Dick23rk's 2nd Journal - Miscellaneous Crop King Seeds Adventures

I had the same issue with stretch on an OG Kush and a Liberty Haze.

Barney's? How'd that work for you? I have one of those seeds around here somewhere. Do you have a smoke report posted anywhere? Grow report (or journal)? I thought to save it until next Spring, then try my luck with it. I'm wondering if/how I'll like it (and if/how it'll like me ;) ), likelihood of hermaphrodism, likelihood of finding a keeper phenotype with just the one seed, how it grows, feeds, smells during the grow, smells/tastes after harvest, pretty much any information I can get in a nutshell (thanks).

Yes! It is Barney's Farm. Unfortunately I have no answers to the above as this is my first time growing it and right now, she's just a little seeding trying to push out her second node. She'll be grown outdoors over summer, so I won't have a report until April probably. She'll get real big if I can control pests and all the other scary variables.

My next indoor grow will be about 8 autos from 3 different strains. I will keep a journal too. The other grow will be the Hindu Kush. They're seeds I collected myself from Sri Lanka.

I had the same issue with stretch on an OG Kush and a Liberty Haze. They were nice and close to a T5 though. Any closer would've been too hot. The next lot seemed okay. I was trying to figure out if it could have been something else. They're under 24hrs of light at the moment.

Right on bud, thanks for stopping in. I have some Kush genetics mixed in here myself, can't wait to see them grow.

Some plants just like to keep on growing regardless of how close to the lights they are, most times they are sativa's or hybrids lol. Mine are all under 2 - T5's as well, 54W a piece @ 6500K. I got some more flouro's today, will be in my update tomorrow. I am keeping all my seedlings under 18/6 schedule, I like to save a little on power :)

I am pretty sure I seen some journals around for the OG Kush but not sure about the Liberty Haze. I haven't been around the strain report section lately. Been so busy, I need to get researching some of my own strains real soon haha

Can't wait to see these next grows, Hindu Kush would be great to watch :) Pretty cool that you collected them yourself!

**Update Time**

Hey everyone, didn't get around to doing an update yesterday, was pretty busy when we got home from the city doing a bit of shopping. Also did some shopping for the garden :) Not much but it's something, didn't have a lot to spend. Grabbed some new fluorescent lights for the veg room to add a little extra lighting and some other little goodies.. I was going to get light sockets and cfl's with some wire and make my own light setup but these fluoro's cost about the same in the end and easier to set up. Lets get started and we will lay it all out as to what's been done in here.

First up, we will talk about the new lights I guess. I grabbed 2 T8 ballasts (2 bulb x 48") and 4 - 32W bulbs. 2 bulbs are 5000K and 2 are 4100K. Cost right around $100 all together and no wiring required, plug in and go! So now this is what I have in the tent...

2 x T5 6500K @ 54W
2 x T8 5000K @ 32W
2 x T8 4100K @ 32W
(All bulbs are 48")

This leaves me with a total of 236 watts, better than just the 108 watts I had in there before, now we also have 3 different spectrums of light :) Instead of trying to move all these lights up and down and getting frustrated, I decided to put my little work table in there for time being to hold the babies, this will have to change eventually as they get bigger of course. Works for now, I will just keep finding things to set under the plants lol.

Some of the other little gadgets I got pretty cheap while out shopping..

I could not pass up a couple of these power bars with built in timers!! Regular $25, marked down 50% with a $10 instant rebate thru our power company, got them for $2.50 each! They also had a ton of led lights for around the house for $1 after rebate to haha.. Anyway here is the power bar, it has 7 programmable settings and can be set daily, all week, weekdays or weekends. Worked for me at lights on this morning!
SAM_43181.JPG

I also got a new digital thermometer.. I wanted one with a hygrometer built in but I wasn't paying $30-50 for one at this time after getting the lights, I will wait until I see one on sale, everything is always overpriced!
This thermometer will track my min and max temps each day, I can just reset it whenever, it also gives my the temp inside the tent (probe is set up in one of the pots) and outside the tent where the device sits. Has an alarm and calendar as well, got it for 8 bucks lol
SAM_43191.JPG

Got another small fan as well, this one is blowing toward the lights over top of the plants to keep the heat moving away from them. I have the other one set down below the table keeping the air moving in somewhat of a circular motion.
SAM_4315.JPG

The other thing I picked up was a bale of ProMix HP with Mycorrizae. Once the photo girls get up potted again I am going to need it so I don't use all of my seedling mix. This promix is high porosity which makes it harder to over water and doesn't come with any nutrients in it, all it has it the mycorrizae. Here is what it's made up of for those who don't know..

