Thanks Gray for sharing your experience. I sensed that it was the heavy Cats, and your knowledge and explanation of the chemistry/biology of it is quite enlightening. An “aha” moment for sure!My two cents:
@FutRfarmer If they haven't perked up a little by this afternoon, pour 16oz of water over the tops of the pots to be sure there's enough moisture in the new soil.
@DopyLemontree Yeah, that's Cat burn. I was rereading the schedule somewhere, and Doc doesn't recommend the high side of dosages for Cationic Drench. But like you said, it's all about the trichs - the produce will be good. When we drench with Cat, we switch the electrical charge in the soil and that causes the minerals that have attached themselves to the clays and humus in the soil to fall away and become available to the biota. There's a wholesale alteration in the biota population as they adapt to the new circumstances and the plant's exudates change, etc. The old biota die away and aren't available to perform their former duties, and if the switch gets hung up, the plant gets partially starved while everything adapts. In my experience, heavy Cat drenches rarely go well for leaf heath. It would probably help now to give them a DeStress foliar.
@Amy Gardner That claw isn't bad at all, but it sure doesn't look like it wants anymore N right now, so I think your instincts are good. You might consider doing another Trans/Tea this time, or just a 1/4 Transwater. It would probably enjoy a Brix foliar at this point, too. If it were mine, I'd drench with Trans/Tea and Brix it same day.
