Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc, daytime temps range from 79 to 83. May have an occasional spike to 85 or 86. Night, upper 60s low 70s. Humidity is mid 40s with some fluctuations (higher)when watering , etc.

No, it is not webbing: dog hair! No, the dog doesn't help me in the grow room - just a random hair that I've carried in! No mites that I'm aware of either.

A couple of weeks ago I did let the top soil get to dry - rather crusty. Plants never showed any signs of wilting. I'm now paying closer attention to the soil and keeping it moist.

Here's a big picture view. The cupped leaf photo is from the cola that is center left.

Now that I can see the whole plant, I wouldn't worry either! Looking good! Sometimes leaves do strange things!

Do you have a journal going? I am interested in how the GSC and Jillybean turn out in the kit. Nice strain selection and nice plants :thumb:

Not on-line, only on paper. This is only my second grow and second with the HB kit. Both grows with the same strains. Grow space is 3x3. 1200 w CFLs. Environment controlled. First grow 4 plants in 7 gal pots. I topped and LSTed and still had a jungle! I averaged ¾ oz per plant. For the second grow, I used 5 gal pots (7 plants) in a SCROG. Topped and LSTed again as a well as lollipoping the lower growth.Much better cola development- larger, tighter. First grow the colas never really filled in, this time much better. No idea what the yield will be, but I'm hoping to double + the first grow.

Smoked ditch weed for a few years in the 60's, so I'm still feeling like a newbie. I will tell you this, the aromas and taste are to die for! I wash my buds per Doc's method and from a newbie's perspective am very pleased. Now, to grow one of those monstrous 8oz beauties!

Feel free to ask any questions.

Doc,

4.5 weeks in and only one plant seems to be struggling a bit. The Dinachem (Chemdawg) it's pale green and more yellow than the others.

yesterday they all got Energy/Tea and some epsoms, and Stress. The others are nice vibrant emerald green.

this from the breeders website.
{There is an extended believe, about this strain, that expresses its full potential when grown with chemical fertilisers, which we deny. }

Any thing I can add to green her up a bit and keep her healthy?

Liquid preferred so I can add it to the bottom of the feed pots.

I have a few assorted liquid nutes, and powders available. or what end of the nute spectrum you recommend.

Fair enough, I understand journals aren't everyones cup of tea :D Let us know how they end up. If you ever feel like posting some pics to show them off without doing a full blown journal feel free to post them in mine, I don't mind :thumb:

I am really impressed with TGA genetics so far. I think im gonna pick up some hurkle beans and maybe one of his other more sativa strains. I just wish he would put out fem seeds. With my plant limits its a bitch to find a female since I can only pop one or two new beans at a time now that I have a couple moms and flowering plants going. Now that I think about it I could easily spend 6 months + just trying to find a female if I get unlucky a couple of times and thats not even counting trying to find a female of the pheno your looking for if you happen to be looking for a specific type :thedoubletake:

I only got 1 female out of my 5 pack of plushberry. If they wouldn't of been the first thing I ran it could of taken 8-10 months to get one to the point of being ready to flower if the female would of been the last one tried.

Triple up on the feedings for that Chemdawg.

Garden Update:

Huge, Giant, Massive issues and challenges in my life are clearing up! These are all very good things that involve money, shelter, citizenship, taxes...etc. I've cut way back on growing and now that things are resolving the way I want them to, I'm starting to fill up my trays again. :partyboy: :smokin: ;)

Here is some Grape Ape, going ape. 4 weeks to go. Purple coming on. If you view the full size image there are some trichomes visible.....

We haven't mentioned the High Brix Shine in a while....this little plant is shining. Brix in veg is 14. It's a landrace afghan and will likely become a regular in my garden.

Finally, someone asked me about Colombian Gold. Here is a branch from a plant grown and harvested in Santa Marta. This is what it looks like, and yes, it's all seeded up.

In the next few months I should be more active on the forum. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Exactly! And we're capable of more than we know at this point. It's overwhelming, but suffice it to say that once cannabis is rescheduled OFF the Schedule One list of drugs, research can be conducted and we will likely look back on today's best buds as the equivalent of a 45rpm record compared to a half speed mastered LP. We'll let our hydro friends claim the "digital" comparison.....because audiophiles know that nothing beats vinyl.

Look at what people are doing with High Brix! Look at Curso, Tav, Graytail, Duggan, SGA and others! Some of these guys have been growing a long time, some not for very long, but everyone I've named and many more are getting results like mine....or better.

Now that my time is going to open up, perhaps I'll seriously consider some Cannabis Cup action....I do have a sponsor now.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc, definitely go for the Cannabis Cup!

I'll probably start with a CA one first, if I do it. I've been told "Yes! Do it!" and "No! Waste of time! It's all politics." We'll just have to see.

But I can tell you that every plant I grow is supposed to be the best one I've done yet. It doesn't always work out that way, but more often than not each harvest is better than the previous.

Enter Doc! Hell thatll give me a reason to go to one!
I can probanly speak for everyone when i say that all our harvest are better than the last! Its redundancy without being redundant! Its so ease for us to produce this quality of cannabis! Go out and share it Doc! Who knows, it could be the way to get a lot of us tigether for that big smokefest we've mentioned so many times :)
Just my thoughts :)
