Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I'm looking for a little advice. I'm running my first SCROG, and I'm second guessing my plan as when to put her into flower. I said I would do it as soon as she hit the screen, but now I'm thinking at least another week or 2.

It's a Jock Horror (sativa dominate). I've also never seen a plant flowered at an 11/13 light schedule. Wouldn't that cause her to stretch even more? I read a post recently (sorry, cannot remember who) said they flip to 12/12 then after the stretch, 11/13.

I appreciate any insight. Link to my journal in my signature.

I can vouch for the basement dajerm. Right now I have 2 600w hps and four 265 watt Realdraw LEDs and I am hovering between 82 and 84 without any AC. Just vented hoods. This is with 85 degree days outside and 65 degree night temps outside. So I will get an AC for summer time but if your lights are less wattage you may not even need the AC in the basement. Heck with my new LED coming to replace the two HPS lights I may not need to buy an AC!

I can vouch for no ac in the basement with LEDs.......I'm running three p450s in bloom over a 3 x6.......no problems.....I just set my temp controller to what ever I want......it does seems that the room will only get up to 85 or so.....but that's plenty hot for us........the problem I'm having is at night with the humidity now and the Dehuey running all night doesn't let my night time temps drop below 71......I do notice when it gets hot enough to run the house ac it drys the basement out enough not to run the Dehuey........it really seems that in the fall and winter when the furnace is on is the best for my situation.....best night temps and rh for bloom.....a little dry for veg.......

Anyway enough stoner rambling.......:passitleft:

Ive never grown SCROG. Ive grown Jock Horror and 11/13 (and less.) 95% of mine dont stretch much, if at all, after 8 weeks of growing from seed with 11/13; 10.5/13.5

your plant looks great! :thumb:

Let 'em rip! Don't worry about 11/13. You'll just see a bit more Sativa expressed. Maybe less stretch. I've been running 11/13 many moons now.

Splitting? I just see a different color. Is there a long "incision like" cut in the stem?

I have no idea why. They look healthy to me.

That white line (more like tan) on the stem is actually a groove that gets deeper as it goes left towards the leaf.

The plants are very healthy other than the grooves and slight spots on just a few old fans (7th week flowering)

I will get better pics tomorrow when I pull them out to inspect.

Indeed, I too think the basement may be an option. My main concern is in summer when it warms up more. It gets really freakin hot in there but I think ima move into there anyhow. Im thinking that with some ventilation down there it may be a bit better. Oh and of course an ac unit... just one more electrical device.

What area do you live in?

Doc

here is a better example of the stem split. It is more pronounced on the 2 clones, but they all have it so some extent.

also a pic of a bad leaf. Very few are like this.
For the most part they are healthy green.
And we have removed less than a handful leaf on all 4 plants all grow

it's not affecting frost production as you can see.
5th run HB+ soil went with average amount nutes this time instead of on the light side.

this Green Poison doesn't have white top problem, all white you see are trichomes.

pictures?

Sorry, that was more of just an update. But it does look much worse than a couple days ago. Guess it could be the Epsom salt, I probably put too much and killed her:( But that was at least three weeks ago when I top dressed with that. The only other thing I have done was I sprayed with a mild molasses and water foliar. I also sprayed my White Widow thats in veg... she loved it! so damn green and shinny and really growing now. So I don't know why it would negatively effect the wonder woman but not the White widow. Probably due to temp. differences.

I have no idea bro. I've never seen stems split like that. Healthhy and green you say? I'd focus on that.
