Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Ya eh...monsters indeed! Hey Doc, I have a concern...like iv'e never seen! My three MK Ultra's are turning into ....well...they are outgrowing my plans. The concern i have is this, in two weeks i'l be away for 7 days, when i come back is when i was going to flip em.That means they will get a minimum of three more weeks of veg.Doc....right now the main stalks are like magic markers! Can these 7 gal "rootbuilders" and the kit soil make it? I always seem to run into problems right around 3 to 4 weeks into flowering .These are going to be big!My plan is to steak them with trellis so i can still move them around and i'l be able to "spread" them out to take advantage of this fantastic growth. One last thing Doc...They went crazy right after there first feed of energy and tea.Gave them a weak feed at 15mls of energy with 5 mls of tea in 2 gal's. distilled ,as always.I really havn't seen this kind of lush ,strong growth Doc...over the top:):)When i can i will post a few pics so you can see for yourself. Thoughts ? Cheers eh!!

I'm glad things are going well for you! From everything you're saying I'd say put them into bloom pronto.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

But...But... they won't give me over 3 z's each, if i start the flip now:( I'm still in the process of getting all the "leaders" i want to fill the space. They are growing so thick and fast! I'm pretty sure i won't get a whole lotta stretch with these girls.Alot of energy is going into the "wood" with super thick stalks and branches! There is enough room in my set up to get these big this time...just wondering ...will the kit soil and your methods be able to sustain them for 3 more weeks of veg before flip or will the soil need the recharge sooner than early flowering Doc? I really want to grow these as big as possible this time, since i only have three going, and not four.Your thoughts Doc?
Thanks!!!

I routinely get 4+ oz per plant in 7 gallon pots. Some of my plants are 5 feet tall. I often flower plants a foot tall.....

Do what you think is right. You already know what I'd do.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I don't know what to do! Im stuck:( Because of the "training" the girls have been getting...they are only about 16 inches or so tall with a bush appearance. Just not sure how long to let them go.Have you ever grown big plants and run into trouble trying to meet they're nutrient needs or do you just "up" the amounts of energy and transplant? These MK Ultra's are a quick flowering strain ,right around 60 to 65 days . Once again...thanks for all of your advise and pointers Doc! Cheers!

Well, you know what I'd do. My plants tend to be well fed. I'm going to be pushing 7 zips on a GSC tomorrow. It was about 18 inches when I bloomed it.

And no, please don't "Up" any amounts. Why not just follow the directions and see what happens?

If you have alternating nodes, it's time to bloom.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Thanks Doc, I'm gonna just play by ear and keep following directions like you say. If they appear to be getting too big before i leave in 10 days ...i'l flip them then! The last thing i want to do now is stray away from directions, since everything is going SO well! Thanks for the input Shotta! Remember though ,these are a short flowering indica strain and won't get all lanky like some of the more sativa dom. strains get. Never stop learning :) Cheers all:)

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc, have you ever used the HB 'condiments' to regrow a harvested plant? It seems to me that switching from flowering to growth using the NO3 form of N instead of the Ammonial NH4 for flowering, could and would be accelerated easierly (new word) done than not, no? I have been reading your past posts and journals here on 420 mag (incredible resource and THE BEST, imo on the net) the growth, no pun, of your knowledge and results has been logarithmic in growth! -Amazing..Again thank you and all the others that continue to explore and expand the knowledge and sharing your wisdom on the most incredible g-d given plant on earth!

If I was going to re-veg a plant I'd definitely use the energy product.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

That sounds like something to think about, at what stage of soil would be the best to reveg in-just in case. I have some growing from my 2nd grow that was bag seed, great first time not so good 2 time but they were 2 LT hempy's and very fluffy. But grow #2 was also in the heat of the summer. As I have seen just from up potting from 2Lt to 5gal smart pot. I have some much more resin on the plant in the larger pot. What really is amazing is. I'm not even in Hi-Brix right now, I'm in mineralised coco! Lol.

Having the minerals definitely helps, no matter what you're in. No doubt about it.

I'd reveg in 1st run soil. All the organic matter in the later runs swings the soil to favor reproductive growth, so I'd stick with 1st run soil, using only Energy for the drenches and Stress for the foliar.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hell hey now we are cooking! Just add trimming back for the soil to get even healthier and less sprays.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

OK so if I have this right I can veg for how long in a 5gal smart pot, of course up potting along the way maybe 4weeks before needing more? Then going to #2 run soil or higher and would be just doing better? LOL. Where is he down side?

Perhaps both of us had a toke or two? I have no idea what you're asking! :tokin:

I've never looked at anything from the stand point of how long I can veg.....I always look at it by how short I can veg.....Get 'em blooming!

I just vegged a plant for 12+ weeks in a 2gl smart pot...its all in how you care for them really. Now I would never ever try that with plastic pots. In the bags they don't get root bound, so let them rip bro.

It looks happy to me :)

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

That's what I have done in the past, let them build one hell off a root system in either air pots or smart pots. Doc the only reason I ask about vegging is because I have topped this thing so many times and want to make it stretch out spread out only about 2"-3" tall right now. Lol
Plus supposed to be 100% Indica

Pot size will determine how big that plant gets bro. Had I transplanted that plant into something bigger, it would be out of control. I kept it in the small pot to make sure I could have the plant size I wanted when it came time to flower.
