Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hmm I gave compost tea + inoculant + lactobacillus acidophilus + volcanic rock powder, but one day before she started catching up on lush green. Definitely effect of quick rootbuilding. Will take Brix after the weekend and we'll see :) Thx :passitleft:

Give the Calcium Nitrate a try! If you've roots and living soil, with lots of minerals, the plants can really take on a lot of calcium....which means sugars and proteins....so Calcium Nitrate, then fishy ferts (phosphorus) etc.

I'm just speaking from well over a few hundred grows not 1. And I'm assuming you think I haven't read as much about cultivation of plants in general but I have. Cannabis is unique and fun.

Sorry doc. I do have a quick question. So you recently didn't like the og drench overall. Well my Pestelence is for sure a heavy feeder in my h and g one. So I'm.assuming the HB one will be as well what would you like me to experiment with. I'm not to concerned with these two as there just to learn on.

I LOVE the OG drench....but only on plants that need tortured and half killed in order to taste and smell "right." Plants that don't need it will not benefit!

OG (Chemdawg, SFV OG, Tahoe OG, Larry OG....others) became popular because they do very well in a high salt, hydro type environment. Feed them 1800PPM salts and the plants can't stand up without a trellis or extensive staking....but the taste and smell of such a plant has become very, very desireable. They don't grow at all the same in HB.....but you can get the familiar taste and smell with the OG drench.

It's the same with tomatoes....the heirloom, pollenated varieties grow far better in HB, as they have the ability to take up far more calcium than the modern, hybrid tomatoes.

As a general rule hybrid tomatoes do not pick up as much minerals from the soil as do open-pollinated genetics. It is strongly suggested to use open-pollinated genetics when striving for high brix. While I can't cite a paper from a peer-reviewed journal to prove my theory---because cannabis has been labeled "not any damn good for anything" by assholes and therefore cannot be researched properly---it isn't a stretch to conclude that if heirloom vegetables and animal forage have higher nutrient density in biological soils than modern hybrid counterparts, THE SAME COULD VERY WELL BE TRUE WITH CANNABIS.

Certainly that's what I'm seeing my my garden.

I'm really, really excited for this Colombian Red! Landrace, shorter stature sativa.......mmmmmmmhhhhmmmmm.

Ok what's an extreme ratio. My pestilence is a very salt loving genetic. As we know.I want what you would consider ideal or even a Lil more

I'd follow along per normal.....feeding on the strong side. The directions say .5 to 1.5 ounces of drench per 30 sq ft.....so feed yours on the heavy side of that scale. Do the Cat, do the extra strong Transplant thingie we talked about, and later on about 2/3 through the boom cycle, try the OG drench.

1 oz OG plus 1 oz Transplant plus 2.5-5 mill Tea plus 2 tbspn Epsom salts per 5 gallons of water.

That will weaken her, make her sick and generally develop the terpene profile people are used to.....IF it likes to grow like an OG. Not having ever grown the Pestilence and not knowing what it is supposed to taste like, I can't say for sure if you'll benefit from the OG drench.....If you do one with and one without you should be able to figure out which one is preferred pretty fast.

Hey Doc, I made a thread for this but wanted to post here for your insight aswell. Im about to drop a little change on a new room and your advice or reassurance if nothing else would be invaluable to me. if you wouldn't mind looking this over real quick and tell me if I need to do something diff, change anything/modify ect....this is created largely from watching your grows and with this being a HB grow of course I want you to look it over.

here is the info ill post a link to the thread incase you want to post there instead. either way if you can thanks!!!

Im working on a project and wanted to see if any one from the:420: FAM had any advice or ideas on things that should be changed or modified/made better or diff. trying to ensure I am not missing anything before I go to spending money.

I built a room on google sketchup to determine cost to build the room and create a game plan visually.
this will be a room built in a building, size of room will be 12x25 actual grow space will be 12x20 with a Quarantine/small storage or work space also to ensure no light leaks/smells from the grow space.

i don't have it in the design you see right here but right when you walk into the first door there will be a 3x3 enclosed space which is the actual Quarantine room where I strip my clothes(will have already showered and new clothes before arriving but step farther>>) and put on a one piece jump suit and gloves to get to work in. overkill some may think but once you have pollen from the outside world come destroy all hard work in a whole room you may not think so then...... lolol SUCKED!! ill do everything I can to prevent it forever more:)

room will be fully insulated from top to bottom with dedicated circuits to the larger appliances and light controller.

OSB sheating one the outside and inside insulated and EVERY crack filled with expanding foam sealant or caulking.
inside walls from top to bottom covered in 6mil poly

heres what ive got:
(12) platinum LED p600: will be 3per 4x8 table then one of first upgrades will be adding one more per table ASAP

(4) 4x8 tables set on cinder blocks
(10) plants per table, each pot 10gal fabric pot
Doc Buds high brix kit in promix hp with myco

cooled with A/C: I put a wall unit into the design but will be going with a mini split most likely. if not a portable inside the room for now?...?

Water cooled CO2 generator with controller

50pint dehumidifier with pump to avoid changing bucket

complete enviro controller: still looking into the one ill get...any idea??

20gal rez under each table with 3 airstone per rez coming from a 110l airpump

top fed drip emitters with 800gph sub pump in each rez feeding 1 table each. 1/4" lines with the emmitters from the 1/2" main line coming from the pump.

(2) can 100 with 8" max fan on either side of the room (might hang from ceiling)

(1) can 9000 with 4" inline fan to scrubb the Quarantine room incase any gets in there when opening the main room door.

(4) 18" airking oscillating wall fans (one per table)

trying to think if I have forgot to add anything....ANY help, thoughts, advice, critisim all welcome, please and thanks FAM.:Namaste:

Very solid!

The only advice I have is simple: LARGE minisplit.

Everything else is solid!

wow!!

Hey doc, all this talk about the OG drench.......I have a handful of chemdawg femmed that I wanna try, what do OG strains do in HB without the OG drench? Other than smell and taste obviously. Thanks..

I just got the og drench and I plan on using it on a few rare darkness plants I have going. Theyre rare dankness #1 x grape ape...a good candidate apparently :)
