Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I did the strong transplant drench (not as strong as you recommended but stronger than normal) on my current hurkel right after CD. It was starting to get a couple ugly leaves again and this combined with a normal ge drench right after the transplant straightened it out :)

What is the reasoning and benefits of a very heavy transplant feeding doc?

The reasoning behind it that the roots are restricted and the volume of soil is small. A heavy feeding of a gentle organic like fish hydrolysate will help revive soil energy without burning the roots.

In raised beds or in the earth, the roots continue to grow laterally in order to find soil that still has energy, etc. They can't do that in our small pots, so a heavy feeding really helps.

The same effect cannot be had with the other products due to how they work and what they do.

It's not something you want to do often! You may not need/want to do it at all. I'm finding that for certain strains, or large plants, it really helps.

I am really liking learning the why of all the kit products instead of just following the written schedule of what to do each week with what product....it is really making sense to me with where the plant is in it's growth cycle and what it is needing in that particular week....I take great care to explain to my patients my philosophy and grow style, Doc's products, and the bud washing in order to separate myself from the tons of other growers out there...those with medical ailments really need to understand what a special product they are getting from me along with the expectations of top shelf when it comes to quality...thanks, Doc for 'splaining

Ok...I look at it like this. 2.5 mils for 7 gal pots right. Thats .35 mils/gallon. Multiply that by whatever your pot size is and thats what SOIL should get. 10 gals would be 3.5 mils, 1.75 mils in a 5 gallon pot...see where im going? Its what I do and my plants love me :) So, .35 mils per gallon of SOIL with drenches. If someones getting special instructions, they might not work for everyone. Stick to the directions until theyre re-done id say :) but what do I know lol :)

Ya Scrubbs...lets say that again...."stick to the instructions". Doc's. gear is alot of fun for many reasons . One being that all the ingredients in the Kit can really be abused with hardly any ill affects. It allows us all to tweak our recepe's a little here and there and change up the timing of things a little here and there. As we all continue to use the kit this way,we'le no doubt help each other grow the most awesome produce on the planet.Cheers eh:circle-of-love:

Woa! 2 ugly leaves?

HB is kinda funny when you think about it. No one worries about big things. We get irritated when .08 percent of the leaves aren't perfect.

It's kinda funny.

To be honest I think that comes from over attention or excitement in general. I used to freak about Lil things. Best thing about your kit besides it being the best tech support out there is the KISS mentality I love that.

 But the wife saw the one bad leaf and wanted to know what was wrong with that plant... This is not a joke by the way :)

It was only a few leaves but it showed up at the same time as in previous grows and from past grows it probably would of got worse if I left it alone. One of these days I will start growing smaller plants in proper sized pots. I don't remember reading in your instructions to let them veg for 2+ months and then using only a couple gal bigger container so some tweaking of the feeding is to be expected and part of the fun for me :) This hurkle is kind of on the large side for a 10 gal IMO as has been every plant that I have had this issue with so it makes perfect sense. Thanks for figuring out the heavy trans trick because it really does seem to snap them back in shape in a hurry if you let the energy get to low for whatever reason :high-five:

You know how it is, we want every new plant to turn out better than the last and so far they have been. My last harvest is so strong I had to stop smoking before work in the morning and can't smoke nearly as much during the day unless I want to be completely useless  :passitleft:

Here's the little gal from Punto Rojo:
