Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Maybe they never tested it until today.....never know. Anyway the labs in michigan will also give you the average results for the strain compared to the sample tested. Then you have something to measure your results against. Not that you need that but if that strain tests at 12% normally and you got 17% that to me is better information on how well it was grown vs. someone who got 21% on a strain that averages 25%.

17%?

I call bullshit.

Nu uh, nope, that's not 17% weed - period. It just isn't.

Bullshit.

...unless they did keep your sample and tested it today after leaving it out in sunlight for the last two weeks and degraded all the THC.

But, like GT said...total BS that they only recorded 17%. And where is the supposed original measurements that they should still have access to??

Yep. That's what I expected too.

Here's the certificate from last night. Notice the dates the sample was brought in and the dates it was tested. Also note that the certificate numbers are the same.

Lastly, I promise that the flower shown in the test isn't my Lemon Paki. It doesn't look like that.

For easy comparison, here's the "corrected" certificate again:

Harborside tested my former helper's Paki at 22% last year....wasnt' as nice as my entry. But 17% is at least believable. In fact, 17% is the most believable thing I've heard from them so far.....

Curso would know as well since he smoked some and his lchp was around the same number. Either way I agree that 17 seems way low.

Blind taste tests of Paki vs. "big dog" strains gotten at the cup have 100% of the time resulted in Paki winning. 5 for 5 so far.....

The picture on the certificate is not my strain. Promise.

Well, its hopeless cuz the "run-around" factor is gonna be high on this one. FUCK HIGH TIMES!
420 Magazine...what are you waiting for?!?!?!

True.....but I'm not your average stoner. I have the means and motivation to do something about this.....and I just might!

I'll give them a bit more time to explain it to me before I start taking action. Fraud and false advertising happens all the time, but something tells me that somewhere is an attorney who wouldn't mind the publicity of taking on HT. It's too early for that now.....let's wait and see if I get another certificate or two first!

:thedoubletake:

Thanks for the moral support everyone. And for the record, I don't feel at all like I was "robbed" of a win. There was some FANTASTIC flowers there, including mine.

I do feel like I entered a rigged contest....that's a feeling.....but I KNOW my lab results are screwed up. That's a fact.

If a few more feelings show themselves to be facts, look out.

If nothing else, I'd be pissed that 40 grams of premium HB smoke was basically wasted. No matter what they do from here on out, the results will be highly questionable.

Doc you da man, love you and everything you do!

Someone has to do something, IMO anyway. I got no beef with HT, but I might.

Yep, those things are already FACT. I think we've seen behind the curtain now. Disillusionment abounds...with a dash of disappointment.

*sigh*

This is very very interesting, if you consider it a bit ...

It's one thing to establish a market advantage for a single product; it's quite another to establish a brand like the seed houses, and HT itself. That can take years, and millions of dollars in investment and promotion. The Cup is an integral part of that brand awareness and has huge value.

Now we who read Doc's thread know that there are "irregularities" in the testing procedures. The general public doesn't. So far, the value of the brand is intact.

I hope the people who are emailing with Doc understand what's at stake. If the Cup has shoddy internal controls, it doesn't matter whether Doc's results were accurate or not - the entire Cup and its value as a branding tool is at stake, Doc or no Doc. Let's hope somebody with some skin in the game finds out about this soon. It's gotta be terrifying to someone.

High Times Cups are a joke? Really? Ouch. People are gonna be angry about that.

Problem solved! Well, not really. Here's the explanation:

Hello xxxxxxx,

How do I know this is my certificate? I brought the samples in on January 27th, and yet the certificate says the sample was brought in on 2/18 and analyzed on 2/18. The Cannabis Cup was over on 02/08/15 and supposedly the testing was all done prior to that in order for the "judges" to score things properly.

So, my questions are as follows:

1. Why did the numbers get changed by HT?
2. What effect did the changes have on the objectivity of the testing and judging?
3. Why does my certificate show dates that don't make sense?
4. How do you know this was my sample, since the dates were wrong and HT "changed the numbers"?
5. If indeed this sample was tested on 02/18 and brought in on 02/18 (hey, that's today!) how would HT have gotten the numbers for the contest that was over 10 days ago?
6. When was my sample actually tested?

While I certainly appreciate a discount on my next test, I'm quite worried that I don't have results from my first test yet!

Is there anything you can do to assure me that this is indeed my test result?

Doc

Here's how they answered:

Hi xxxxx,

When you first submitted your Flower to High Times they issue a Intake code to your flower, they then take that number and give it a new code to insure no one knows the intake code and there is no cheating. When I first issued you the Certificate I issued a Hybrid Concentrate instead of a Hybrid Flower completely my mistake, nothing to do with the results for the cannabis cup. I just received the codes from High Times yesterday and we had to match the clients to the sample with the codes.
We tested your Flower on February 2, 2015 we have an expiration date 30 days after we have tested your flower since I am just issuing the certificates now I didn't want the certificate to expire in two weeks. I assure you this is your test results and apologize for any confusion this may has caused you, let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thanks
Kristina

That explains it......they issued an Intake code, the they took that number and gave it a new code.....and HT just gave the lab the codes yesterday.

It must be an easy mistake to just accidentally get the wrong code and get a concentrate with my info instead of a flower? Huh?

Were the codes for Doc Bud's High Brix Blend Lemon Paki concentrate that similar to the codes for Doc Bud's High Brix Blend lemon Paki flower? Oh...wait, there was no concentrate issued......

BULLSHIT!

I actually had never thought about the Cup was run and didn't know it was rigged. I think I will never order seeds from any cup "winners" anymore unless I have tried the strain personally.

Don't blame the winners.

Blame the promoter - the guy who claims to run a non-shoddy contest.
