Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Lemon Paki does look particularly good this run. And you have a way with Cinderella - is it the same cut all the time?

I have a Grapefruit on deck - C99 x sativa - I hope it reacts to high brix soil the way yours does. :cheesygrinsmiley:

it's the same cut each time....I have it cloned. The seeds I popped had 3 phenos....this one was the only one I'm interested in.

You'll be super happy! Just make sure the soil cooks in a warm place....no ice cold concrete slabs!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Im about to go down the sulfur road after lights kick off tomorrow morning. I am turning everything off in the room including the ac. running a humidifier as well as misting all the plants when the lights go out. Now I am trying to determine how I can exhaust this air after the burn?. Should I cut my ducting and suck the air out through my fan that cools my hoods and then hook it back up before lights on. I almost want to get a dedicated 4"exhaust for times like these. your thoughs doc. Sorry for all the questions its just too much conflicting info out there and would rather follow someone who cares enough to point me in the right direction. You said burn 8 hours is this ok if OI have plants at almost four weeks flower and some at less than a week in flower?

Should i plan on doing this a few times?

Any and all advice is appreciated. thanks doc.

Doc

seedling question for you:

Root wise, when planting a seedling in it's first pot, example a 2 ltr pop bottle or a half gal ice cream tub.

is there an advantage to either, a tall and thin or shorter and fatter?

Great question!

Plants will take on the shape of their pots. Tall and narrow or short and bushy, etc.

Having said that, I'd go with the short and fat container because the roots will have less distance to travel and the perched water table will cover more surface area, meaning less watering overall.

Final container shape and size can be used to control canopy in the garden, depending on what you want.

While we are all learning from the doc, I have a question! How do you sex sativa plants grown from seed? I don't want to veg them too long. Can put in 12/12 till sexed while in 1gal starter pots, then transplant just the females to 7gal? Trying to be smart with my soil...

That's exactly what I do. Start them in the flower room in 1 gallon pots....I can usually sex them in under 30 days from germination....then transplant and keep right on growing.

I just saw this.....

Leave the AC on for a bit. The sulfur will kill spores that might be living inside the AC. Maybe leave it on for 3 to 4 hours on a low setting.

I did my 8 hour burn in a full garden, with OG's 2 weeks before harvest. No problem! No bad taste at all....but then I wash my produce.

Your idea of removing a duct and exhausting the room is a great idea.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Just started the burn turned everything off already. I guess I could go back and turn the ac back on?

Thanks doc.

great info Doc!!

Good luck with the burning Shotta!! let us know how it goes

What up DOC!!

just wanted to say thanks again for getting the kit to me and fast too:thumb:

i posted a pic of the kit in my thread i figured it wouldnt be a prob but if so let me know..

mixing commences tonight and starts the cook.

Q? if i were to veg out my plants i have right now and transplanted into the HB soil for bloom only, would i still achieve HB?? or do i HAVE to start in HB soil from the get go to achieve the desired results??

Q? so veg my plants wait for the soil to cook. then i transplant into 7 gal smarties (scrog) and veg for a week or 2 more than go into bloom with out an additional transplant? any problems with this or should i just clone these and have new clones into the HB. im just low on meds and need some asap so i need the ball rolling but will pump the brakes if i need to in order to ensure HB!!

Thanks for your time!!!:thanks:

Post a link to your journal bro! I'd love to follow along.

I really think you'll be happier if you do things right. Cook, start in HB, etc. You won't be disappointed.

No pics of Champagne this time bro. C99 and LP only in that tray.

But it is chunkier!

I'm feeding 1/4 oz Transplant with each and every watering/drench I do. I noticed that the trichomes would form in bursts, especially right after Cat drench. I theorized that soil energy rises and falls too much, so I raised the "lower level" of energy with the 1/4 oz. Transplant. Normal drenches and waterings per instructions except for that.

Resin still forms in bursts, but it is also forming in between. I am getting a mild, temporary case of the "claw" in some of those plants, so I'm perhaps pushing them a bit harder than I should. Probably skipping a couple 1/4 oz. feeding would be a good idea.

I'm totally going to try this with the next round. Those pics are proof enough for me :high-five:
