Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Mine was 44% the last 2-3 days, and today was 63%. I monitor it constantly and make some feeble efforts sometimes that seem to rarely have the effect I desire. Then when things seem hopelessly out of whack, something will happen and it teeters back into the zone.

I suppose it's just some karma for the effort...lol

 Good lord, so you worry about the same things I worry about....too frigging funny...then, I will get it to my wholesaler and his comment will be.....'Dang what a run that crop was.......' Who knew, I am always gobsmacked.....

Thanks for sharing.....

Dang, Doc; a six minute response time.....as a business person, I'm floored....this was first run soil....I am a fanatic about new promix and just ordered amendment X 2....so check....it's a bit dry here in the middle of winter....RH 40%, too low, eh....? I know.....environment..... so I suck again....

If it's fresh, then the problem is with the environment or water. It happens. Low temps give a certain set of problems, high temps another, ditto rH.

I really like these computerish Greenhouse Controllers. Mine's a....dang, I forgot! I totally know this and I just can't remember the damn name! I just smoked half a J of Skywalker. Well, Titan makes one and I'm sure there's a few others. Mine works just fine, so I haven't looked for a new one in a long time.

Plugged into is:

AC (set on full cool with autorestart)
Heater
Humidifier
Co2
I set a De-humidifier to 50 or 60, depending and let it run stand alone. I can almost water the entire crop with nothing but AC runoff.

It's got a microprocessor on board, so you set the parameters you desire and it does the rest. It's hard to miss, provided your BTU's are adequate along with the humidity stuff.

Thanks Doc (and 36gr0w) . I was wondering if the Titans were worth it at their reasonable price.

Some of those controllers are way spendy!

Zig, I've had foxtailing a few times and the env conditions were on point each time. I don't think it's only stress-related (though that certainly could be a contributor), but could also be genetic. If not intrinsic to a specific strain, then perhaps to that specific phenotype. I also have not seen any difference in flowering cycle with those that did foxtail.

What you're describing there will in no way result in High Brix. Too much K....Dolomite (no bueno) and non-optimal sources of calcium. It might very well be a nice organic mix, but it will not produce High Brix.

ok thanks again , i ordered one of them little meters last night so ill have a go then adjust a few things ,

My RH is at 20 percent and there's really nothing I can do to raise it besides fill my humidifier 3x a day lol.

My plants still look good but I can tell they need more humidity :(

I toss plants like that in the trash several times a month. Clones get tossed a few times a week.

that's the way to go perpetual.....harvest one and put another in its place right now.

There was nothing wrong with those plants at all, and they would have bloomed really well....just no room.
I used to be conservative with clones and plants but after tossing a few it's not stressful anymore. Now it's the quest for more room lol.

Culling plants is good gardening. A sick plant can become a mite/mold factory. Get 'em out of there pronto. It happens to the best.

I don't like throwing large, perfect plants away like that because it's fun...well, actually it is fun. but I do it 'cuz there's no room.
