Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

can clones from same mother give different phenos?

I've had clones from the same mother act and grow different in the same soil and conditions. I don't know if that qualifies. Its a good question.

Yes!

Phenotype arises from the combination of genotype and environment. Treat two clones differently and they may appear different. Clones taken from different parts of the plant, or at different times may start phenotypically different, but in identical environments their phenotypes will converge.

Phenotype is just the sum of all the different characteristics of an organism.

Hope that helps
Cheers!

I have a cut from my Orange Hill Special that looks NOTHING like the plant I took the cut from. It's so "wrong" that I've gone over and over my notes trying to figure how I could have screwed up. I didn't - this is the OHS cut. :hmmmm:

Huh?

I don't see every single question. I answer hundreds of them.

Sorry Doc, trying to be funny. Somebody was upset that questions were asked before.... That was not directed to or at you. :Namaste:

Just one question when you have time, or anyone else's who runs the kit.

Can I use epsom with doc's kit?

I have one plant, it's a chocolate fondue and white lighting cross, and in doc's I'm starting to see a little yellow on the leaves. Very faint but I'm looking for it. I have the mother in a seven gallon and I noticed the same a week or so ago. So, I decided to experiment with epsom on the mother, thinking it was a salt lover. It is sativa dominant for sure. I gave one tablespoon of epsom to the mother in one gallon if water.... The yellowing stopped. Plant looks much better. Not that it was looking bad, but, it's leaves are greener

Anyway, that's my question.

Use epsom with Doc's?

Quick update....

Here they are last week to this week. Not the same order but I'll start doing that in the future.

Last week after drench:

Week later nothing since drench:

Hey mmm....is the plant in question in bloom?

For anyone whos uses 11/13...they definitely finish faster! My 8 weeker RD is about done at week 7. Ill give her OG probably tomorrow and see what happens. If she dont do much more, she's coming down next weekend. Oh, I found a few amber trichomes!!!! WHAT?!?! Lol :)

Epsom salts should be in every gardeners tool box. Yes, you can use them with the kit.

Most strains won't need them, but often hydro strains do. I use them from time to time, but right now the only thing I have running that needs it is Grape Stomper.

Thank you Doc. Think it's best to wait a little,, see what the kit does? Like I said, it's not much. Or, based on past results with the mother, go ahead and give her a little?

Many thanks!

:Namaste:

I'm not Doc but I know he's been busy this week. I have grown lots of strains that need it added, the ones that don't have been the minority for me. If they are showing signs of a Mg def then I would give them some, you can start with 1 tsp in your water per plant. I try and do it when they need a heavy watering so it gets mixed in close to a gal of water for each one :thumb:

Edit, I just looked at your pics from the post above and while its hard to tell since there are no close ups they look great to me if anything maybe they are ready for some GE? I don't usually have signs of a def until around week 4 or so of flowering I have never had to add it to any veg plant.

I get amber trics on lots of my plants, usually only on the sugar leaves though. Myth busted! :high-five:

Smoky, how did you Photoshop all those triks!

Beautiful.:bravo:

Hey DocBud, good morning. Did you see this one?

And something special (was getting jokes from Amazon Echo...Alexa.) for DocBud and his soil freaks:
What's brown and sounds like a bell? Dung.

:Namaste:

Yeah I get some strains that never changed too and the ones that do are only on the sugar leaves so I have stopped paying much attention to them. Those tricky bastards have lead to me chopping a few plants sooner than I should of :)

I started by installing the Docs Kit plugin, then the Environment tweaker plugin then finally the Ace Seed plugin and hit go

Processing takes a few months though, need faster cpu or something... :passitleft:

Yup, the lil bastards made me chop a plant or 2 a bit too early...no more tho lol
Now I just wait for them to literally stop growing and kill em lol :)

LOL, that's the way I decide, too. I haven't gotten the loupe out since January. :cheesygrinsmiley: If they haven't made any new calyxes in a week or so, they're toast - otherwise I let 'em go as long as they want.

And I'm a smoker that has no respect for heavy stoney pot - I like the buzzy stuff. :slide:

In HB soil, let 'em run. I only had one plant I should have taken earlier. It was a Grapefruit clone that went heavily amber before I chopped it, and it has a creeper stone that'll knock me out before I see it coming - nothing like its sisters and mother. But my soil was getting pretty alkaline by that time, and that potful may have been especially so.
