Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hey guys, wondering if I missed it here, has one of us started a high brix herb dispo in Maine? I saw a place on google with a storefront offering high brix cannabis. A boutique shop offering the highest brix cannabis available is a dream come true for someone...hope it's someone who actually has high brix herb!

Sometimes happens on some plants when going hard on the cat drenches. Leads to the slight yellowing fade you sometimes see with traditional growers using bottled nutes around week 5 or 6 of flower. I believe it has to do with the delicate balance between nitrate (growth energy) and ammoniacal nitrogen, more catered to flowering and reproduction.

It seems that having a soil with a good amount of both microbial activity, and ionic charge in the soil is pretty important to getting ideal reaction from the cationic shift drinks given back to back. If growth is healthy but slow, and someone has been too light on the growth drenches, the cats seem to cause this yellowing for them. Those that have high energy in there soil through early flower weeks, continuing to cycle growth and transplant, seem to have only positive effects from the cats. Couple cycles ago.. . I did 3 cat drenches back to back in smaller doses as an experiment .. seemed to really bring out the frost but again, I was using growth drench regularly beforehand, slightly more often than transplant, even through first three weeks of flower..

This was its first Cat drench and I'm pretty sure it was starting to yellow ready when I watered it yesterday. It was just more noticeable this morning.

I've been following the direction chart and I'm on week 4 of flower, she got two weeks of GI drench sundays, then with just RO water/tea midweek (I'm giving 10ml of Growth or trans depending on what is called for that week in 1.5 gal ro water with 10-12drops of tea. Yesterday I gave 7ml cat drench also in 1.5gal ro water)

Hi folks - just wanted to drop back in to share info on that Candida CD-1 we were discussing a few pages back - that isn’t “hemp” despite it’s low THC.

It’s lineage is AC/DC x Harlequin that’s been worked and well stabilised to the CBD:THC ratio of 20:1.
:Namaste:

Hey Knife! A couple things. Your drenches sound a bit weak. What size pots? So you gave 2 GIs and straight water before the cats? I think you wanna get trans in before the cats.

:passitleft:

I'm only in 5 gal pots for now. They're what I had on hand.
The chart that came with the kit said GI drench for week 2 and 3 then cat for week 4

Hey guys, looks like I might be developing some issues of some sort on my DDA plant.
Were at day 66 today and I'm seeing some yellowing on the leaves at the very tops she just got her first Cat drench yesterday and I thought it looked like it might be turning a bit yellow but this morning its deffinately got a bit of yellow happening. Ideas?

Le leaves with the brown spots were my fault. Got some overspray on my last Foliar feeding and didn't wipe them off

I had the same issue Knifemaker420. I was told after 2nd cat drench. Do a rescue drench. 1oz trans 6mils tea per gallon water. You may want to wait till after a straight water first.

So cat drench, cat drench, straight water then rescue drench. It is gonna get a little worse before it clears up.

Have you added recharge and ewc as a top dressing yet? I know this is done about week 2 or 3 of flower.

I’m getting bottom leaves, turning yellow, in between drenches. Both my ghost train haze & the. 4 sour diesel & blueberry ? This is my 1st time having a problem, since switching to DBHBS. I’m in week 4 since start of 12/12, and switched to 11/13 starting yesterday. They’re both supposedly 9-10 week strains. Is there anything that can be done to stop the yellowing leaves. I’m using 15ml per gal for both GI & Tdrenches. They’re in ten gl. Bags, and sour diese l is drinking 2gl, every 4 days. The GTH is every 6 days. They will both get 1st cat Drench soon. My environment is not perfect, as sometimes I have low Rh, but I can usually keep it at about 50%. Day temps are about 80/82, night 70/75. Every time I Drench, I find maybe 6/7 yellow leaves, so in a few weeks, my leaves will be gone !!

So you're in 10 gallon pots and every time you feed them, they are each getting 2 gallons of water with 30ml of drench added in? That seems a bit on the heavy side for feeding to me, especially for a Haze cross. What run soil are you in? I just got done frying a group of plants in 3rd run thinking they weren't getting enough of the drenchs, when in actuality, it was the opposite.

Then again, bottom leaves turning yellow, normally means they are root bound, but I'm not sure if they react the same in bags. I know some people have had problems with the kit in grow bags, but others have done fine.

Also, it could be your RH depending on how low it gets. 50 is good, but where does it bottom out?

Personally, I'd cut the amount of drench your using in half, and see how they do. You are doing a plain watering between drenches, right?

OK.....that's not exactly my method AND I think we solved your problem!

My method is double strength, bucket, and DUNK UNTIL THERE ARE NO MORE BUBBLES. THIS USUALLY TAKES ANYWHERE FROM 30 SECONDS TO TWO MINUTES MAX.

You're drowning the roots, which is why you're having trouble! Prune 'em back and only dunk till there's no bubbles and make sure they're good and dry before dunking again.
Doc, et al, just wanted to follow up on the above. Took your advice, Doc, and let them dry really well and then kept the dbl drenches under two minutes. Once they stabilized, I gave them a Rescue Drench and transplanted to 7s when they dried out. They really took off with the extra room in the 7s. Here’s a couple pics at day 54 from seed. The first three pics are Purple Satellite and the last two Panama (all Ace seeds).

Soil energy too low maybe?
So, what sequence of events need to occur, to remedy my low soil energy? And if indeed it's low, how did it get low ??
This is 1st. run soil, cooked for 30 days. I did the recharge at 2 weeks into 12/12. Don't understand why the soil needs recharged, two weeks since transplant, but I just follow the directions. I also changed my drenching method, as I'm now feeding everything from the top. Actually the tray method was easier, but I think a percentage of the nutrients were getting filtered out, by the bag. And up till this grow, I had been doing the drenches at 10ml per gl., now I upped it to 15ml per gl. . Don't get me wrong, all these plants are very healthy up top, where it counts, but I remember doc saying, how we can't expect hi brix, if we don't have leaves !! And the SD&BBerry plants are worse than the ghost train haze.
I GI drenched the 4 GTH today, and they had no bad leaves. You think the SD&BB could be a heavy feeder, needing more N ??

Show a pic of entire plant or plants. You said they are in 10 gallon fabric pots?
I took off all the yellow leaves yesterday, so at my next drench which will be water/tea, I will then post a pic. of a whole plant. Thank you !!

Im sure there's a few mainers using docs kit and they probably are not large. Several local dispensaries are using bottle nutes and harmful pesticides material on their plants. I won't name a local dispensary but there was one company who paid off multiple violations / fines and never made changes to their grow. I doubt large groups would ditch bottle nutes and go for high brix simply because of time and money. They can grow and finish plants in a short amount of time where soil grows like a high brix takes time. :)

Im on my first run and I'm liking it so far. Ive got another first run kit cooking and it'll be my 2nd time in high brix :) how about you? Are you in central Maine area?

Thanks for the get back Morglie !! I'm playing in 1st. run soil.
I'm mixing 120ml drench into 8 gl. filtered tap water. And the haze has completely stopped yellowing. The SD&BBs are eating every 4 days now, while the haze cross every 6 days. Do you know if it matters which drench is used just before, the 1st cat drench ?? Next drench due is a water, but the way these plants are blooming, I'd like to make the next drench , the cat ?? But, I'd almost swear that I read somewhere, that a water drench is best before the cat ?

I always thought it was GI water CAT but could be wrong

Maybe a rescue drench could help? I’m still learning myself

I know I’ve seen some people say they have to feed 2x-3x the amount on certain strains to really get the roots in order
