Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hi,
Doc, I was wondering how well does the kit when you 12/12 from seed. I´ve never tried the method and I know you have done it in past grows (dunno if you still at it though). Could you give me some tips about it? I know you top em (or used to) so they veg a bit longer. But I was wondering on the volume of the pots used and the regime(soil feed and transplant schedule).

I appreciate insight from anyone who knows this stuff on HB :D

It works fantastic with seeds. If you top, do it pretty quick, with like 5 sets of leaves. Everything else is the same.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

plants are doing great,

recharge 2.5 wks, check
cat drench at 3.5, check
second drench at 4, check

plants seem to be loving the bottom watering. I split the cat drenches, half on top and half in the rez.

Only observation I have of note is the plants seem to have a lot thinner leaves than my other grows. Almost like they are straight sativas. I haven't grown 3 of them before, but it seems like what ever I grow has HUGE fans that never seem to want to die off and have to get defoled.

These thin fans have pretty much lived their usefulness and either fall off, or come off with an easy tug.

All the stems seem thinner also. They are usually like broom sticks.

They are healthy as can be, just look on the lanky side.

The repeat strain is the Vanilla Kush (all Indica) which were huge leaves last time and this time also appear sativa.

I don't remember this happening last brix grow.

High Brix soil "sativafies" everything. It's a good thing.

Afghan landrace strain. I trimmed it up and got about 12 clones.

Doc, thebulldog asked me above re: willie nelson brix readings.. I referred answer to you. :)
Are you taking readings anymore?

Yep. I take readings when I prune. 12 for a while. Finished at 10. Too small of a pot. Lesson learned.

But the smoke is all I can think about....that and Zoe Jakes. (saw Beats Antique the other night and smoke a ton of Willie Nelson.)

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

This Willie Nelson must be good shit. Anyway, just found out a thread online where Charles Scott says that he actually likes the mother better :) This is a famous Vietnam Black, a pure sativa that turns purplish or black by the end of flowering. Another cross this strain was used for is Orient Express by Ace Seeds. I actually grow it now and it's a very bushy, but relatively short sativa-dominant strain, which is supposed to be ready by 1st week of October.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Kit arrived on Saturday but somehow it arrived at my previous location... 3rd world stoner issues LOL, so I picked it up today. Everything is in order and good. Beautiful presentation :bravo:, thank you for the chalk, Doc. Gonna start cooking it today.

I´m going to germinate beans tomorrow so they are ready next week to start vegging. That will give me 3 weeks of early veg without the kit before transplanting to HB soil, gonna use classic soil mix (33%perlite, 33% EWC, 33% peat, unammended) in 1 gal container. I may add some Calcium Nitrate for early veg. I can use suggestions on this. After I transplant, I will be vegging for 2 more weeks on kit soil before switching to the flower tent. I appreciate any takes in my plan. I would also like to know if any of the products in the kit is usable on the soil (non HB) for this early veg time.
v:Namaste:

Edit: PD. Roots could help, but I´ve got glomerular endomycos so I would prefer to save it for HB soil.

Too bad you're set on starting in other soil.....I worry the roots won't 'hook up' properly when you transplant. Please put a pinch of Roots in with each seed.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I´ve got to start it so I use up the free space on the veg tent. I know its not suggested to do so :( but it will help me to compare and learn. Also it will be just 2 beans, just the 2 first beans (14 gals in total). Gonna use the Roots for the seeds :thanks:

sounds like you're gonna have some good ones there.

WN#1 is what I'm smoking right now.....exclusively. I made shatter out of half of it and the rest gets rolled into nice joints. It's special herb, in a class by itself. I can't get enough of it right now and really don't feel like smoking anything else.
