I think I posted a pic of one of these pots when I received them about 2 months ago

Thanks for posting the pics of the buds hanging to dry. I posted on Shiggity's thread about manicuring buds. I always trimmed for bag appeal. Harvest was filled with excitement and dread. Now I'm sold on the idea of "if there's sugar on it, leave it".
I would never have considered this before, but resin production on the Hi-Brix plants are through the roof. Even on my plant, I'm amazed at how frosty the buds are. This is going to cut way down on the tedious trimming I've done in the past.
Last year, my girlfriend and I spent 7hrs trimming 8.5OZ. I'll never do that again.
Could you possibly post a pic of a bud that has dried with the sugar leaves on it?

I'll try to get some pics of dried buds prior to manicure and show you. It's a shame I trim them up in a way, but the market demands it. The irony is that I get the best part for myself, the sugar leaf that comes off in the final manicure. That's the best part of the flower, imo.

Oh OK.. I didn't know you manicured after drying. I was thinking of only trimming maybe an ounce to show off to friends and family, then leaving the rest alone.
Maybe someday the market will come to appreciate sugar leafs on a Hi-Brix bud.

The flowers themselves are all accounted for and people want them nice and trimmed. I've got a few people who understand, but mostly they want the buds to show off to their friends, which is fine with me.
Ideally, if we all knew what we were doing and dealt with other like-minded people, we would take off fan leaves, necrotic leaves and nothing else. Wash the buds, leave 'em on the stem and send to market ON THE STEM with sugar leaves intact.
I can tell so much about how the buds were grown and the health of the plant if I can see a stem and sugar leaves.
I agree so much with your last post Doc. It would be great to be able to deliver them in long stem rose boxes. I did like having them on the stem in Jamaica. It really tells you about bud and stem structure, and allows you to see the big buds on branch. Just a lovely way to experience flowers.

Yes indeed, in Jamaica they leave the stems . It's nice to get them like that, I agree, but to buy per weight, just can't sell like that unfortunately. Doc. another fantastic looking harvest!! Cheers my friend !

Oh, I think it can be sold like that someday. People will lower the price appropriately for the stem weight. It just hasn't entered into stoner culture yet.
This madness of trimming! When will it stop? We trim the best part of the buds away.

Hiya Doc....just wanted to check in and be accountable...I keep ordering....but I am not there yet like you...yet my grow is sold before I even harvest and have just doubled my plant count...My state is faltering in legalization because our governor is an idiot, which is good for me as legal medical grower who helps people...am signing a 79 year old patient tomorrow that has pain issues......what an honor...I am living the dream and doing my life's work....who gets to do that in the f'd up world that we live in today...peace be with you.....

I got a fig tree for Fathers Day..has 10-12 small figs..transplanted into HB soil.
I sprayed with BRIX and gave a GE drench..anything else you would recommend? TYIA

Shawnee, I'm with you. Our Gov. may not be a total idiot (watch him skate the Flint issue) but he sure is an arsehole! And now, once again, passing laws, removing the rights of the people as written in the State Constitution! Sorry for the hijack. Like you I am so grateful for the garden, Doc and the HB method.
