Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

DOC thanks for your endless FREE consulting....you are invaluable to this community.:thanks:

Q for you.

I have some plants in flower in 12.5 gal air pots. they drink 3/4-1gal a day. Since I am watering everyday how often should I be drenching per week?
IE. should I feed, water, feed, water on and on (feed drench ~3-4x week)
or
feed, water for 2-3 days, feed, water 2-3 days (feed drench 2x week)
or
feed, water for 6 days, feed (feed drench 1x week)

Im in the process of working it out on my own and tweaking here and there but I would love to know what you recommend.

Thanks Doc.

Are you watering to runoff with that gallon?

I'd feed the soil weekly, perhaps twice in 3 weeks. Remember, the foliars also feed the soil.

Hello Doc.

I wanted you to take a look at this and let me know if I am off in any way so that I can adjust.

It is a simplified version of your instructions in a way that I can understand better at a glance. Also, it is measured in terms of one plant rather than six plants because I am only growing one lady at a time.

Waters

.....Water A = Plain Water + 1/4 Strengh Transplant (1.25ml)

.....Water B = Growth Energy (2.5ml full strengh) + 1/4 Strengh Transplant (1.25ml) + 2.5ml Tea

.....Water C = Tansplant (2.5ml full strengh) + 2.5ml Tea

.....Water D = Cat Drench 2.5ml + Tea 2.5ml

During Veg

Alternate between waters A and B

During First half of Flowering

Alternate between waters A and C

Roughly at end of the third week of flowering apply the first dose of Cat drench. When ready for water again after that, apply the second dose of cat drench.

During latter half of flower (after cat drenches)

Alternate in the following fashion: A, B, A, C, A, B, A, C... until harvest.

Is that about right or do I need adjustment somewhere?

Thanks Doc!

2.5ml tea for one plant sure is a lot.

If your considering 2.5 ml full strength for your pot size then 1.25 ml would be half strength not 1/4. If I would of known math helped with growing bud I would of paid more attention in class. Thats about as much as I can do without a calculator :)

I have been doing the same thing with my big pot this grow. About 1/2 - 3/4 gallon a day depending on how dry the top is then every 4 or 5 days I water them with about twice as much and let them run off good. The daily watering usually doesn't have any run off. Im not really sure if what I am doing is ideal either its so hard to tell whats going on at the bottom of these huge pots. My leaves are kinda droopy but I was looking up other blue dream grows last night and they pretty much all looked the same way so I dunno if we are all over watering or if this strain just does that for some reason. I figure when I crack it open at the end I will get a better idea of how much of the pot has been staying moist enough for good growth. I am always worried that by frequent smaller waterings the top half will stay to wet and the bottom half will dry out.

Thank you for pointing these things out folks. :Namaste:

Yeah, my math and spelling aren't the best. hehe.

My afghan kush special. She went 12/12 from seed and has about 3, maybe 4 weeks left. Kit grown in 3rd round soil. She'll get drenched with energy tonight and brix tomorrow. The pics are crappy but you get the idea. :)
Oh, I had to put her up for adoption because I moved and now she's only got cfls abover her...but not too bad I suppose! :)

I do get some runoff, not 10% but maybe 2.5-5% runoff. when i drench with E or T rhough i get a full 10% runoff.

Just for informational purposes as well so everyone learns from my what not to do...heres what ive done as of late :)

I was basically feeding with drenches 2-3x per week.:MoreNutes::welldone::loopy: don't ask me what and why but after doing high brix for a year or so now i just got in a weird rinse and repeat monotony of water feed water feed water feed, and am now taking a step back to smell the....buds :)
Less frequent feeding saves money anyways...and healthier plants....yeah you could say ive been burned out mentally as of late...

im working on getting some zamaldelica seeds to go in new 1st run soil, and in this case from what ive seen it may not be getting drenches but 1x maybe 2x A MONTH....may even do Cat drench exclusively in flower...what do you think Doc?

I like it!

One of the common problems with container gardening is getting moisture to all aspects of the container. I think dunking or using a saucer is incredibly helpful in achieving this, even if you only do it once.

I used to do the "monsoon" technique where I would really deeply flush them and then chase with a drench. It accomplished complete watering, but I'm getting better results with the saucers now....and less water.

My garden has been operating on AC/Dehum condensate now for a couple months.

not sure was the package that had bottles taped up extremely?
also it says in the invoice to use roots not transplant, I got transplant so is that what ill be using?

The invoice said not to use "Transplant Water" which is from a previous set of instructions and a former version of Roots!. The new version has everything already in it, and you can water it in with plain water OR with a weak Transplant solution.

Transplant is a drench, Roots! is the rock poweder/myco bag.

I massively taped up the liquids, but the tape job was super clean. The boxes they use now are very poorly made and fall apart.....and I have no choice but to use their boxes if I want to ship flat rate.

It was probably just crap service on my postal carrier nothing new!

I will mix soil up tomorrow and wait! In the mean time I got plenty grow related projects to keep me occupied Ill be following this thread daily! Thanks again doc and his high brix disciples
