Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

hey guys, I think this might have been just asked so I'm sorry if it was. I transplanted my plants into their 7gals and put them into 11/13 same day, 22 days ago. They got their first cat drench last night because buds were definitely set. My question is, should I just add the recharge when I do my next cat drench? How long do you guys normally wait in between cat drenches? For the soil to dry up most of the way?

I only have one round of experience, but I added Recharge before any Cat drenches. The buds on my plants weren't "set" after the third week of pistils/beginning bloom.

yeah, mine seemed definitely set and I think it's because I was running GLR veg and I had a few pistil hairs showing on most of the plants before I switched them to 11/13. They all stopped stretching a good 4-5 days, if not a week, before I cat drenched.

I just completely forgot about the recharge, heh.

Duly noted.......hey the trim in the first pic on the left......would that be considered a handful, when talking about throwing a handful of leaves in with used soil?

Good shit, Doc. Really like to see how you do it at that point... Good shit bro thanks ;)

Oh, you doing 11/13 as an experiment or, is that a normal cycle for you?

that's my normal photoperiod in bloom. The extra hour of darkness helps bring out Sativa traits and I'm all about growing the Sativas.

I'm with you on screwing up the recharge. My plants started flowering outside, while I was on vacation. And then I just got a bit overwhelmed and never paid close attention to days of flowering. So, I have one plant which has had second cat, and now the GE&T feeding,, somewhat following directions. But, those directions mention the recharge after this period I'm in. I'm winging it this round.

On a more concerned note. Last night I went into the bloom room to check things. I had four plants on Doc's kit in there, with an Afghani and holy Grail Kush on house and garden. I wasn't loving the Afghani in that room, and I was loving the only Doc plant I had in my greenhouse. So, I decided to pull the Afghani from the bloom room. And replace with the THC Bomb on Doc's kit in the greenhouse.

No big deal, photo period outside almost matches inside. I'm very happy I made that move.

Then, last night I decided to go into the room. And take a look. I'm almost never in there at night anymore. So, I go in turn on my green light. Right on to top of one of my plants/buds running in Doc's kit, a cbd og, was a tobacco worm. :yikes: Aka, bud worm. I almost Shit myself. So.....I've been finding a couple a week outside. I really didn't want to deal with it inside, but, I am now.

Sorry about the long story. I'm not happy. I assume if I saw one, there is two. If there's two,, yeah. Not happy, but I know how to find them now,, but, I'll miss one.. Or two....

Bummer that.
You guys are giving me bud worm paranoia. :thedoubletake:

Check your buds. I keep a clean grow Room, greenhouse. Do plenty of preventative stuff,, cant seem to stop them. I've read a lot on them. Just have to open the buds and check. I was nervous doing that at first. .now, I'm determined.

Good luck major. .to be honest, I'm happy to know it's worms doing it, and not something else. I thought, the first time I came upon it earlier in the summer that it was rot due to over fertilization. Even though I'm a light fert guy. They LOVE that first notch down on the bud after the main cola. They hide in there, eat, get stoned, shit, sleep, eat,, you know.... Nasty. .I find them and I get chills,, then a squash them and eat em....:volcano-smiley:

Doc - Help!

One half of my Green Crack veg clones have turned rusty spots, leaf markings and twisted leaves. I've been following the instructions and the only thing I can think of is my very high pH well water. (9.2 to 10.3)

Here are the clones just starting veg before any signs.

I am worried and I am not sure I did the right thing. I took one of the affected and drenched it with water at pH 5.8 and tested the run off. It was still very high. I did this three times but it didn't change much. I am now watering everyone in the tent with water at approximately 5.8 to 6.0 by using pH down. Plus foliar spray of DeStress today. What would you do in this situation? Other brix users please chime in.

What is this rust?

I have found about a dozen of these as i have been trimming and inspecting. It was an out door grow.

You're way too nice. I don't reach for my cam, I, cringe, then I destroy them. I've actually seen a few, once I caught them deep inside, look at me,, right before I cringe, say, SHIT, then destroy them.

Here's the thing folks,, they are sleepers. If you don't inspect, by the time you find them,, they've done damage.

Seriously though, great pic, that's what I get.

Reps to you ;)

Yep those things can lots of damage I found one then ten more
Pulled one plant before it got to many that was a good idea
Anyways living in SoCal I thought it might be my region for such abundance of these little shits try as I do I can't get away from them
It only happens the last few weeks in bloom or later September into October
Never have them indoors at anytime of the year

Yikes. Something is very, very wrong with the roots.

Do NOT do anymore flushing or pH downing. If your well water is that high you must have needed quite a bit of pH down to get the water in that range and that will not help.

Do you know the TDS or PPM of your well water?
