Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I hope this comes out right. If the picture is the wrong orientation my apologies. I'm on day 48 veg. My two Aurora Indica's look ok but the freebie ( the Sativa looking one) has really strong purple stems and the leaves seems to be showing some kind of deficiency.

I started my foliars and GE late in the game at about week 6. This is what they look like now:

So you have used just the pro-mix up until now? Those plants were 6 weeks out with no other goodies? Did those plants just get dunked/watered?

Hey Gaffle,

I have been using my cooked soil and water with light transplant. I just had my first GE drench on Monday and have been alternating GE, water, transplant since then. I also started brix spraying once weekly and they have been doing better, it's just that Sativa looking plant that has me worried.

Thanks for the reply my dude.

Have you checked for pests? They appear over-watered to me which can also be root problems.
The one that is most yellow looks very indica to me.

Hey Major,

The one on the right is the once I'm concerned about. The two on the left are both Aurora Indica and seem to be doing well (those two were dry and watered today). Here is a close up of one of the large leaves on the plant on the right.

I have checked for pest and don't see anything.

Here is another of that plant out of the tent

Imho your girl is root bound BAD. IF she were mine I would cut her outta that pot asap and transplant. Also make sure you have drainage sometimes the holes on the botttom of a container can be flush with the floor and not allow for proper drainage. Just me ho

Thanks Ohio, I wish that was the case. The other two have more roots than this one and they are doing fine. Over watering sounds feasible as I've been dunking them every time, at the same time. Been watering from the top and will wait for that one to get really dry before watering again.

wow....something is really wrong there. Tell me about your temps please. Container size too.

Are they resting on a cold slab perhaps? Serious issues for some reason.

Overwatering could be a problem, so could too cold of temps.

But how in the world did you go that far without any drenches or foliars? You're supposed to start those in veg when you have 5 sets of leaves.

Trim those things WAY back, give a rescue drench and see if you can start over. I'd cull them.

Next time, start the drenches and foliars when you're supposed to!

Shit, you know that is probably it... The tent is right on the floor, nothing in between. Makes sense as they were doing awesome when it was warmer. Winter is coming...

Temps are 77/68, RH 55/29

You think that's it Doc?

Try to get a measure of your slab temp. 77/68 at the canopy isn't bad, IMO. RH of 55/29 isn't so good however.

What size pots are they in?

Yep. If they're on a cold slab that's the problem. No phosphorus uptake, super slow microbial action in general. This stuff just will not work if root temps are too cold.

When root temps are cold, overwatering is a certainty too. I'm 99% sure that's the problem.

Prune them WAY back, get an inch or more of styrofoam on the floor under the pots and Rescue Drench them. They should come back around.

I hear you, the directions didn't mention when to start foliars and drenches I just got stuck on using transplant and didn't think to ask you guys. Totally my fault.

Culling them really isn't an option as these are the last beans I had. I'd like to save them if possible. When cutting them back, what do you mean exactly?

Thanks again and next time I'll be sure to do it right from the jump.

I haven't grown an auto bro....Dr. Ziggy has grown many and he could probably tell you more.

I've never used Liquid Karma either, but spraying twice daily sounds like trouble to me. I spray 3-4x monthly.
ohioboy
Why defoliate much when youre attempting to use foliar sprays to feed them? :hmmmm:
Ive grown autos in HB kit soil, experimented with the kit ingredients, and I feel unless transplanting/ or cloning them, they need most of their leaves.
There are several excellent auto growers on 420- they grow them into monsters :thumb: . ask them , they may even use the LK
I never used LK, either..I agree with Doc, 2x/day seems excessive especially when limiting their pathway by exfoiliating.

:)

I'd top them and leave only two nodes beneath the topping. It will take a few weeks for them to grow back, but if the temps are good they'll get there and you'll be able to bloom a healthy plant.
