Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc I think I have read this before but do plants run longer in high Brix? I'm thinking about it as I have seen a surge of growth here at 55 days and they should typically be on the decline. I expected it with the Agent Orange because she got a 2nd Cat drench but some of my other strains are bursting forth like this huckleberry Kush pineberry pheno. They definitely didn't do this with chems! Cool foxtailing sideways!

I have definitely noticed the late bloom growth and sidways foxtailing bracts on some cultivars like Bubblgummer and Rugburn OG. Some strains just keep putting out white stigmata as well.

The synergy between the roots and the biota keep them blooming in surges, typically. :cheesygrinsmiley: The soil doesn't run out of anything, the biota don't get old, so when the plant calls for some nutrient, the horde springs to life and the assembly line keeps chuggin' along. I look for the third or fourth surge now - I never think of harvesting after the first one - always wait to see how the second wave goes ...:slide:

It becomes a matter of Amber %. The earliest trichs will start to decay if the plant begins to mature. If you can keep it green and happy it'll keep growing new clear trichs in waves, and the old ones won't amber. Some growers have gotten exasperated waiting for ambers to start multiplying.

I've seen these growth spurts you folks are mentioning and is the reason i went a month longer on an auto I've run 10+ times. When i ran that strain in docs,, it kept going, and going. Messed with my mind actually. But, i waited til she was ready and got 8z manicured from her. I think they can go longer on docs is my opinion. But, it's worth it.

Agreed. Trust me. I'm not worried in the least. I just thought it might make for good a Q&A discussion. When i hear about a "problem" I try to look at it as an opportunity: "Could the Kit be even better with something other than Promix?" Dunno - maybe not. But if it could be better, why not plan and work for it? I do believe, at some point, it will need to be addressed. Maybe not for three years, or five years, but someday...
Kudos Major, what you say makes incredible sense and I now see what I was missing! Thank you for reminding me of what is important. Let's hope they find a good way to farm peat, but if now you are right, we need to think of the future.

This was a very succinct passage that really made me understand how to proceed. I am going to ride this growing wave until 10% amber. Next flip just has to wait it's turn. Maybe it will happen in stages. I can put the larger plants in first and give pineapple fields a chance to grow bigger as my plants finish.

Yeah whom can argue with a late growth spurt! Especially when it is so covered in trichomes.

The Tigers are doing the late-growth-spurt-thing. It makes it tough to decide when to chop. I hate to finish them off while they are adding new foxtails. On the other hand, most of the trich's are cloudy with some amber. Compromise will come into play.

I didn't check the posts below this one yet....but thanks for posting such a gorgeous, resinous bud! Amazing quality.

Yes, they take longer to finish and the extra weeks are the best part. They'll get danker, more resinous and I doubt you'll find any amber triches.

I just chop mine when I feel like it. There's no real noticeable difference in a week really. A gram or a few wont kill me lol :)
