Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Was able to upload pics today. Things are going very well mostly, but I've definitely ruined a crop of Paki. It's lost about 3 years on the quality this run, due to me messing with the soil.

On the other hand, the Grape Stomper is looking superb in the same soil that wrecked the Lemon Paki. Grape Stomper is a "hydro" strain and I'm thinking I might have cracked the code for getting them to grow in High Brix soil:

Blood Meal...about 1/8th cup mixed into the lower part of the seven gallon pots.
Top Dressed Epsom salts in the second week of bloom and every 2 weeks after.

Like I said, the Paki is crispy in this mix, while the Stomper is gooey with excess resin.

Cool stuff on the stomper code Doc. That's exciting news and those pics are sick. Just curious though...what do you do with a crop of paki that turns out sub-standard? Surely you don't toss it.

Doc has no fan leaves, it's all sugar leaves :smoke2:

correct me if im wrong but i believe the main reason for that much trichome production is the Co2 pump.

i mean, yeah of course Doc is a master with extended knowledge on everything that revolves growing, that's a huge factor too

but would all these beauties be that resinous if there was no Co2 pumping in the lab?

Yes they would. Look back at past growers who didnt use co2 enrichment, their plants displayed just about the same amount of resin. I've gone through several journals and have seen these results.

The CO2 has no effect on resin as far as I know. I use it for yield.

The excess resin comes about with adequate lighting, proper temps/humidity and timing of drenches and sprays and in the case of the Grape Stomper a bit of organic blood meal in the soil. 12-0-0....all organic nitrogen, which boosts bloom, contrary to popular mythology.

Most strains don't need the blood meal. But the frankenstrains seem to like it! I've tried adding several things: high P bat guano, high N bat guano, K-mag, even Alfalfa meal.....but the blood meal seems to be the ticket for now.

Unfortunately, it wrecked the Lemon Paki.....so until you have a few things figured out don't mess with the blood meal. This means Dr. Ziggy is going to use double the amount. :ganjamon::ciao: Sorry....couldn't help myself with that last comment...it's meant in an affectionate, respectful sort of way, as I know we all enjoy his contributions to this ongoing quest for decent herb.

Hey Doc,, third pic up from bottom... Would you consider that bud, set? Have you cat drenched that one??

Yep, that one got the first Cat Drench. It's in the window for sure, but towards the latter part.....a week ago was about when I like to do it.

Perfect, thanks boss! I was going to skip the recharge with this one candy kush auto I have,, but,, it's eating everything according to the basic schedule out there. And it vegged much longer then ANY auto I've run. It recently got the second cat,, and that's about where it was,, not as frosty but that's you... :bravo: The overall size and look of the bud is what I wonder about...
