I'm under the impression that because I'm a second kit contestant that I get two questions per day. Scrubby how many kits are you on like fity?

Anyway, one, will the metal from the cage do anything bad in relation to the kit?

Standard metal/galvanized cages.

Two, is this a good idea, any one do this with LEDs and cages,, I'm sure I've seen pics...

me likey. Ppl are pushing me to stake for my first time next time. This seems like a similar idea but better.


I also have a question: I got some soil leftovers that I cooked up around the end of March, any reason to NOT use it to start my next round of solo cups? Anything I should do to it? It is sweating still. I'm looking at my jacked canopy of current flowers and then accusingly at my bin....

It was probably 10 degrees colder than it should have been the first month, and probably 10(probably not over 90f though) hotter than it should be the last month. I need to put a thermometer in my un-HVACed workspace. That or duct it in....winter will probably help make that decision more clear...

I've purchased 2 complete kits so far and random other items in quarte and the 3rd round amendment. In 2 weeks or so ill be going for my 5th run in kit soil :)

Today I woke up and my plants were looking great until a few hours before lights out then they looked more droopy than I have ever seen them. I put a humidifier in my tent yesterday and now the humidity is lower.. lol At 9:30am my flower lights go off and my home ac starts kicking on more because its cool at night so it doesn't run as much then 3 hours from then is when they start drooping. So around that time my temp goes from 80 to 73-74 within 3 hours. Think that could have anything to do with it? I use to always run 24 hours lights on in veg and when I first started growing my home humidifier was broken so I had 28 percent humidity for a while and never seen this before. I really don't think its normal.

Hey scrubs I mix in a cup of roots in with my first run soil and chopped up root ball, and re moisten, how long should it sit before use? Maybe when the roots are ate up?:passitleft:

Was that from only one plant? If so you only really needed a couple tbsp of roots! bro.
You can use the soil right away if you want or wait til the rootball is gone...it doesn't really matter.

Seems maybe the drop in temps increases RH and theyre getting ready for bed alot earlier than the normal 1/1.5 hrs before lights out

It a ten gallon rootball and about 20 gallons of soil total from the 10 and from a 15......

Yep. There's a huge downside to adding more biochar, namely it could and would reduce the ability of the microbes to function. Too much organic matter isn't good for the soil.

I really want to help you with this, but I don't fully understand what you're saying.


Are you saying everything is great until about "a few hours before lights out" and that this also corresponds with the AC turning on and a rapid drop of temp and humidity?

I'm not sure exactly what you're saying, but yeah....that sort of thing will definitely cause issues in the plants. It stresses them a bit.

Yes. That is what is happening except the humidity is always around 50 percent no matter what the temp. I did have my light a little too far away so I lowered it and I have moved some stuff around so my temps don't fluctuate as much hopefully. The temp fluctuating is the only thing I can think of that would be causing this.

Nothing past run 4. Some people have success doing leaf and Roots! in various combinations, but at some point new Promix has to be added and further on the soil can no longer produce. Some fabulous runs can be had inbetween tho.

Bud since they are only one week rooted and they are getting accustomed to the room it seems natural that there might be some droop during this period. I think they are acclimating.

I think I figured out what was causing the plants to droop so much. I cant believe that I didn't notice this yesterday but they all needed to be watered (I am an idiot) and the ones that looked the worst were overdue for some growth energy and brix. I fed them last night and will spray brix tonight. 2 hours till lights off today and all looks fine. They still droop but not half as much as they did yesterday that made me worry so much.

There really isn't a reason to choose one brand over another, as magnesium sulfate is magnesium sulfate, no matter who makes it, etc.

As long as there isn't any lavender scent or anything like that, RiteAide epsoms are no different than any other.

Get the cheapest one, as long as it's just Mag sulfate.

16's across the board on the Punta Roja's. The smoke is just freakin' stellar. More on the way!
