DobeWan's Perpetual Adventure 2.0: The Reboot

My dad sent me a text telling me about how he tried out his new Volcano this afternoon. He said that my brother and I should have put him onto it years ago!

:volcano-smiley:

About to go open the doors at lights on. I'll see if I can get a pic up. It's so exciting to peek in these days! I think I'm more excited now than at this point on any previous grow, even my first grow. On my first grow, I was a little over my head and at this point was more worried about whether I could get them through to the end. On this grow, I'm feeling good about things, so I look forward to seeing the plants progress.

It does feel great to get some confidence going into a grow. Big difference not second guessing everything your doing. Just have some fun

Don't second guess your skills. You have some great ones. I pick up some pointers from your journal. Like I don't know that I will start so many plants at once again...LOL

Thanks for the compliment on the Blue Dream. She has her issues, but if we like the smoke I have some good notes to work from to make the next grow of her better.

I have to get to my thread to answer your question now.

A couple of shots of the flower tent tonight. No real work on the plants, not even bending at this point. At 17F stretch is almost done. I'm extremely happy with the shape these ladies have taken, and excited to see the results in flower.

And a now-rare veg tent update! You can read the labels, but that's Green Crack and Chemdawg in the front, and Tuna Kush in the back. All are doing well at 13V. It'll be interesting to see how the size in veg compares over the next few weeks under the T5HOs after just growing under a ton of LED light.

My Pink Kush seedling is further away from the light, and the head hasn't popped up yet anyway. It seems I'm not meant to grow that strain!

The clones look a little pathetic. The "top" 4 are Liberty Haze (the one closest to the camera looks to have wilted) and the the "bottom" two are Royal Gorilla. I just want one of each to survive and I'm golden. Liberty Haze because it was a winner of a plant and I'm all out of seeds, Royal Gorilla because I'm all out of seeds and although the growth hasn't been anything special, she might be a strain I want to hang onto. If I can get a couple of mothers to stick in the propagation tent I'll be happy.

Have you ever watched any of Harley Smith's video's on the tube? He has a some very good information in his cloning video. If I remember right its Kelp, Yucca and Fulvic Acid to help clones out.

I have not but I’ll check it out. I will admit I didn’t give these clones the best chance, but the reality of life meant I couldn’t be spritzing them constantly for the first few days and things got drier than I’d have liked more than once. My only real goal was keeping one of each alive so I’m not too worried about these - I can see the signs that they’ve all rooted with how vertical they’ve stayed. I’m just watering the rockwool now and leaving the lid off of the tray so it’s survival of the fittest time!

Love your garden! Everything looks great and I’m sending all the good vibes to your Pink Kush!! Come on Lil baby, get up and grow with newty;)
Not sure what I’ll do if I open the tent in an hour and there’s no liftoff from little Pink Kush! Her taproot didn’t come far out of the seed after it first appeared but I planted anyway. After a couple of days of no action I fear that even if she comes up, she’ll be a slow grower.

I still have a ton of time and I’ll give this seedling time to come up... but I’m considering starting another PK seed to make sure I have it. I expect Violator Kush to give me enough high quality meds to last a while but I need the variation that would come from having multiple night time / bad day options!

I agree and need/want multiple strains in my weed pantry;)

It’s awesome to have the selection! If only for being able to switch things up and not get too tolerant of one strain.

Pink Kush just doesn’t want to happen. It’s as if it germinated, but then just stopped the process. I knew when I planted it that something was up as the taproot just seemed to stop extending out of the seed. I’m not going to turf it yet but after 3 days of nothing, I highly doubt it’ll get to where I want it even if it comes up.

I think I still have about 8-10 weeks before the spot opens in the flower tent for her anyway so I think I’m going to germ yet another seed. If I keep having issues I might have to reach out to Reeferman and ask what’s up. I didn’t do anything wrong to these seeds and they just don’t want to get going.

I’ll have to ask SwaggNiF but I think my PK is from Reeferman too? I stuck them straight into peat pellets and it takes 4-5 days from my calculations lol fingers crossed on day 3! Nothing has popped up
I checked out the Pink Kush seedling. The taproot had extended out slightly more but nothing else. It's almost like the same thing that happened to the first seedling happened to this one, just earlier in the cycle - the shell was still tightly on. I think for my next attempt I might try soaking the seed first, hopefully that would loosen up the shell enough to get it off with minimal intervention. I'm disappointed that I've lost 2 seeds already.

I bet yours are from Reeferman newty - so keep me posted as to how it goes.

19F!

Feels like stretch is coming to an end. I didn't have too much of it.

I missed getting a shot of an AxOG flower. I'll post some close ups on the weekend.

Liberty Haze - She's really tall, I have her stand set on the lowest possible setting.

Royal Gorilla - Small flowers but lots of frost and some cool brown / purple hairs on some tops.

Violator Kush - I'm really excited about how she has stacked up.

I see I'm unsubscribed to most of my journals. Will have to go and find them and subscribe again. Sigh...

Anyway... looking stellar in here.

Will do! Nothing yet, I just stick them straight in the rooter so I’m not expecting anything until maybe tomorrow or the next day! Beautiful flowers Dobe, which one is your tri??

Amnesia x OG - and although most of the offshoots from the damaged branch never made it to the canopy - the branch itself survived. Just like Scrog said, there's a massive knot where the branch almost came off.

Most of mine ended up surviving, at least I think so, under Watched Threads. I've found the navigation to be an adjustment, but I'm sure part of that is just being used to how the site used to work. Hopefully the new format will feel like second nature in time.

In any case Blaze I appreciate you finding your way back here and stopping by!

A trimming tip I shared in Sam's journal that's worth posting up here too:

I like to take a spoonful of coconut oil on a paper towel and use it to keep things from getting too sticky while I'm trimming. I put on a pair of those sterile gloves and rub some coconut oil between my fingers and on the blades of my trimmers. I reapply as needed and use the paper towel to wipe any gunk off of the trimmers when it starts to accumulate. Rolling a little coconut oil between your fingers is great for getting the sticky stuff off as well. I'm a real stickler for getting as much leaf off of the buds as possible - I like them cleaned closely. So it takes me a long time to trim. This helps a ton and saves me time and frustration. I highly recommend you give it a try.
