Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hi 420 Hi doc,

Please send me info on obtaining high brix kit. I am preparing for my first grow. While I'm focussing my efforts on providing a comfy home for my new roommates, I don't see why I shouldn't also attempt to replicate the techniques of those who are producing the finest marijuana in the land.

Anyhow, Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and growing wisdom. There are some great teachers on this site, and I really love the open source model you are using to develop the technology. Communities such as this are hotbeds of innovation.

Cheers

p.s.: I am in Canada. If that's a problem with the kit, I'm sure I can obtain almost everything more or less locally. I'm not sure about the sprays though. I've found some sources that do provide sprays designed for Hi brix gardeners, but not the agricultural strength ones you talk about in your journals.

While you wait for your kit to cook I would run through and do some dry runs on your environment and make sure you keep the humidity and temp stable for best results. I can't keep my humidity up in my flower room and temps are a bit high so my brix is low, I can tell because only a few leaves have that shine and I have pest problems.

#1 key is environment. If you look at all the brix guys that have amazing plants it's mostly because they are spot on with their environment and generally good growers.

Are you going to get it independently verified again? Seems pretty low for how frosty those girls were.

Sorry about all that hassle. I guess that rules out any HT events in the future for you?

It's entirely possible that 17.2 is the correct number. That's still pretty good....and the numbers for the winners were well within the lab's margin of error compared to 17.2. Of course, people who smoke it think it's super strong....go figure.

As for entering more HT contests.....no friggin way.

However, I look forward to attending the events when possible. It was a ton of fun! I just know better regarding the contests now.

I will be getting my stuff tested more now, however.

Yep....nothing is more important that the environment. NOTHING.

As others have also mentioned, it would be great to have a contest affiliated with 420mag where donors are banned from competing.

Our chocolate fondue consistently tests between 24-27% we are expecting a much more conservative test result at cup. Like 18-20% is my guess.

We are now concerned about placing again as the competition is larger this year more than likely and some of the sponsors\vendors are way more prevalent each year. Also hearing your experience makes us apprehensive.

For all you members living in Washington state Ill be at a pot fest tonight at a rented bar one of my dispensaries I vend to is hosting. I'll ask more info about Washingtons growers cup and when it's hosted

Oh and here's the high brix babies thought I'd share. Forgot to last night and I've been busy on a 9+ day trimathon

Hey Dutty would you say that Washinton has more lax grower-vending regulations than CO? I am not familiar with WA laws at all...only ever really read up on CO. But I'm getting the impression from all the WA growers on here that there is more freedom to essentially be a private grower that sells to dispensaries, whereas I don't see that happening as much with the CO growers. Maybe its just because all the CO growers I see around are all personal?

We were all good tell recreational got voted in. I will unfortunately being going rec as medical will be pretty much no more. The state is losing all there tax revenue to the black market and medical. Since medical is un taxed that's gonna be the answer for them to try and shut her down.

We are really close to acquiring a 502 tier 1 license. Alot can't pay there taxes. Sucks medical was very rewarding to grow for. I quit a fairly successful R and D job so Im not gonna quit growing just cause they will shut medical down. I'm gonna keep growing even if it's gonna have to be just for profit. Not very self rewarding though.

Currently I only sell to 3 dispensaries used to be alot more 20+

I'm a collective grower me, mywife and 3 other patients so 75 plant count. If the state and big pharmaceutical gets there way no dried flowers and only 3 plants per patient thar won't work if you need to make oil for treatment

Do you think they will still be allowing discounts for card holders, while still applying taxes? Or will that be tossed as well?

Is it easier to get involved in WA selling to dispensaries?

GFcollective was trying to explain collectives to me but I'm not entirely understanding all the loop holes surrounding that designation I think.

Hopefully medical patients will not be paying tax. It's still up in the air. I just want my rec license so I'm prepared when they shut medical down. Our lawyer truly believes it's in the cards unfortunately.

I can't speak if its easier there. I've been to fort Collins and denver when we made our initial investment after I left my job. We Met people in the field that had lots of experience like the Stanley brothers and such. Got some tips and just applied them here.

It was rough to start but product and test results spoke for themselves. Now we never have enough. And If we go recreational I'll have to hire a couple people full time is my assumption

OOh ME ME pick me! lol

Ha, but in all seriousness it would be an honor working for one of you guys. I would learn so much and I love working with my hands...alas I'm stuck here on the East Coast.

Holy Mother of God.....SloTown, I get scared every time I see that you've posted something.....have never seen anything like dat!:rofl::rofl:

You guys always out do yourselves and, for some reason I'm laughing off my chair over here.....Lord have Mercy......

Too bad you couldn't come up with something with a little bag appeal. :thedoubletake:
Those nugs look like Christams tree ornaments! Golly great Jeebus!
Those are too beautiful to smoke. You better send them to me for safe keeping.

SLO's iphone is a far better camera than my ancient, cracked Canon, that's for sure. Those pictures look exactly right. We were trimming for quite a while and still were holding up nugs saying, "check this one out," etc.

Those are LED grown nugs.

SLO.....you gotta post those in the LED thread linked to in my signature!
