Thank you for the warm welcomes, everyone. Doc, I saw your email address in the profile but didn't want to break high brix etiquette protocol by sending unsolicited email. I'm glad I can focus on keeping my posts relevant instead of racking up 50 low content posts.

I have been digging around many older high brix journals. Duggan, I am ashamed to say that I hadn't started any of yours. That mistake will be remedied immediately. It's intimidating as I always read threads cover to cover. I appreciate that you have so many journals in your sig and will begin reading them today one by one starting from your first.

I am getting overly prepared before I start the kit. I've never done a tent grow or soil and I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to "mise en place" but the results tend to justify the slow means.

I will force myself out of my comfort zone and digitally chronicle my grow when the day finally comes. I have seen the level of camaraderie and help offered to aspirants of the kit and am confident advice will be readily available if/when I need it. My first journal will be a fast finishing strain to get the feel for the kit. After that my studies will be focused on land race strains plus an experiment with some 10+ year old afpak x (afpak x texada timewarp) beans that I have had trouble germinating. I think they'll thrive in the kit if I can pop them.

Sorry for clogging up your q and a with this text wall of no questions, Doc. I really appreciate the warm welcomes and am excited to be a part of this revolution.

You're always welcome to post here! And I have no doubt the loose association of misfits and ne'er-do-wells that comprise the "gang" of High Brix growers will always be happy to help you any way we can!

refering to purple stems a few pages bck

This is the White Widow clone I got a few weeks back at the time she was around 6 weeks from cut.
She always has purple stems, until early flower they start to green up
Klone King has kept this strain going clone of clone for 6 years 24/0 cfl's
she is now in 3+ weeks 12/12 and I tested her today at 12 brix (non kit soil)
She's one lanky lady with long spaces between nodes

Good morning!!

Last night modified the room. Installed 6.7mil mylar to help with getting light to lower canopy, and made room for another row on next grow. The girls seem happy with all that DBHBB soil. Brixxed'em last night as well.

I'm growing these ones out without topping to get an idea of what these strains natural tendencies are. Should I be thinking of thinning the lowers more than I have when I took cuttings?

How many watts are those lights, DL?

They are 600w HPS each. I have 2 more 525w led Nextlights that I will install when I add another row of plants, but I really need to install a split AC before I do this, as I need to exhaust the room when I run them, defeating the Co2 I'm running. This setup keeps my room approximately 82*F lights on, and 69*F lights off.

Cooling the hoods lets me run them a lot closer to the tops...The Lux meter show 25k to 45k in the plant canopy. Probable could run them closer with the Co2.
