in 2nd run soil. The first run on this soil my plants got fried like some of the others and can't have that happen again. Last time I stuck to docs recommendations for feeding but may have not given enough straight water between and up potted to early as well.

I posted this in Duggs journal...

So Doc, to be clear, all through the grow cycle we should be doing: Growth Energy + tea, water +1/4transplant, transplant + tea, then water + 1/4 transplant, etc... etc...? Seems right.

You will do Growth Energy with tea, then water with 1/4 strength transplant, then transplant (same strength as GE drench) plus tea, then water plus 1/4 transplant, then repeat...

Thats exactly how I was feeding them as per docs recommended doses except not adding 1/4 transplants to straight water. And I used fabric pots. This current grow I'll go back to plastic and give 1/4 transplant to water in between drenchs.

Hey Doc, so I read somewhere, but can't seem to find it.. you said your Tea is Bette than any compost tea... so if that's the case, would it be possible that I could use that as a compost tea replacement? Say I wanted to use it on shrubs and flowers outdoors... would it act the same as compost tea, or better, in this situation ? Or would I be better off just brewing compost tea for that? I ask because I'd like to use compost tea at some of my yards (Ima lawn guy) to improve the health of certain plants... and using your tea and mixing at the house I need it at would be great. The only thing I'd need help figuring out is how much to use per plant or per gallon of water in an outdoor situation.
