Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I went over my notes and I do the recharge a couple weeks after pistil set, not 12/12, so more like 3-4 weeks after 12/12. I haven't set a date, just been doing it when it seems right - sorta halfway through the energy needs. I did my original cook with 20 lbs castings per 60 gallons.

The experience you had with the cat drench was what happened to my mineralized plants when I used it on them. I wonder if your soil wasn't unbalanced somehow.

i noticed in the "how to use HB kit" page of Doc Buds thread it says the kit comes with recharge but doesnt say when to use it.
If Doc could clarify it exactly that would be awesome!!

Mea Culpa! I am so sorry to have left that out of the directions! I'll post a new, updated set of instructions ASAP.

The original instructions said use the Re-charge in week 2. We are now using it in week 3!

Thanks for catching this! :goodjob::thanks:

alrighty thanks DOC so week 3 after pistil onset, and no worries leaving it out, i have been mapping out the adjusted dosage rates that will pertain to my 4 plant garden and this was the only thing i had missing. EVERYTHING for my HB grow is now ready to go just waiting on the soil to finish cooking:rasta:

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Man looks like frosty season in Doc's world. They're beautiful Doc!!! Are these plants getting the 1/4oz of transplant each watering?

Thanks Curso.

I'm putting 1/4 oz transplant per 5 gallons of feed or water...makes no difference. Brix is 15...I've had it higher before, but I have a plan. They have about 5 weeks to go and I'm going to go back to Energy for the duration, no late Cat drench. I will continue to add 1/4 oz Transplant each watering.

I'm really liking this schedule! The terpenes on these are really quite amazing. The sweetest, fruitiest yet. When I would grow this in supersoil it smelled like fuel. Recent versions of high brix were like lemon scented surfboard resin.....but this smells like sugar with a weed/lemon overtone. I think it's going to be a keeper.

Holy Crapola!!!! Every time I think my buds are getting frosty and come over here and see yours, I know I have work to do!! LOL Beyond Amazing looking plants Doc!!! I definitely plant on converting to the DOCside soon with your kit. I want to narrow down my strains to the best of the best and then I will definitely be ready to order :) So far the GSC is a keeper, I am so stoked with the bud structure and taste :) Can't wait to see her in true high brix soil.

I'll give it a try too :) These plants I have vegging could probably benefit from a bit of a sweeter flavor. It sounds something you'd want to smell all day :)

You must take this pH pen and strike down your compost tea.....only then will your journey to the DOCside be complete.....(or you can pour your compost tea onto the pen, or just continue to use one or the other whenever you like....etc.)

I've got two "special" ladies this round.

I put one Lemon Paki in FF Happy Frog. Pretended it was High Brix soil, treated it the same as the others, etc. They are just now throwing out pistils, so we'll be able to see the difference. The leaf shine indicates lower brix on the FF soil...which is to be expected.

I also added K-mag and Bat Guano to 1 of 6 Champagnes I just put into bloom, so we'll be able to follow that as well.

When you do come to the DOCside, you'll want to dumb-down the soil just a bit for the GSC, but keep it pristine and pure for some of the other strains you've got going. The plants aren't the same at all in actual High Brix soil.

Q? DOC?

I have my "new mother" plants that are not in HB soil. i just transplanted them. would they benefit from foliar with stress, or is it a waste if they are not in the HB mix??

The sprays and drenches are a total waste if not in the right soil. I'm trying to "prove" that by growing 1 in the wrong soil as we speak....

High Brix clones root much faster and mine actually grow a set or two of leaves in the cloning dome! I recommend taking clones from your current mom and start a "teen mom" program, where you take clones from vegging plants before blooming them. No mothers that way.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Mornin Doc! Well...here i go! Just put 3 mk ultra's in the kit soil. They are in 8in. pots (3/4 gal. there abouts).I usually start off in 80z. cups but your instructions say to use 1/2 to 1 gal to start. Did it per instructions Doc. Just wondering...when and if they come up ...that pot will stay moist for weeks with only a seed in it eh! Your instructions are for seeds or clones right? Is there not a big difference in nutrient requirements? The soil has been cooking for about 5 weeks ,so all should be fine ...i hope! They will be under 24hrs.6500k flor.lamps for about the first week or so ,then 18/6 for another 4 weeks or so,then will go into there final home in 7 gallon rootbuilder pots to veg.under 400w.c.m.h. till a good size then another 400w h.p.s. will be fired up for flowering. They will get these two 400's side by side pretty much till done. Sound ok to you doc? Any tips or advise would be great! Thanks Doc!:) Later , Duggan.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hey Doc,

I had the same question regarding care of mothers. I like the teen mom idea, my only concern would be degradation over time of taking clones from clones. Have you found this to not be a problem?
