Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Thanks for the reply docbud! I think the problem with my basement (may be more of a cellar) is that half of it sticks out of the ground. So in the summer it is so hot and humid down there, in winter it is very cold. Your right though it holds in whatever there is. If it gets cold for a week the cellar gets cold and stays cold for about 5 days after regardless the temp outside. I also have landlords that do a lot of gardening outside, the vent for the cellar is about knee high/thigh high and they would be able to hear my ventilation equipment without a doubt. So I'm trying to avoid moving down there. Then again my currentlower cab. is only 18"x18"x5'10". This makes it very hard to find a fixture that will hang in there. I bought the shortest cooltube I could find but I still need to have the pyrex cut down a bit. As you know its get hot in that little cabinet per the reason for a cool tube. I only have and can only fit my one 250 watt HPS in there. How would you deal with the environment in a cellar/basement? there is no heat/air in there I guess I would need to buy a portable heater and a/c unit/ and a dehumidifier? Thanks for your reply doc!

A 250w in the basement should be fine. The big concrete heat sinks will spread that heat around it won't change the temps a bit. You may fight humidity issues though as you said. I need to get a new dehumidifier for the basement. I am running a bit high and these buds are dense!

Ha! yea id say your buds are looking very dense and frosty! I am more concerned about when it gets to be 105F for weeks straight in the summer and of course the winter is the exact opposite but just as important. It will get down to about 30-35F in there and it sticks around because of the concrete. Thank you for your comment though, I respect all you guys and your knowledge and experience. I feel very lucky to have found a place with so many kind, helpful people.

Hey Doc

Will be finally sending an email today for some more stuff. Have to do an inventory first. Thank you in advance! !

Doc, I'm making some seeds this round and was wondering if there's anything you'd recommend to facilitate the process in the kit. The plants that are getting pollinated are approaching their maximum ovulation and will be due for a cat drench too.

Should I hold off on the cat? or double it? lmao, Though I suppose "standard operating procedure" is still an option too.

If you're seeding one branch and hoping to keep a lot of bud on the plant, grow per usual. If you want maximum seeds, Cat Drench all the way.

One more question on that...would it better to do a cat drench then pollinate a day or so later? or should it get pollinated then the cat drench a day or so later? Does it matter?

Mostly in reference to the initial cat drench and the timing of typical prime ovulation.

Here's what it looks like today! I'll get a new journal for the Gavita's going shortly, but was hoping to wait for a few more plants to fill in the tray.....I only have 6 now. 3 Colombian and 3 Grape Ape.
