DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

FASCINATING! :thumb:

Those bedtimers are awesome too! :goodjob:

I admire your dedication to getting those shots! :goodjob: That's got to be pretty difficult to capture through a loop.

RE the Eyeclops and Celestron units: I have the Celestron and am going to start using it soon to keep a good eye on the trichs as mine suck. I bought a few for QC work and $40 rings a bell.
I once saw the Eyeclops setup in an interactive display at a store. It's an adult tool in kids clothing. Xlr8 is right... it's surprisingly good.

Thanks, WnF. Yeah, it definately takes a LOT of patience trying to do it with a loupe! :)

I wasn't "poo-pooing" the Eyeclops at all. I figure everyone that's mentioned it to me can't be wrong - a lesson I learned from not listening to everyone on the STG cubes! :grinjoint:

I didn't realize you had a Celestron!!! How do you like it? How is the picture quality? I'm a little worried that the cam is only 1.3mpx, but at 150x magnification, it may be fine. Would you recommend it over the Eyeclops for our "hobby"?

Beautiful buds and pics Mr. Krip! Droolworthy! :bravo:

Thank you, XLR8! :thankyou:

You've got some nice looking buds, too! Sorry it took me so long to find your journal! :tokin:

UPDATE WITH PICS

Once again, thanks to everyone for the help, good wishes, and compliments! I would not have made it this far without the help from all of you!
:thankyou:

I actually have some real things to update today, instead of posting just pics, but even if I didn't have an update, I'd probably still post more bud shots. I'm getting addicted to the taking pics! :)

OK, so first, I did some rearranging of the veg side to start getting more light to Lucy (front-right) and less light to the Hempy Haze (back-right) which is really growing quickly and actually getting quite bushy compared to the haze in flower:

v15.jpg

The first PE top I cloned seems to be struggling in her hempy. I really expected to see some vertical growth by now. I don't have a close-up, but she's the one browning in the red solo cup above in front-left.

However, the other four PE tops I cloned 10 days ago all look very healthy, and, since it's been 10 days, I checked the bottoms of the cubes for roots and found this:

cl.jpg

The AK clone I'm gonna officially stop calling the "AK clone" and just start calling the hempy AK. She'll always be a clone, but is definately out of the seedling/clone stage and is a full-fledged plant:

ak40.jpg

Lucy is still a runt (looks bigger than she is in the pic!), but at least growing a little vertically. Still a little too short to LST, but I have her under better light now, so we'll see what happens:

ls55.jpg

I mentioned how bushy the haze has gotten. I trimmed her taller stalks yesterday. I wouldn't even call it "topping"...more just an attempt at keeping her in control for another month or so!

hz4.jpg

And the PE still looks great. I should have taken a close up of the "maze" her branches have formed due to the UBT and then the second topping - It's pretty cool! Plus, she now has lots of tops going and it has really helped keep her height in control during this extended veg period:

pe20.jpg

It's now something like 32 days of 12/12 on the flower side (two days less on the haze), and everything continues to develop nicely:

Yeah, it's nothing major. I'll take some pics with it and post them. I haven't used the Eyeclops enough to compare, but suffice to say that the kiosk they had set up was both fun and surprising. The Celestrons work fine where they're being used and although not great, they are an inexpensive micro-viewing/inspection solution. Don't know if it justifies the cost to purchase them for hobby, but they do open another world with digital ease.

Makes me laugh when I consider how good we truly do have it. To think this stuff can be most simply grown with sun, soil and shit. :laughtwo:

Great pics! Everything's looking beautiful Krip! :goodjob:

DONT FORGET TO VOTE 4 PLANT :420: OF THE MONTH!

FLOWER UPDATE

Things are still growing strong in the flower side on Day #33 of flower for the AK and Day #31 for the haze. The AK has about 10 huge colas that, if/when they fill in, should all be over 12" long! I sure hope they fill in! :grinjoint:

They look like they will...Here's a sample of what they look like now:

NUTE QUESTIONS

I'm planning my res changes for this weekend and hoping you guys can help me with a few questions I have regarding nutes.

I have been using the small bottles of GH grow/micro/bloom nutes that came with the waterfarms and I am about to run out of the bloom. I also have AN grow/micro/bloom nutes that I had intended on using originally. I was just using up the GH nutes before switching.

So, here are the questions:

1) Would there be any problem using the GH Micro and AN Bloom formula's together? Instinctively, I would assume I should use either all GH or all AN and not mix the grow/micro/bloom, but perhaps this is not correct? I have no real "need" to mix them, since I can use up the rest of the GH nutes on the veg plants and just switch to AN for the ones in flower, although, I suspect at some point I'll have something left over. :)

2) Assuming I should use the AN nutes and not mix with the GH, should I lower PPM's at all when I transition to the AN nutes to see how the plants respond, or if I maintain the same PPM's, will they be safe?

