Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Question: the past few years I've had a real big problem with catapillars in later part of bloom on my outdoor. I would normally pick them out by hand but that isn't good for the end product and I don't want to spray anything on them that late into bloom.
Don't want to feed my first HB grow to those monsters any advice would helpful

This may be of interest to me as well (hopefully not, but...)

Assuming you're in large enough containers for the size of the plant I don't think you'll have too much trouble with Caterpillars. If you're truly outdoors I have a totally organic product that contains hydrolyzed fish, phosphoric acid, neem oil and some other oil and it works really well outdoors. If you were to spray that now and then during veg, and especially early bloom and the soil was dialed in feeding properly and all that, I'd wager you'll not have any trouble with caterpillars.

Thanks Doc!! Hope that shipment comes fast. How many bags of EWC do I need?

Curious about this first;

Would it be possible to start plants in a solo cup, in just the HP and EWC base, while the soil is cooking? I'm thinking about two or three weeks out I'd start them. As I've said, there final home will be in ten gallon smart pots,, I'll do two plants in your kit like that. Then a few autos later. But I'm thinking, by the time the soil is ready I can up-pot the first two plants into azalea cans which have your cooked soil?

Very excited to finally try your kit. Going to be one interesting summer!!

Thank you. :Namaste:

I just ordered you kit Doc. It's a no-brainer. I am not usually one to make a journal but I think I might have to.

I have a few questions--

Do you mix up the soil after wetting it or just wet it in the container its in?
What are your thoughts on using female seeds?
How long do you veg for and do you have anything against 24/7 veg light schedule?

I'd wait till you get the kit, use a liberal amount of Roots! and then try what you suggest above....but I'd much prefer if you just waited till the soil cooked. If you really just have to do it, use the Roots! product first.

I like to mix mine up dry.

No problem on the seeds as far as growing.

As for veg time, I usually try to get rootbound in 1 to 2 gallon pots, depending, then bloom. Can take 3-7 weeks...all depends on the strain and what it's going to replace. I generally try to put a fresh plant in bloom right in the place of a harvested plant right then and there. Never more than a week. That's my version of perpetual; when things are ripe, replace them.

Ive used the "quick start" before...worked fine :)

I think I'll wait. I think I'm going to do holy Grail kush, two of them. But, I was also thinking one HGK, and one of the following:

CBD OG from cali connection, Critical from royal queen, or sugar black rose from delicious seeds. Anyone with input I'll take it. I'll probably kick this around everyday for the next month. Lol. Thanks in advance, really, thanks!!

I'm no expert, but I think you will need the OG drench with a lot of those kush strains........

Loved sugar black rose!!! Straight licorice! :)

Thanks Doc. I actually meant after you mix up your soil with the amendment do you mix it again after you get it wet so that all the soil in the container is damp? Sorry if this was asked before.

The only reason I asked about fem seeds is that some people tell me they are not as good as reg seeds, but that's usually the person trying to sell me seeds and they don't carry fem seeds. I was hoping to pop some fem white widow seeds in your mix. Have you ever tried that strain in your mix? and if so how well did it do?

That one has a short flower time, think I saw 55 days. I liked that one on initial research, I'm looking for more CBD strains to deal with some issues, and get more experience. I think my greenhouse will really pay off for this grow because technically I'm starting late based on my season. Last year my first outdoor mj plants were planted indoors April 25th. Then May 8, then the 18th, last was 6/5, I did four groups. Last year was also a warm spring. This year is far from it, to start. I need to have this grow going by May 20th... so I hope the soil cooks quick, :) but, I think I have extra time at the end which I didn't have last year.

I'm good, if I don't feel it,, I'll run autos to finish my year outside and then kick it indoors with Doc this fall.

I'm flexible,,, but, I'm dying to try his mix so I'll figure out a way,, even if I don't have it all figured out!

Ah...yes. Stir it around so everything is moist. Once the lid is on, it will start cooking and moisten itself, wick, etc.

Check my grow out. My first 4 plants are all different phenos of white widow. First ever harvest under platinum led and using docs kit. The smoke is BOMB. Like, it is really really good.

doc and I harvested some champagne today, the yield was very good I'm guessing 4 oz's from just 1 plant. also had to throw some pics of the grape ape and the paki!

I'd personally recommend maybe either the white bean you have from exclusive genetics or there white chocolate I know I will. I'm actually contemplating once I figure what really loves docs kit to cross them and try to make a hb exclusive genetic