65-75% Sphagnum Peat Moss
Perlite - high porosity improving drainage and air flow
Limestone - helps adjust ph to optimum range, also a source of Calcium and Magnesium (good since I use RO water)
Wetting agent - a substance that helps let the water penetrate evenly throughout
Mycorrizae - a growth enhancer for the roots to help with nutrient uptake, also adds to stress resistance

Now.. On to the plants!!

We will try to make this part go a little more quick since I over explained everything in the first portion of the update haha. Got all the babies planted and plastic set over them to keep humidity up til they pop. The others are still moving along fine, lets have a peek..

CB Dutch Treat
Day - 23
Still nice and healthy green, still no watering since transplant, not even sure how many days ago that was right this minute.. Hopefully the roots are searching around in there, next watering will be around the outside edges since the transplant plug may still be damp.
SAM_4321.JPG

Hash Plant
Day - 23
This gal seems to be perky and bushy today, getting some of its color back now so it must have liked that light feeding back at the time of transplanting. Just another happy one, awaiting a drink as well I would imagine, likely wait til tomorrow.
SAM_4322.JPG

CB Dream
Day - 4
Not much to say here. I knocked this one over last night and quickly picked it back up, some dirt spilled out, I pushed it back down into the cup and topped it up with new dirt. Needless to say she's still perky this morning.
SAM_4324.JPG

Purple Kush
Day - 4
Still a wee one but it's coming along! Really not much to report on this baby today, still coming along strong :)
SAM_4326.JPG

Train Wreck & Revolver
The one train wreck that was planted early is starting to poke up thru the dirt but not quite yet. Either later tonight or by the morning we should have 1 or more babies, hopefully all tomorrow and be easy to keep track of days haha. Just playing the waiting game now..

Thanks you all for stopping in and sorry for such a long update. At least with me covering everything and giving all the info this way saves a lot of questions about the equipment :) Have a great weekend, see you all around!! :thanks:

Subbed mate..

Glad to have ya here grizz! Plants should all start taking off soon and doing something interesting :) lol

**Update Time**

Hey everyone, here with a quick update for the day on what's happening in the garden. The older girls got their first drink since transplanting as well as a clipping and readjustment. Got the younger photo girls up a little higher and we got some babies that broke ground in the last 12 hours or so. Lets have a look shall we...

Here is how everyone is sitting in the tent now, trying to keep the young ones from stretching to much in the beginning. The older ones can start stretching a little now so they are fine where they are, need to get those tops growing to wrap them around and tie em up.
SAM_4330.JPG

CB Dutch Treat
Day - 24

Still moving along, got a feeding today since it's been 8 days since the transplant. Fed at 1/2 strength on week 2 of my schedule, took 2 cups. Half strength feeding would be as follows, per gallon, 1.25ml Micro, 2.5ml Gro, 1.25ml Bloom, 0.5ml Armour Si. This gal also got the lowest node clipped off today since we wont be using it, I should have done this back when I topped it, will remember for next time.
SAM_4331.JPG

Hash Plant
Day - 24

This gal is starting to bush up a little around those lower nodes lately, I've had to move the leaves around a bit and pull them back toward the center some as well as readjust some restraints while adding in a support under the plant to help keep the main straight. Lowest node also got clipped off and she was fed the same strength feeding as dutch treat, gave 2 cups here as well.
SAM_4332.JPG

CB Dream
Day - 5

Starting to get a little bigger, working on pushing out the 2nd node but still can't visibly see any roots in the bottom of the cup. Chugging along nicely and sitting up higher, lets leave her be!
SAM_4334.JPG

Purple Kush
Day - 5

Still the wee one but getting bigger, slowly.. lol Looks healthy that's all that matters, got her set up higher as well. No visible roots in the cup yet either.
SAM_4333.JPG

Train Wreck Auto #1&2
Day - 1

Got some babies here, #1 was just pushing up dirt last night before lights out (that's why it's #1 lol) and is looking pretty healthy, spitting out the new growth! TWA #2 was just curling out of the dirt late this morning when I went to take pictures, waiting for it to curl out and open up.
SAM_4335.JPG

Revolver Auto #1&2
Day - 1

Here we have 1 baby so far, the other surely wont be far behind. I made sure the dirt was still loose around where the seed was place and I seen a nice fuzzy root poking around, covered it back up nice and light. I don't go poking around to crazy but it's nice to see that it's working down there.
SAM_4336.JPG

That's it for today.. if anyone has any questions or suggestions please feel free chat it up. Need to get some traffic in here, got a good start on things now :) Take care all!

