too funny...I hear Doc say all the time....let the plants dry out until the leaves look like they are wilting...have been hesitant to go that far....well, today was adding transplant day...the middle plants under the lights were really dry and looked like hell...I thought, oh mon dieu, I really fucked up...drenched with transplant, moved them out and rotated.....a couple hours later went to check in.....the picture of health....good god, Doc, you make it very hard to screw this up, dude...

Cultivation:

noun

1. the act or art of cultivating.
2. the state of being cultivated.
3. culture; refinement.

Collin's English dictionary: noun
1.(agriculture)
the planting, tending, improving, or harvesting of crops or plants
the preparation of ground to promote their growth

Being cultivated and being a cultivator at the same is fun. Nature knows best. But we create and direct nature, when we cultivate. Gaia didn't put the dirt in the pots, I did.

I suppose I'm just mimicking perfect weather and super fertile soil, something you don't get without cultivation.

So, when I say to let them dry out, that's cultivation....it does something beneficial to the plants.

10-4 it was a come to Jesus moment....

 That's been MY line! "It's really hard to screw it up". :high-five:

Yep, I'm an old school guy with some body hair. But I hear that's coming back in vogue?

Either way, that's me. :;):

Hehe! Just muckin around Doc :)
But see folks...thats a good example why washing your produce is a good thing after harvest. Folks say "but I dont have bugs and I use filters!!!". Yes, you may but every time you handle your plants or are just in the room, stuff comes off of you...yeah I know, "stuff" sounds nasty but it is what it is!!! :)

hey doc, I'm sure you've answered this before. I'm sure anyone can answer. Can I use promix BX with the kit? The "wetting agent" thing seems kind of strange but figured I'd ask here before I buy the stuff.

I'm sure it would work OK but you might want to add some perlite to it in order to bring the porosity up like the "HP" version.

-edit-
I see scrubby beat me to it.
Damn - they make too many versions of Promix. Even if you limit it to the "BX" bales, they have four kinds. Hopefully yours has the myco and not the fungicide or stimutant.

it's the myco one, I just wasn't sure about the wetting agent thing. Thanks for the help guys! if anyone knows about the worm castings lemme know!

I researched a bit on npk values for castings. My impression after chatting with worm people and reviewing lab analysis is that they are, for the most part, very similar unless you are able to compare current analyses from the same lab.

I use worm power, has a legit rep and sold by build a soil. Also pretty sure build a soil has a castings analysis from Worm Power posted at their site. Worm Power has established cred.
