Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I need a Brix Kit!!!! My first room is about 75% done. This weekend I have to caulk all seams and slap on some white paint and BOOM, ready for fun. I do not have time to start off with brix as the cooking time will not be there yet. Hopefully my seeds will be here next week then I'm running. I have read the first 5 pages of the brix thread, then I skipped to page 678....hah. I do not know how much has changed with the kit since the beginning, but I would like to know how to get me a kit. I do not have enough posts yet so I cannot PM.

Gaffle, fyi, if you don't even have beans yet, you can still do this run high brix...if you order as soon as doc pm's you. ;)

1 week to get the beans
24h soak
24-48 hrs to pop out of soil (or plug)
2 weeks in small 1 pint starters with some roots! powder (in the kit) mixed into that tiny amount of promix and the sprout watered in with transplant/tea (both also in the kit). You'll have the kit by that time...Doc is usually on point getting stuff out the door.

That gives you at least 3 weeks to get the soil cooked...right on the cusp...and well worth the wait. :)

Morning Doc

I got this plant,, it's an auto, I am absolutely sure of it. Fact is I have two autos in your kit, both same strain, grown the strain many times,, but these I had to flip to 12/12 to get them to flower. Took a week even after I dropped the lighting. Never had that before. Both in your kit, one, the Monster I no tilled it's in a seven gallon. I just can't explain what's going on here, I'm at 90 days (week into flower) and I don't know what to do. I've harvested theses at 90 before.

About two weeks ago they started yellowing up down below, and since I never amended the seven gallon I no tilled, so I gave it a dose of recharge,,, no more yellow and great growth since then. I'm just amazed, scared, and interested to see what I have. I have a couple pics, the plants way to big to get the whole thing but I put my yard stick on top on the soil so you can see the height, this is after being LSTd.

I think two -three weeks she'll get a cat drench. Other than that I'm winging it. I also think after the cat I'm going trim the lower third, something I don't typically do with an auto, but it's way to big for light reach those buds,,

I have no idea.....I've not run into anything like that before.

An Auto that won't bloom? Looks like a cull to me, but then again, I've never experienced anything like this. I've never grown an auto, BTW.

Yup, I was going to cull them. I will say this, I have a candy kush auto that I think I'll hit 6zs from it when my max before was half. Incredible buds. I don't know. This one I don't expect those buds given the how many sites there are,, a photo I'd have trimmed up that lower brush a while ago, a normal auto I don't really do that as much...

Not running autos anytime soon. .they just worked with the light schedule I was on....

Thanks Doc,, I see another kit order in my future...

Yep. :smokin:

Get this: my county might ban or severely restrict cultivation. Apparently, the local law enforcement aren't seizing enough assets lately so they want to go back to the stone age.

Geezus Doc! What would you plan on doing if this happens? Id be tearing my hair out if I knew I couldnt grow! Just your county or those surrounding as well? F'n sheriff's dept I bet huh? Sorry to hear about all this dude.

They're talking about adopting the "mendo" rule, 25 plants total per location, period. I'll grow 25 trees. But it changes the market dramatically.....we shall see.

The one thing I won't do is break the law.

Hey Doc, I never got a refractometer because I couldn't find the post where you advised what to use. Could you refresh my memory?

I have this little mistress I'm thinking of switching to 12/12 soon and wanted to get your thoughts on how she looks and how much I should be feeding.

It's a Lung Candy strain, seven months old, grown from seed in your kit. It's sitting in a homemade fabric pot and the settled soil measures 13" tall and 20" in diameter. Long ago, you suggested for a large, single plant to use the following:

5 mil of whatever drench is called for
.5 mil Tea
1-2 mil Tranplant

I have been feeding it a little more GE than that because early on it was showing signs of N def and you advised to feed strong on the GE. I've been doing 5-7, alternating waterings in a pattern of 1/4 Trans, 1/4 Trans, GE drench, straight water, repeat. Currently having to water it every three days, probably could stretch to four. Humidity stays at 50% and temp ranges from 71 at "night" to 81 during the "day" period.

Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think? I feel like a lot of the fan leaves are fairly small, but that may just be this strain. Also curious how much Recharge and CD I should use when it comes time?

Holy crap, Capn! That's a lot of plant you have there! :thedoubletake:

Your pot is 17-18 gallons. Are you feeding proportionately? That would be 10-12ml of drench at the dosage I use.

But whatever you're doing is working great!

Beautiful work! Remember, the kit directions are based off of 6-7 gallon pots, so when it comes to dosages, adjust accordingly. Graytail is right, I'd be going with 10/12 mils of drench and 1 mil of tea for each pot. We dont feed the plants, we feed the soil in said pots. Oh, and if its veg'd that long in that pot, when you flip to flower, youre going to have to feed quite often because the soil is gonna run out of steam pretty quick. When it comes time for recharge id apply it then top the container off with as much new soil as I could get in there and maybe half a cup of ewc. That plant is so large its gonna use up the nutrients in the soil really fast...especially after she begins to flower in earnest. Good luck!

Wow! I might have to learn how to grow a bunch of those.

My immediate thought on seeing your lovely shrubbery is to double up on feedings, top off the pot with Recharge/EWC and BLOOOOOOOM. I'd probably prune it up a bit first. It looks amazing!