Purple kush, is that crop king? I've got one going, it's a runt.. Just started to veg, it's one and half inches tall...

:byebye: Hi!

Some lovely nip tuck work you've got going. I'm curious though, is there a reason you bend your entire plant to one side instead of stretching out the 2 top arms like I see most others do?

It's such a shame we have to torture our girls to get the best yield from them. I wish I could just sit next to them and handfeed them little plant bonbons. Maybe give them their own TV with the nature channel on. Of course I'd censor anything too traumatic for them, like shows with caterpillars or deer. Maybe before bed I could give them a gentle foliar sponge bath and they would reward me in the morning by stretching themselves out for me. Doesn't that sound nice? :laughtwo:

:smokin2:

Looking good Dick, can't wait to see how the CK autos do.:thumb:
Thanks dirt! Me to, I am going to keep them in smaller pots so I don't have to worry about space issues since there will be 4 vegging photo's in there as well. Once they all get bigger I will space out my lights some..

Sure is, this was the smallest seed out of 5 so I decided to plant it first, it was a runt before it germinated  My plan with starting just 1 of all these photo strains is so that I can figure out how they grow and then improve on the next ones :)

Nice plants there Dick!
Thanks Canna! Glad you could make it over. Hope you're doing well!

We've got a PK reveg flowering now. Her colors are so much prettier than her mother. I can't wait until she's swollen and ready for harvest.
It really is quite the re-veg you 2 have going, that might be something I will try with one of these 4 I have going now, I will pick the best candidate out of them :)

Looking good.

Following closely.
Thanks sleepless, happy to have ya here!

Hey Fuzznutter, thanks for stopping in :) This training is something that I decided to try out on my own. I have gathered a lot of different training information and pictures and just wanted to try something that popped into my mind. These 2 that are bent over this way have been topped and I plan to wrap those 2 tops around the pot to the back. The next 2 photo's I'm growing I till top and bend the shoots back into a manifold or flux type grow.

Haha, that's something else, I do care for my plants but not to any extreme like that :) I do talk to them when I'm up there once in a while though, suppose I could play some music for them, maybe some nature noises lol

** On another note, I'd like to thank you all for stopping in this morning and leaving the kind words. It's like you all knew something was up, it sort of was.. Spent last night in the hospital with the Mrs. as she had to stay in for observation due to high blood pressure and being 39 weeks pregnant. All is fine though now, was just a strange spike and she wasn't feeling right. Baby is good and ready, the Mrs. will be induced Thursday evening if nothing happens by then :)

So, it was nice getting back home this morning and seeing all the posts from everyone. I really enjoyed it! will try and get and update done later on today for everyone, girls are happy in the garden :) Thanks everyone, what a wonderful group of people around here :circle-of-love: **

I can't wait to see how the experiment goes. And congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family!!! I'm glad your wife and baby are okay. That was probably very scary for all involved.
Me to, it's all a learning experience.

Thanks a lot, will be exciting having another one, i think.. haha This will be the last. And yes it was a little nerve racking but all is good :)

Taking a seat if you don't mind got hp and CB Dutch treat from crop kings growing right now.will be interesting to watch

Welcome darkscotia, pull up a seat where ever you can find one :) I was looking for some other journals that have completed these strains but couldn't find any, only new ones. I will pop over and have a look at yours as well though. Thanks for stopping by!

**Quick Update**

Hey folks, just dropping by with a quick update for tonight, got some pictures and a bit of news..

Both the older girl got a feeding yesterday (2 cups @ 1/2 strength) and they absolutely loved it. I compared the pictures from yesterday before feeding to the ones I just took this afternoon and there was quite the difference! Leaves looked more lifted on both and also had some node growth :)

The middle aged seedlings are getting there, slowly but surely. Dirt is starting to dry up a little on the top half, another day or 2 before any water.

The auto babies all seem to be doing ok. The last one was popped out of the dirt this morning with it's helmet still on, still having troubles shedding the other half, I couldn't help it off gently so I left it for now. They all look healthy so far, will give them some time to get their feet moving :)

On with the pictures!! Thanks everyone for stopping by today :) :thanks:
