DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

do you have a small fan blowing on those girls? it will help strengthen those skinny legs and help them support themselves. flouros are fine for vegging, seeds and clones, that is what I use as well, you can almost have them touching so long as they aren't too hot, otherwise you'll cook them.

Yes, I have had a fan on the girlies the whole time :thumb:

And the lights are about 3-4 inches above them. And it's a very cool light. At least I feel no heat :smoke2:

:cheertwo: To all the help!! Thanks for looking out for the new girl (and the triplets!)

well krip rite now im running 8 3300's for the whole grow, like i just said in RV's journal, i read in one of these bibles that 3300 is good through the whole grow, and as you can see i haven't changed bulbs yet, and i used them through the whole first grow and i think they did an amazing job, thats my opinion though..but yea that party bulb shit was just a thought, a funny one to me at that lol...but yea it never hurts to think of new shit you know... :tokin: lol

Yup, you can use the 3300's thru the whole grow, but the 3300's have more of a red spectrum, so will be better for bloom. The reason you can use them thru the whole grow is that it's better vegging with a bloom bulb than flowering with a veg bulb! :)

You definately want the right spectrums in flower, but veg is much more forgiving.

well they do a good enough job for me, instead of spendin shit loads of money on bulbs.. so yea im happy with what i got, they've always done a good job, its just me that does the messin up, but now that i know more then when i started this grow i think my next grow is gonna be way better then all my rest!!! cant wait to see how these bulbs do this time around, cause the first time was shitty but i harvested, and then the second time was a flop, so this grow has no choice but to be better lol, but again next grow is gonna be the shit, cant wait!!! Growin Weed is F'in Awsome !!!! :thumb: :tokin:

Hey Mr. Krip. Awesome plants you got. Was wondering, how long do you keep the drip going for these plants on your DWC?

Hey Twelve! Thank you! :thankyou:

I run the drip 24x7 through the entire grow. This is not really necessary, and many people who put an airstone in the res will actually turn the drip off entirely once the roots hit the res and just use the waterfarms as a DWC. Other people will run it for 5 minutes every half hour, or some regular schedule like that.

Since the cost to run the air pump is minimal, and I have the airstone in the res running 24x7, it's just easier for me to "set it and forget it" and leave it running all the time. I don't think the electricity I'd save would even pay to have a timer on the pump! :)

Hey growers! If I were to run an inline fan , through my lights, and out of the exhaust fan opening already in the room... Should I disconnect/ remove the exhaust fan and just let the air PUSH out from the inline fan?
I am not sure if the weak existing exhaust fan would help or hinder? Please chime in, and explain, I like to know the WHY before I do stuff :thanks:

If the exhaust fan was a much lower CFM (which it probably is) then it would just restrict the powerful fan from doing it's job. Give the more powerful fan a clear opening.

EDIT: If your running long runs of ducting, the second fan placed further down the line may help boost ventillation.

Just checking in Mr. Krip. Like the new avatar and I see your still as helpful and as busy as ever! :) :welldone: on your new plants. I'm sure they're loving the new home. :goodluck:

:peacetwo:

Really glad to see you back, MacG! :thumb:

You probably got the PM I sent you a couple weeks ago? I hadn't seen you on in a while and was getting worried about you!

I guess while I was honing my growing skills here on 420 with my cab grow, you were starting to hone your lumberjack skills by growing those redwoods of yours outdoors! :MoreNutes:

I think they might feature your harvest on "American Loggers"!

Yeah, I'm definately busy and most definately trying to repay some of the help I received along the way.

There's a good group of people here on :420:

Thanks for the reply, Krip! Also, another question. How often do YOU change the rez? Do you add in more nutes and Ph it or dump the entire rez and add in fresh batch?

I do a complete res change once per week. When I do, I completely disassemble the waterfarms, soak the pieces in a bleach solution, rinse thoroughly and re-assemble.

During the week, I'll top off the res with plain, NON-PH'd water, then adjust the PH of the res as needed.

The waterfarms hold 2 gallons of nutes in the bottom res and the "rule of thumb" is that you do a complete res change, then top off with plain water daily, as needed, until you've replaced a total of two gallons of H2O (basically, you've added as much as the res holds), then you should do a complete res change again.

I find that, until late into flower, they're typically drinking less than 1/2 gallon per day, so weekly changes tend to work fine. Occassionally, if they've been drinking heavily, I'll give them a "booster" dose of nutes during the week.

The best way to do this really, is by measuring PPM's. If PPM's are going down, it means she's taking in more nutes than water and needs more nutes. If PPM's are going up, she's taking in more water than nutes and just needs a water top-off.

Thanks, OMM! :thanks:

Yeah, I've been helping (I hope! :)) a lot of people in the last 24 hours or so.

The whole MOTM thing is funny in that I have such great friends & supporters here, I think they're more upset about what happened with the voting than I am!

That alone really means so much more to me than some free nutes, you have no idea! :circle-of-love:

OH DAMN ! So the 'existing' fan, it curves up into the vaulted ceiling/ roof (no crawl space) and ties into the the bathroom fan!! then vents out. The exhaust tubing actually sizes down .. what looks like... a 2 inch opening! :hmmmm:
You think I will be in construction mode and put in a new vent??

I am going to add this to my journal. Thanks for helping me out! Maybe swing by my journal and give me your 2 cents worth?

CHEAP & EASY DIY CFL LIGHT REFLECTOR

I ran across this video earlier today and, since yesterday there were several conversations happening about lighting & CFL's, I thought I'd post it here:
