Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Yeah a mini split long term will pay for itself. Mine only draws half an amp. Compared to my Window ones in the past pulling upwards of 15. A good ductless heat pump is worth it's weight in gold. Well that's what the hvac guys charged me anyhow lol. Portable units are a waste of time and electricity

You're not the first to say that, but, I might put that in my signature.

Hey Doc

Couple quick questions. Stopped at a nursery today that I'm a regular at, saw some and picked up some pro mix.

I'm wondering if this is what you use for your kit?

Thinking maybe I'll finally try your kit, if so.

How does your kit do for autos? I'm thinking I'll run autos on it to start this summer. Then see where it goes.

Thanks for all you do, Doc! :thanks:

Works fine with auto's.

That soil will work, but I prefer to have the orange one, without the biofungicide but with the mycorrhiza.

I don't really know what difference it would make from 2 or 4....but I ran Willie Nelson all the way through with Cat Drench last time. I think they like it.

only Cat? wow!

what do humates do to plants in late flower? I am observing a more potent response to the drenches/foliars used at same time. is this possible? Do humates augment the drenches?

So, that, your kit and ewc?

How long do you recommend cooking?

Still April, I might do one photo in a 20g smart pot along, with an auto or two.

Hi Doc,

Thanks for the great thread.

1) Do HB'ers flush?

2) Do HB'ers foliar feed to the end?

I couldn't find this info in the thread.

Quick intro; I'm a 25 year Reams-Albrecht-brixer on the fruit, vegie, ornamental side. Grew up in the family greenhouse business. Was managing an acre of greenhouses when I was a sophomore in high school. Both my dad and I have degrees in ornamental hort from Univ of Ill. Last year was recruited by investors to be head grower for the mmj liscence here. State awarded us two licences. I am managing the fertility in both places. Unlimited grow. Will have 50,000 plants going SOG by end of the year, each location. Full lab; soil and tissue testing weekly. Goal is 20 brix+ Have worked with your lab since 1995.

Advise from Colorado consultants is all over the place. Thanks for your time.

Something I never see asked or talked about here on 420... tissue testing.

Best thread ever. I don't see how I could ever grow any other way after seeing the amazing plants You have grown Doc. I am blown away. Could you send me a message about pricing and ordering when you get a chance. Thank You

Welcome to the thread.

I do not flush. Quite the opposite I try to get one more growth orienated drench in before harvest. I foliar up to the last week or two, basically harvesting a few days before the next foliar feeding if I were to let them go. But it's really an individual thing. I like to finish with a strong foliar and drench and harvest 5 days to 2 weeks later depending.

I'd love to talk to you and compare notes sometime.

Just posted a final post on my first grow with pics of my harvest and a strain review (link in my sig if interested).

Gave a nice shout out to Doc for his bud washing technique. I quote, "Have to also give some love to DocBud for his thinking-outside-the-box bud washing method."

Really smooth smoke. Thank you Doc!

You're welcome!

Bud washing is my best idea ever. I simply don't smoke unwashed buds except only in cases where extreme politeness is required so as not to offend, etc.

I'd rather take a tolerance break than smoke unwashed produce!

Question: the past few years I've had a real big problem with catapillars in later part of bloom on my outdoor. I would normally pick them out by hand but that isn't good for the end product and I don't want to spray anything on them that late into bloom.
Don't want to feed my first HB grow to those monsters any advice would helpful

Doc have you seen the latest greatest way to grow the biggest best of everything.

I thought you might find it interesting. From what I see it is iron, zinc and micros.
I might get some just to get one of those neat sprayers.

Its from the Oxyclean guy, so it must work.
