Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc I seen this on Instagram

So awesome,

Any tips on keeping them that healthy when they get that big

I have been trying to get massive roots before I put them in flower seems once I get to a certain size they fade off

I do rescues they recover slightly but never get back to the fake looking plant, if I upcan then rescue they recover

And get shiny again

If I get a chance I'll grab some pics I am battling this on a couple of plants now prob going to up can them next

time they dry put

Rescue was done on Friday

Another question I have is you posted(I think it was you I can't find the post now)not to top before 5 nodes high and 5

bladed leaves or plants will not produce as well and will have slow metabolism.

Long story short I did top too early before I seen the post and the plants was slow and did not produce well

Will this carry over from gen to gen? I take my clones the same as you and do not keep a mother

Thanks

:Namaste:

Roots.

Grow them like that with the wet/dry cycle. Soak them good, drenches at double strength like I've said many times.

As for topping a plant before it's ready.....I'd reveg at 24 hours for a while and see if you can get proper 5-7 bladed leaves again.

Re: posting shit like that has consequences doc:

also what kind of light is that vegged under? i feel like a t5 wont give me stems like that.

i topped doc styles this time and its going well but they look about 1/3 that thick after about 8 weeks under a t5.

fwiw i'm planning to take that t5 out and replace with a 315w cmh.

would more air blowing on them help? i mean i have great air movement but its much more stratified and not particularly windy on my plants.

They have a fan blowing directly on them at all times. These are vegged under Advanced Diamond XTE 5w Cree thingies. Each lite is covering a 2x4 tray. Lot's of light is helpful for sure.

Hello everyone, getting ready to crack some dynasty birds of paradise seeds in my first soil kit and wondering if anyone has advice for obtaining maximum female ratio using kit? I plan to keep 1 gallon pot moist the first 4 weeks rather than allow soil to dry, air humid and cool, t-5 lights, air circulation and filtered air in with power exhaust. Instructions seem to vary a bit starting in solos or 1 gallon pots and the use of trans at 1/4 strength . Also wondering if anyone see's any difference in stretch in veg compared to say coco. I have 7 foot hgt in tent and considering plan B ; start and mom in automated drip coco and take cuts and flower in kit soil.

I only pop seeds with volcano shape ends. Those are like 96% females.

Thanks for the reply

I veg at 18/6
80-82f day 65-68f night
50-60% humidity

I have 2 mars hydro 300 over about a 2x4 area

I do follow the Veg Water tech as you instruct, I may just be under feeding, last time I did a GE drench I mixed up 2 gallons of water each gallon had 1 ml of tea, 4ml of transplant and 10ml of Growth Energy and dunked the plants in a 5gallon bucket held them under till no more air bubbles came up then tilted and drained of the excess.

My stems are strong and I can get them back on track when I upcan and do a rescue just looking to get even better

This is a Super Silver Haze that is 8 weeks in veg it had the above feeding then after it was dry and still fading I did a rescue on Thursday waiting for it to dry out

:thumb:Thats pretty cut and dry! Always looking for an angle to coax the feminine side and it seems instructions evolve a bit like if and how much trans to use initially. Ive read 1 oz, 1/2 oz trans , and plain water. Sticking with docs 1/4 trans in 1 gall pots and wifes favorite country music to coax the girls to the show.

Highpotanoose, love the user name! You could've even ended it with nutes or noots.

I am new to the kit, still I'm wondering why you have GE and trans in one drench.

Haha thanks

It is in the instructions that some growers add trans at every watering at 1/4 strength for increased resin production

I guess 4ml is more than 1/4 trans....my bad.:tokin:

That is doubling it due to the dunking
If I top water or add the whole gallon I only add 2 ml trans usally on when they are in 7 gal cans

there are approximately(actually 29.5 ml) 30 ml /oz.

1/4 would be 7-8ml..

:Namaste:

If I understand that would be in 5 gallons of H20, I divide 30x4=7.5 then divide 7.5x4=1.875 per gallon I round up to 2
I may be misinterpting, please correct me if I am wrong
:Namaste:

Thanks everyone

7.5/5 =1.5 ml/gal ; 1-2ml is fine..

About those roots, I'm going to use rigid pots for my next veg. I read something Tard said awhile ago about roots in a fabric pot that get eaten (more to the story but that's the jist), that being said it would make sense to not air prune during veg. I don't need extra O2 during veg when the tech of drying out pots is in place. That and the fact that I keep my soil airy and not compacted during early veg. More soil has to be added later due to compaction but the roots stay super airy at the beginning of root development. Is this an incorrect observation? Doc always has badass roots in those plastic pots.

Now, for double strength dunking, I use a small bucket for my 1 gal pots. I use enough water to almost reach the top of my soil, almost all of the water is sucked up. The double strength would be for a larger amount of water left after the dunk. I am trying to be most conservative with as little waste as possible. Is it the double strength part of the trick for "Doc" roots? My root balls looked just like those of Highpotanoose.

I've gone to vegging in solid 1 gal pots in my last 3 grows (actually they're #1's or .8 gal) and after a few weeks they've gotten rootbound and quite solid too. I've still not gotten the level of actual plant growth doc gets after 8 weeks, and I'm sure it's also because 70% of my plants are all from seed since I only clone every other grow or so. It just takes a little longer from seed I've found.

But I am a big fan of using solid plastic pots for early veg now and personally recommend it to the few guys I'm helping get started too.

I have been suspect of the fabric pots in veg and started one in a plastic pot for comparison

I have about a half a gallon left after I water/drench 2 plants in veg

Hey Gov. , yes me too, i have been using #1's as well for a long time now and prefer them to solos or the like. Cheers .
