Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Does anyone here Vermicompost? After reading the discussion about the varying potassium contents in the retail brands, I'm seeing big red flags. I never considered K values in my EWC. Does anyone have dietary suggestions that can help keep the K down? Does Vermicompost need to be tested for NPK before use?

I'm currently not using Doc's kit, but will be as soon as possible. I don't want to spoil a kit with incompatible poop! I guess if I need to make changes, I better start soon.

Thank you all for being so helpful...

Hey Doc, I just got my water test results back from the lab. My well sits stable at 6.19 ph, and 46 ppm TDS. These seem like acceptable reading to me, based on my limited knowledge. Do you agree that this would be acceptable for use with my HB kit?

Doc, the separations of your pakis petals, strain specific? I am seeing that with 2 of the Golden Tigers I am growing. I cant say I noticed that before yesterday with my plants. Its beautiful.

Edit: the purple hazes are showing that too.

I'm seeing a brand new phenotypical expression on this run. I've got two quite different plants, the two right in the middle of the tray to be precise. They have shorter petioles and smaller leaves, but I am 100% certain they are LP. It's the lights! This super bright light is making them do things they haven't done before.

The tops are all bleached a bit, but the rest of the plant is so damn perfect I really don't care.

... like Monsanto. Bad, bad company. Google Monsanto GMO Roundup. They are the number one pesticide maker and they're trying to get a monopoly on our food supply. Neat, eh?

Please do not see my answer as a sign of disrespect, but this is nonsense. Yes they are the biggest pesticide maker, yes they care more about money then about nature.

No they are not patenting our food. They are modifying food, and then patenting the modified food. You can buy the non-modified seeds without issue .. just as you can buy the modified versions without issues.

What you can not do, is repeat their work and get the same quality in your own broccoli ... but given how BAD monsanto is, nobody in their right mind would want that anyway ... right ?

They spend an inordinate amount of time and effort cross pollinating farmers crops who don't use their seed, then suing the farmers right out of business. They spend so much money lobbying in Washington, with every intention of monopolizing our food.

..note point 3 on their list. (they are being sued for saving seeds, something that is in the agreement you sign under 'thou shalt not'.)

Don't take this poorly, but you start with a very strong statement, then fail to make a coherent point. Maybe my trouble is reading comprehension this morning. Care to elaborate? What is it you are disagreeing with? I don't see what quality problems I'm having with my High Brix Brocoli, but then again I don't think I understand your final comment either.

FWIW I don't get very excited about this whole topic but I thought your post merited a response.

Look online for what monsanto sells and dont use it. Im growing all kinds of herbs and veggies that arent on the list and will continue to do so forever...or at least until im dead.

Grow heirloom seeds. Better diversity an nutritional value.

Mornin Gang.....Doc , quick Q for ya. I've been spraying Brix once per week as per instructions. Can we spray it ,like twice a week or would that be too much? With these Mazar's and all the leaf they have might benefit from it dunno bud. Havn't started this yet btw!:Namaste:

Twice a week will roast the roots! Once a week is pushing them hard.....I am going every 10-14 days now on soil that is 3rd run.

That was what I expected you to say. Catching on here. :laughtwo:

Root aphids!

I'm currently NOT in an organic/HB grow. These little !#$@% were with the clones I got and just about wiped out my babies. From what I've read they are insideous and nearly impossible to completely get rid of w/o going the nuclear route. I don't use systemics or anything that kill bees, ladybugs and other beneficials. My concern is they will follow along to my next (HB) grow. They laugh at BT.

I'm looking for are two products: a foliar and a drench to use in concert with Doc's HB kit in order to give my upcoming (indoor > outdoor) grow a fighting chance. Has anyone found a good solution, and had success wiping them out? I know HB plants are stronger and able to withstand pests, but I'd like to give them every opportunity to thrive by getting rid of these badies, while not damaging the microherd.

There is no good source locally for predatory nematodes, but if it is the best way to go I'll check into ordering some.
