Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc what does cause 3 petal leaves?

I'm sure there are other factor that cause it as well, but I've seen stress cause it (first-hand experience).

Doc, BTW, Have you raised any HB seeds?
How would you suggest I handle the ACE plants seeds? How long should they be allowed to stay on plant and the plant alive? how long would you wait, if you would wait, to plant the seed? How would store them? Thank you.

Tweeze one or two out and examine them. Are they speckled, hard shell? Good. Gently crush the seed you removed: is there an embryo in there, or is the pod empty?

Let them go long enough to be good seeds. Check them now and then.

I have made some HB seeds. Yes indeed.

Just dropping by, Doc.

I wanted to say that I followed your general High Brix basics to build soil for my outdoor grow, and after I got 17 Brix reading on my Grape Dog yesterday I can say it works. Also I outplanted more of the same strain and after a week there's no sign of any insect activity although no pest control was used, and plants look very healthy.

One thing I wanted to ask, if a plant is sucking nitrogen from lower leaves in late veg, actually she's being forced to flower now (Grape Ape), would you consider charging her with more nitrogen that late or just let her stretch without it?

In the situation you describe, I'd give a generous dose of Calcium Nitrate. Next feeding all fishy ferts/bloom ferts, etc.

Harvest window is open! I've taken 3 Grape Apes 2 Lemon Paki's and about to take a Champagne and more of the others....1 or 2 plants per day.

I'll take a pic tomorrow to show what the OG Drench does to a plant that doesn't need it.....hint: purple! (and weaker stems, lower brix and more fruity smell.) I much prefer NOT using the OG drench. Only use it on plants that do not come out anything like their hydro versions and even then, only if you absolutely have to have the product!

The way we are using it now, it delivers the goods!

1 oz Transplant+1 oz. OG Drench+2 tblspn Epsom salts per 5 gallons of water is about right. Give a gallon to each plant.

Wow, just Wow Doc!!! :thedoubletake::welldone:

:thanks:

Killer. Thank god your not in that no till stuff those sticky ass buds would be covered in gnats and other potential pests.

I couldn't get rid of gnats when I was doing organic gardening. Once I learned that minerals were important and that organic matter should be kept very low....the bugs looked elsewhere for their meals.

There are still a few here and there...but no webbing, no leaf damage, etc. Once in a while, I can see a tiny bit of thripe damage in young vegging plants, but once they start getting healthy it stops.

Hey doc, my kit plants are doing great. Here are a few pics of them under my new cob light. i cant tell ya about my light because the USA light manufacturers are not paid advertisers.....thats a rule here at 420. My journal was deleted because i "showcased" a non advertised light.

The bottom pic shows the canopy 12 days after the photo in the top pic.

doc, does it make sense that root bound plants might suffer stress from brix foliar because constrained roots cant cope with the demand created by foliar inputs?

RE Brix and rootbound....yep. We like ever so slightly rootbound in veg, but not in bloom. I'm really pushing it with 7 gallon pots. I should go up to 10's or 12's.
