Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

This is my most recent plant to get cat drench. In this pic it got it for the first time....

In this pic it got it the 2nd time(watering 3 times in between the 2 drenches) the day before the pic...

I realize you didn't direct any of your questions to me. However, this what has worked for me...

Curso, thanks, this helps. It looks from the first picture that you waited - as has been suggested, until the flower is "well-formed". How many weeks in is this for you? (obviously, ever strain is slightly different....)

When (week?) was the second dose given? More than a week? How much are you watering each time? I used 7 gal buckets and go a week or so between waterings (never seemed stressed, leaves never droop - seems it's all they need) so not sure how this all fits together.

Also, what is causing the fuchsia color? LEDs?

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I use GLR in veg so my flower time is a touch faster than running a 18/6 cycle. But it was like 3.5 weeks after pistils when I drenched it the first time. This plant is from a mature mother and vegged for 3 months. I give the 2nd after I water 3 times. I water 3 qt's every other day in 7gl smart pots. Led is the cause of the pink disco light. I try to not count week. I do it more by drenches and frequency I water. I stick to drench, water x3, drench and weekly spraying of brix in younger soil. In my soil I let it go 10 days.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

:welcome:Hey Medman...hang in there bro...it's a little confusing at first but you will catch on...we all did.Your right in saying we are all learning.Doc has done alot of research ,work and trial and error to get where he is today.I'm just glad he shares it all with us!As far as the C.D. goes ...after the pistols are starting to form little clusters of buds, this is when you start timing your C.D.This is the "start" of flowering. If you are patient ,wait until they have been in flower for 3 to 4 FULL weeks ,then give them a good soaking as per Doc's instructions with the C.D. From what iv'e gathered from Doc, Curso,Graytail,Canuck and a few others ,it' (C.D.) works best when flowering is nearing it's most productive stage...when they're really rockin,if ya know what i mean.I gave my present run of MK Ultra 4 full weeks of flowering before the C.D.,NOT 4 weeks from flip!! After 4 days they got another full soaking of it.Now it's just water and tea twice ,then i'l get right back to growth energy and the program.Curso and the gang here all seem to be doing it a little different but with one common denominator...we all wait 3-4 weeks for the first C.D.Cheers bro and welcome to the world of H.B. growing. There's nothin like the quality of herb from this method!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Shit drench timing always got me thinking!

I do it based on look apparently, because the latest plant to get the cat was 3 weeks and two days from the flip. She looked ready to me. I've never counted days from pistils, always from the flip. I wait till the stretch is over, and there is a nice little ball of pisitls. Maybe this next round I'll wait a little longer, but I don't know. I'll try post pics of my 2x car drenched plant and we can all talk about cat timing.

I believe this aspect of the kit is somewhat personal preference.

:rollit:Ya Tav.,it really is personal when it comes to the "shit drench" eh.I just like to wait till the buds have some size first, that's all!Last run i did it after 3 weeks of flowering, not flip. This round i waited another week,so 4 full weeks from flowering start not flip.I know it might seem a little late to some but like you i wait till i'm comfortable with the size before they get IT.Like Doc says...you can grow perfectly healthy produce using only growth energy.I look at the C.D. as a way of really increasing resin production ,thats all.

I think end of stretch is pretty good timing, too. :high-five:

Doc, im in area with a brewery and some farmers are growing hops.. Any experience or feedback with hops grown in HD

Hops are grown very similar to Cannabis.

The Cat Drench is really a personal thing. It will hurt yield if done too early. It won't work quite as well if done late.

You want to time it so that buds are clearly seen and the plant still has lots of growth and vigor. If you wait till senescence, when fan leaves are dying off and all that, the effect won't be as big as if done earlier on.

Having said that, and early cat drench produces some really great buds....just not as many. But they are definitely high quality and a bit different.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Usually, if you're coming into a new thread for the first time, it behooves you to go to the very first page. You can get a very informed
idea of what a thread is about there.

And no...this is not about a dodgy product called Brix. :Namaste:

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Forgive me if you've already covered this, but is this related to that dodgy product called "Brix"?

Hey Stoned,

No, we haven't covered that product here. This thread is about a biological method of growing that attempts to optimize the soil, get a hyperactive microbial/myco colony and foliar feed in order to get the highest sugar/mineral content in the plant.

Read the first 10 or so pages and then skip to the present. It's not stuff you'll hear everyday and even if you don't grow High Brix you might learn something that helps with your organic gardening.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I just harvested A dinafem Haze 2.0 (an auto)and got 3oz dried 3 weeks Ago and a Female Seeds Ice probably 5 oz (wonderful strain) Tonight. I didn't wash the haze 2.0 buds but tonight I went ahead and washed my ice buds so I'm all in on Doc Buds methods. I have pics but the phone I have doesn't have the memory to upload them or I would show them off. I've done outdoors off and on for years I attempted an indoor years ago one other time and told one friend (bad idea!!)... Now I tell no one! I feel that I had fantastic results this time around and would like to improve upon them with Doc Bud's high brix system. I don't have a computer just a phone and I have never posted any information about growing on any internet site. 420 magazine and doc buds high brix growing method is truly exceptional and I thank you.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Mornin Doc! Just a little update on my MK Ultra's. Well ,you know about the bigger pots but i'de like to share a couple other things I've learned this time round with your "kit".First off, they are in week 5 now of flowering(6-1/2 since flip) and look way,way healthier than last run in all aspects,no burnt tips ,no yellowing, still shiney and drinking lots.Even the big fans look good.I can, however see that i'l need to give a little more epsoms ,just a little with the next drink. The things I did differently this time was ,of course bigger pots ,giving the recharge 3 weeks earlier and top dressing with way more w.w. ewc's. (2inches on top) and as well not soaking as much between feedings, but just enough to keep the soil moist.I feel that all these little tweeks are resulting in much healthier plants in general!I am getting a nice feel to using the kit and would just like to pass these tips on to "the gang" Cheers everyone!:allgood:
