Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

:nomo:Very cool post Smokey!

Kill em Scrubby?:thedoubletake:

NO respect for heavy, stoney pot, Graytail?:hmmm: Never had insomnia a? Good for you!:thumb:

That's cool Smokey, thank you. I'm going to wait a little. It's not much, could be from the GE drench they got last time,,, otherwise they are rock stars,, I'm not worried at this point. They are sixty day old clones, just about, with another five weeks before bloom. Thank you for the reassurance,, sometimes I ask dumb questions looking for that. ;)

I did some research on the two crosses with that plant,, I believe I'm seeing a chocolate fondue dominance or something like that,, which means it's mostly sativa,, so I'm very happy with that.

Update pics:

Resin. Neglect. Not much else to say.

hey guys, anything wrong with doing a GE drench and spraying brix on the same day?

No problem at all. But I suspect timing of these things makes a difference, I just don't know what it might be.

I try and spray the day or (two if I get lazy) after a drench. My thinking is the drench revved up the soil now lets spray them to get the plants to ask for some of that goodness. I have no idea if this is even good timing it just is what makes sense in my head

Doc,
I've started on my first Brix grow and after raising the seeds to seedling stage and then to 5 nodes I have followed the notes on what to do but now I am wondering about spraying De-Stress twice a week on veg plants as it says in the schedule. :reading420magazine:

Foliar Veg Spray Schedule
Foliar sprays begin on young plants as fifth nodes put out their leaves. Mix each spray at 1 oz per quart of water, using a fine mist try to get the underside of the leaves.
1. De-Stress foliar spray on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
2. Brix foliar spray on Saturday -- @ 1 to 30 ml ratio.

FOLIAR SPRAY RATIOS
SMALL PLANT >> 1 ml Foliar Spray per 30 ml Water.
MEDIUM PLANT >> 2 ml Foliar Spray per 60 ml Water.
LARGE PLANT >> 4 ml Foliar Spray per 120 ml Water.

I know these are not hard and fast rules and there is room to add or change things depending on the plant or conditions. If De-stress is sprayed heavily will it hurt the plant?

:hmmmm: :green_heart:

I was unknowingly mixing De-stress too strong and it burnt some leaves pretty bad but the plants eventually recovered. A little goes a long way with that stuff. I use it at half to quarter strength now. I've never had a problem with the recommended use of Brix.:Namaste:

Oooh, oooh, can I answer Mr. Cotter?

Me, personally, I used destress early, I even hit my clones with a light mist. I used the ratios listed 1/30 but, I did.....

Once you smell that,, you will know that your plants will love it.

I'm no poster boy for following the rules,, but, I'm about to order my second kit.

So, my plants are happy, so am l.

A couple things:

All new kits have the latest formulation of DeStress, which we now mix at 1/2 oz per quart!

Also, if they look super healthy there's not much need for twice a week spraying. A light misting of it every 10 days is fine for the fake plastic plants. Those that struggle for one reason or the other will benefit from more frequent spraying.

If you're look good, go the light route.

Heh, when plants are happy everyone is happy! I am about ready to order a second kit too. I've been using some of the soil and the sprays around the house (I have a lot of houseplants) and they love the destress. The poor plants I have had for years are enjoying the benefits of my education with Docs kit. The soil around the plants is no longer dead but looking closer to being alive too.

Hey Doc, as I mentioned last night ill be contacting you later today to order a second kit. Things are evolving and my plans to shut down after the next girls in the bloom room have changed.

Your kit girls are up next.... I think by September 1st.

Assuming yours go September through November 15,,, that leaves a window for me to get another group in. Say they go, November 15 - the end of January. Then I'll shut things down for Feb and March. Anyway, I think those are my plans,,

So, I'll need to get cooking another kit if that is my plan. I'm going to plant four from seed for that run in your kit. I have enough soil left over after filling my seven gallons for my first run with your kit, to start four solo cups at least. I don't think I'll start them for another month. The strains I'm considering are.

9th Hammer
Holy Grail 69
Bubble Yum
And either Atomic Bomb, or THC Pro,, or BC Big Bang.

I could cut clones,, but I'd like to try from seed with your kit, and try a few new strains.

Just letting you know, since I know you wonder about my life every waking moment.

Thank you, Doc!

Thanks Doc I'll change my schedule and mixing instructions. The plants seem to love this stuff. :green_heart:

same same.

The 2oz eye glass spritzer bottles work great on small plants and put out a very fine mist. Most drug stores have them :thumb:

Yep, I have a 1 oz glass one I got at the healthfood store, and a 2oz plastic one I got at walzmartz. I put usually 15-20 drops of foliar into the 1oz and fill with water. It's somewhere between 3/4 and full strength best I can figure and works the charm.

I invested $15 in a Flairosol. Should have done that in the beginning. I mixed up a mere 1 oz and tossed it into this 10 oz sprayer and was amazed with the ease of operation, no matter the direction, and the fine, fine mist I was able to shoot right up into tight spaces.

I believe this sprayer was recommended a while back on these very pages. I should have paid closer attention then. Highly recommended.