3) Any other advice on switching from the GH to the AN nutes is appreciated!

I have liked using the GH nutes simply from the perspective that it's really helped keep the PH in control. I haven't had to adjust PH in the waterfarms at all, yet, this week. When I topped with NON-PH'd water yesterday and then checked PH 30 minutes later, it was at 5.74 which is EXACTLY where I put it last Sunday! :)

I'm hoping PH will be as stable with the AN! :wood:

Thanks for the help!

QUICK PIC UPDATE (MORE PICS THAN UPDATES!)

OK...I checked with AN and they said that I should simply start my week #6 plants on a week #6 dose of AN nutes and not to reduce the PPM's. They indicated that AN nutes tend to have a lower PPM than GH by default, so I could expect a lower reading without reduced results.

I put the one PE clone that was showing roots yesterday into her own mini-hempy and tossed the first PE clone that was browning. It had some good roots going, so probably could have let it go, but conserving the space and only the strongest will survive! :)

I also topped all the big hempy's, including the AK, off with 1150PPM grow nutes with 2ml/gal of DM Zone all PH'd at 6.07.

Here's some flower pics, as it's been almost 24 hours since I've posted any!

See if you can count how many buds are in the first pic! :grinjoint::

I almost forgot to mention...I ordered some SnowStorm Ultra. I'm gonna see if I can frost them up some more. I will ONLY use as a foliar spray. It's important NOT to add to a res with airstone!

Your gunna have some monsters in no time!

Thanks 007! I actually subscribed to your journal a couple of days ago, but just haven't had anything to add to the convesation yet, so haven't posted, but I am subbed. I'll stop by later & post. Goodluck on your grow, as well!

Gorgeous girls!

It'll be great to see how the Snow Storm does. Are you spraying all of them, or just a select few?

Thanks, Endive!

Well, believe it or not, there's only two plants in flower right now! :)

I did some serious LST earlier and the AK takes up just about the whole 2'x2' cab with a little room left over for me to squeeze in the haze.

The haze is pretty sparse, fighting for room, so, I'll probably just spray both of them. :MoreNutes:

I've been reading a lot on the SSU over the last few days. Several people swear by it, and post nice crystally bud pics to back it up, but others say they ran side by side tests and it didn't make a difference.

I've heard others say that it definately improved trich production, but didn't effect the quality of the meds (try to figure that one out!).

My feelings, after all the reading I've done, is that it most likely won't hurt anything (as long as I keep it out of the res!), so I'm willing to give it a shot to see if I can notice any changes related to treating them and perhaps do my own side-by-side tests in the future when I'm growing out two of the same strain or even two clones from the same mother.

:peacetwo:

Thought I would ring :wood:in about a couple things. :surf:

Here is a link that will tell you all about how to use HCO Products, you can use with airstone but must be careful & if using chem salts like DM Gold Range or AN's Sensi Grow/Bloom not really a issue. This gentlemen has run it both with & without airstones, also has ran soil.

Humboldt County’s Own Arsenal – Snow Storm Ultra – Bushmaster – Gravity – Purple Maxx « Gorilla Gardener Hydroponics Supply

I have all 3 products & plan on doing it up on this next one cycle.:MoreNutes:
Really interested in the Bushmaster & the gravity, thought what the hell might as well do all 3:reading420magazine:

By the by 8 for 8 (4 Sour Diesel & 4 White Rhino Feminized), here's a pics of tonight.

Picture_327.jpg
:yummy:

Also I thought you would check with AN, and the anwser is what I would have said, AN is really good shit & any really good line of nutes adds buffers to help control the ph.

Wonder how you would do with some Gravity? You can start adding 1ml weekly starting week #4 of flowering & run continiously, supposed to make some real "Nugs" from what everyone who uses it says.

Happy Grows ~H~

:hmmm:

Hey I was just thinking (so watch out, lmoa!), didn't you say you had Overdrive? I think that is ANs' version of Gravity & it's either X Factor or Bud Candy that is like the Snow Storm Ultra; I always get hose 2 confused!

Hey Bro! Your babies are looking good!

I've been using Big Bud & Bud Candy, and do have Overdrive, also.

I believe Big Bud is similar to Gravity. It's a bloom enhancer that's supposed to make buds swell larger than normal.

Bud Candy, I thought, was AN's version of molassas. I believe it provides carbs, but it's supposed to make the buds more potent while boosting aroma & taste.

Two weeks before flush, I'll start the Overdrive which is supposed to boost bloom productivity late into flowering. After the plant would have "normally" stopped producing buds, it stimulates production of more resins & terpenoids to (hopefully) increase harvests.

I'm not aware of an AN product that's specifically for trich production, but they may have one - They do make a LOT of products!
