DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

damn i gotta get me some of that SSU. u can really see the change its made, a week ago u had a little frost but now them girls are covered !!!!

Suka, I agree on the effects of the SSU, but again, I haven't done any controlled tests, so it's hard to judge how much is really due to the SSU.

That being said, it's incredibly economical to use as a foliar spray and the small bottle I bought (8 oz. bottle for $11.88) should last me for literally dozens of grows just using as a foliar, so I'm definately gonna stick with it. If I had room for more plants, I'd consider a controlled test, but with only one or two plants in flower at any given time, I'm just gonna keep using it.

they do say talkin to them is good, i talk to them once in awhile... hopein it does somethin lol...:tokin:

When you talk to them, you're exhaling CO2, so it can't hurt! Nice DIY, though probably not that effective! :)

They look great Mr. Krip! I love the pics. They look so cool under the LED. Your timing sounds just about right to me. :goodjob:

Thanks, Blue! :thankyou:

Yep, I'm pretty sure it'll be 4-5 weeks now. The next week or two should be very telling!

WEEKLY UPDATE

VEG

All the girls on the veg side seem to be doing fine EXCEPT for the hempy haze. She was really doing well, and I did a pretty agressive topping the other night. Today, she was all droopy. Her hempy was totally dry, so it's either that she needed some water, or possibly, she's getting rootbound in that small container. I really don't think it has anything to do with the topping, but I'm sure the extra stress of the topping didn't help whatever the other issue is.

I topped off all the hempys today and also gave her a foliar that had some SuperThrive in it, so we'll see how she does over the next 24 hours, or so. If I don't see an improvement soon, I'll toss the stunted Lucy and move the haze to a bigger hempy.

Here's a goup shot of veg:

You can see how droopy the haze got:

The PE, though, is still looking and smelling great!

FLOWER

We just finished day #50 of 12/12 on the AK and #48 on the haze. The changes on the flower side this week have been incredible! :grinjoint:

A LOT more mass has been put on the buds and a LOT more trichs are visible. When I changed res's this morning, I upped the PPM's again by about 15% and PH'd a little to the low side (5.5), since the PH has been rising the first couple of days, I figure I'd take advantage of the swing and let it absorb some of the nutes it does easier at the lower PPM's, then not have to PH it down as much tomorrow or Tuesday. I also gave them another fungicide/miticide foliar as a preventative.

I'm estimating four or maybe even five more weeks before harvest, so I continued the Big Bud, and based on how they look next week, will start the Overdrive either then or the following week. I'm still planning on TWO harvests from the AK, taking her top colas first, the the lower buds when I harvest the haze.

Take a look at the size of these colas today :hugs::

Here's some closer views...I tried to get 'em two-at-a-time:

And, when you get a little closer, you can see the trichs and how dense they're starting to get:

Hey Mr Krip! How do you foliar feed? Do you worry about it getting on the buds? I wonder if there would be any point after I remove almost all the fan leaves?

Mr Krip you've got a serious bug problem! Looks like a mutant killer japanese hornet.

damn u would think its a hermie by the size of them calyxs, almost there bro bet u cant wait huh, all these pics makes me wanna cut my shit down and smoke... :tokin;

LOL...thanks, Suka. Luckily I have a "hold-me-over stash" to get me through until they finish. I'm definately anxious to give her a test drive, but learned a long time ago that patience is a virtue, so when she's done, THEN I won't be able to wait! :grinjoint:

Looking good Mr Krip. :)

Sure wish you would get a good camera! Just joking, great as usual.:grinjoint:

That haze did droop....maybe your right about root bound. Wait a day are two and see if she comes back. :peace:

I'm actually using a simple camera-phone to take all these pics. It's the only digital camera I have and it doesn't even have a flash, but lighting isn't really a problem in the cab. :)

The LED lights do make them look very cool and a few weeks ago, or so, I started using a photo editor to adjust the sharpness (and depending on lights, sometimes brightness/contrast) before I upload them. They look pretty good to start, considering it's a 3.2 mpx camera on the phone, but sharpening them really helps bring out the details in the pics.

I'll update on the haze after lights-on today.

Blue, you missed it when I responded to you a couple of days ago...it's at the bottom of this post

I do spray down the buds - I don't drench them, but do mist them. I just give plenty of time to dry. I figure they'd get rained on outdoors, so it can't hurt them too bad, just need to be careful not to overdo it.

Hey Mr K! Thanks I did totally miss that post dunno how that could have happened :lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke:

What do you mean it could be worse than reminding me of a Beatles classic - you kids today have no respect for the masters :)

About the time I came of age the most important thing anybody under the age of 30 cared about was whether or not Paul McCartney was really dead, and the clues were there in the songs. Ok we cared about trying to get laid and ending the Vietnam war too, but it was top 3.

Wish I could convey to you the fun we had sitting around getting high and playing Sgt. Pepper over and over and over and over. I felt very grown up and profound lol!.

And back then you needed a steady hand to replay a song, you had to gently drop the stylus just at the right spot and pray you didn't cause a scratch. Memories.

Do you apply the foliar at the recommended strength on the instructions? Thanks bro.

LOL...I'm not that much of a kid! I had Sgt. Pepper's on 33 1/3 RPM, too! ;)

Yeah, I do use the recommended strength. And, I've been doing it weekly, per the instructions, EXCEPT for the first week when I did it twice.

HEMPY HAZE UPDATE

I just checked in on the hempy haze and when I opened the veg cab, she practically jumped out and gave me a hug to thank me for the nutes and water yesterday. I guess she was depressed cuz' she thought I was neglecting her, but she now knows I still love her and I've promised never to make her go that long without something to drink again. :)

On a slightly more serious note...now that the haze and PE both have some pretty good roots, and being both are in relatively small containers, I need to water more often or move them to larger hempys.

A fellow vinyl man! I wish I knew what happened to my album collection, I honestly have no idea. Probably the same place that my comic book and baseball card collections ended up. Somehow after getting married, raising a kid and moving multiple times they got forgotten about and lost.

How big a container are they in? 2 liters are a pretty good size and don't take up much space so that may be an easy option for you - I'd use the green ones so you don't need to worry about painting or taping them.

Mr Krip. That makes them even more incredible my friend. :Namaste:
