Dick23rk's 2nd Journal - Miscellaneous Crop King Seeds Adventures

Hey there Dick! Hope the family is doing well :). The little ones are looking good! I really can't wait to see what that purple Kush does. That's a top strain on my list to try asap. Glad things are going great :)

Hey freakbudz, family is doing good so far, little less sleep than normal but we will catch up lol

I am waiting to see what that PK does as well, it was the tiniest cannabis seed I have ever planted. In the pack of 5 there was 1 big seed, 1 tiny seed and the others were normal lol

Grew cb dream. Was so beautiful . fat as can be within nice yield and amazing smell. Hypnotizing. Grows perfect like a indica. Good luck.

Thanks for stopping by uromastyx, I can't wait for both of my CBD strains to grow out, they are very vigorous growers and I love it.

May I say congratulations on fatherhood. Best of luck and godspeed! My daughter just turned 2, so it's all fresh in memory.
I'm happy to see all the little plants you got going on, once you start growing you never really want to stop ey. :)
I'll stop by from time to time. Winter is coming so you'll see me more here as I have more time to spend indoors. Also the ideal time to grow indoor ;)

Sleep what's that..lol...ur gonna be busy !!!

Thanks a lot Kundal! It's still fairly fresh with me still, this one seems easy, I already have 2 girls 4 and 5 lol Should be fun right? Haha

Nope, never really want to stop, my plan now is to keep on growing year round once I get a room built downstairs where it's cooler.

Sleep what's that..lol...ur gonna be busy !!!

Haha, I know hey, I've even been getting some sleep and still dead tired lately lol I am always busy in some way or another it seems, even if I'm on here!

**Update Time**

Hey everyone, sorry for the long absence the past week and lack of updates! Things had gotten busy with the new addition in the house along with work and life and I wanted to come here to update but I couldn't.. My computer had started acting up as well which is mostly why I couldn't even make time to do the updates, I was spending my extra time trying to get everything wiped and to get a better working version of windows installed. Got everything back to normal for now, will see how it works. Let's have a look in the garden shall we!

On top of my already spoken of issues, I was still having some heat issues and my plants were all suffering because of it. I have moved all the vegging plants back downstairs in a temporary area for the next couple of weeks until we can get a room built down there just for gardening! Hopefully the healthier ones will come around and still grow strong, the other couple who knows..

These pictures are from yesterday so I will adjust the day # for each plant to then.

**CB Dutch Treat was fed 2 days ago with 1/2 strength nute mix at week 3 feed schedule, I don't have the amounts on hand, I will post my whole feed schedule at a later date. She is still moving along despite the conditions, this one should survive fine. Hash Plant on the other hand is in hurting condition, it's still growing ever so slightly and stands tall and somewhat green, it really didn't take the heat well, lesson learned. I will continue to water it to see if it goes anywhere, no wasting here. CB Dream is looking good, got some warped leaves likely from the fans when upstairs, I will be up potting her next chance I get, she's sucking up the water and lots of roots in there. Purple Kush is coming up the back and staying close, she has taken off nicely and not showing any stress signs, good to see. Both CB Dream and PK will be topped when transplanted.

**TW#1 is really a dud, I haven't seen any roots inside the cup yet, but the top growth is still staying green and keeps standing up so I will keep watering it for now. TW#2 is showing decent growth but has also taken a little bit of heat stress with leaves curling in a couple spots. Revolver #1 and 2 are almost like twins aside from being 1 day apart, they are both growing good but not fast either. I am hoping that these 2 auto strains will go another couple of weeks before flowering but it's hard to say, they need to get growing. Once the room is built and I have proper lighting for my space in veg and flower I will continue throwing in an auto here and there, but until then I don't think it's worth it right now with my grow conditions.

Thanks all for stopping by, once again sorry for the lack of updates, I hope to be more on track here now. Lets hope that the work keeps rolling in for me so I can get to my upgrades sooner than later! Take care everyone :)

Oh my goodness! It looks like she's auditioning for a spot in some doll-house sized grow room. Maybe give Barbie and Ken a call and see if they want to make a deal. :blalol:

You sure do have your hands full right now. Most of the ladies are looking really good though. I'm sure you'll iron out all the wrinkles as soon as you have a moment to catch your breath. Like Freak said, family first. :hugs:

Thanks all, I really appreciate the kind words. It has been a bumpy road the past couple of weeks. I should have it all worked out soon, we are starting to build the room downstairs this weekend and get things ready. Framing and some electrical changes will be done this weekend, next weekend I will be picking up the drywall and some poly for over the concrete walls and to seal everything up nicely, we don't want any bugs getting in there.

Everything else is still the same in the garden for the most part. I got rid of Hash Plant since there has been no more growth that could be seen and I needed the pot anyway, I got sick of looking at her basically, the first plant I've actually killed due to grow conditions. I will also be getting rid of TW#1, she hasn't shown anymore growth either and still no roots showing in the cup, the hell with it lol. Once this room is built and we get some more equipment things should really start to take off for us :) I also have a new growing partner to help out, my brother in-law is getting in on the action now and will be joining the fun with me. It will help out a lot when it comes to trying to get things done, especially when I can't be around if something comes up.

Anyways, that's just a little bit about what's happening before I forget to let everyone know what's happening.. I will get a full update done here this weekend sometime :)

That trainwreck is a real train wreck...lol
See ur room building in the basement. .
Word of experience on my end..leave the plastic 6 inches from the floor and hang it so it's not right on the walls touching them some how..I used furring strips...if not..you Will GET mold behind the plastic...keep it so there's air flow behind it..trust me..been there done that..
Cant wait to see the finished product

**Update Time**

Hey everyone! Sorry again for the lack of updates, life has gotten pretty busy with some things going on that needed to be tended to. Needless to say my plants have also been neglected for the most part and I hate myself for it, they are still living though so that's the main thing haha. I am just taking it as it is, I didn't really want to grow in dirt indoors after growing in perlite hempy's last time. But, I will continue to try and make it work, I have a whole bale of promix hp and I'm not going to waste it, I believe I will see better results just using that for my medium though as opposed to my seedling mix which is heavier. No more seedlings will be added to the mix though until the new room is ready and under control.

Either way, my plants have not been properly taken care of for a while and they show the signs of that. The high heat temps upstairs and not so sufficient air flow were not doing these plants well, now they are downstairs waiting to go into their new room. The room should be done this weekend, drywall coming tomorrow and then will hang some white poly inside in a big enough area for the plants and up off the ground until we get some more lights and everything set up where we want it, eventually we will put a dividing wall in or something to separate flower and veg stages along with a tied in exhaust system.

Anyways, that's the rant for now about what's going on. Lets get on with some pictures and a quick bit of info.

**CB Dutch Treat has been stripped down and re-staked to bed those arms back around the pot, growth is still slow but the new leaves haven't been as affected since making the move downstairs, hopefully she pulls thru and picks up the pace. CB Dream is still a nice grower, first set of leaves were starting to yellow and was time to be up-potted along with Purple Kush. Both of them were topped and transplanted into the promix hp presoaked with a light dose of nutrients, they took it all very well.

** TW#2 is starting to look a little sad, not sure what's going on here yet but the leaf tips are pointing down, thinking it could be an oxygen issue, the pot has still got a little weight to it. Both Revolvers are coming along nicely, even though they to are staying sort and bushy I think they could have grown a lot more, they will soon be starting to flower I'm sure.

That's about it for today folks. Pretty sad looking updates lately but at least the main ones are staying green. Hash Plant and TW#1 could have just been born that way, which I'm sure the TW was. We will see how the rest of the beans I have turn out eventually and hopefully they are all good :) Thanks all for stopping in sorry I've been away so much lately.

Hey there everyone, very sorry about my absence lately, it's been a little while since I have been on. There was a much needed break from the internet life since there was so much going on in my life for a little while there. Since the arrival of our baby boy things around the homestead have been pretty hectic and busy. I have also been working a fair bit which doesn't always help. But a lot of it was mentally, I needed a break from the social side of things and just time to recoup from all that went on. So again, sorry for not being around to update you all on what's going on but I am back now and will start to get you updated over the next few days.

I will get the pictures all done up tomorrow, I should have some free time in the evening. The garden is still growing, but certainly not at a rate that I like. Not sure what's up, could just be the lack of light and conditions, I should have had my hps up and running for these plants by now but I didn't. I was really slacking.. On the plus side I got the room built downstairs now, just need to wire up a couple of plugs, create a divider for the 2 rooms (drywall is dam expensive) and also build a work station on the veg side of the room and we will be in business!

Lets go over some of the things I will talk about over the next day or 2 that have been taking place or will be taking place soon, maybe we can create some chatter and get this journal rolling again :)

-Building of the new room and the rest of the plans to come soon along with additional equipment (exhaust will be the next purchase)
-Where I will be putting all the lights for veg ( 430W HPS + T8 flouro's )
-New LED panel I ordered last night that will be here mid November .. I won't tell you what it is yet, but it's BIG :):):) Dam I hope it works well, if it does we will be buying another 1 to cover the whole flower room, it's main footprint is 5' x 3.5' and max coverage says about 6' x 5'..
-My plan to go back to hempy buckets with perlite for the majority of our plants.. I had much better success last grow, not sure what it was I did right or what I'm doing wrong now, but I'm glad I found some perlite online. I cost an arm and a leg mostly because of shipping but I will be sure to use it as many time as possible, I ordered 2 x 110 liter bags!
-I will have to update you on all the plants, we are missing 1 more, it just couldn't come back out of the heat stress.. and 1 other that still looks sad but all the others are alive and healthy, just not growing fast at all!! Once my perlite gets here I will start germinating more seeds and my partner plans to buy some more Crop King seeds that we don't have yet and would like to try. Eventually we will try some other breeders to.

That's pretty much what we will go over once I get updating tomorrow after work. Feel free to ask some questions or whatever until then if you'd like, but I'm not telling you what the new light is haha. Thanks to those who are still here and haven't deleted their subscription yet :)

**Finally an Update!!**

Hey again everyone, finally here with that update I promised. I'm still very busy trying to get this, that and the other thing done among the every day stuff and life. Still working on the room slowly, I get a couple small things done every night. Hopefully over the weekend if I don't work to late I can get some more done in there and get things ready for the new light arrival next week :) So lets get down to business and see whats going on here..

Lets start with the building of the room.. We built this so it can be easily taken down, all done with screws.
We constructed 2x4 walls, shimmed it all up and foam filled the cracks to help keep pests out.. Eventually we will stuff insulation between the floor joists and the wall frame to seal out light and then poly the roof. The room is 12' x 10' and divided into 2 - 6' x 10' rooms, the divider will just be 2x4's and black/white poly. I am working on drawing it all up on microsoft paint, will post it when I am done and stop making changes lol One side of the room will be for flowering only and the other will be veg and work station (will get some pics once I'm done)

As for lighting.. I am thinking that I can use 1xT8 fixture for my seedlings, maybe I will mount this to one of the shelves I have above the workstation, and then I can use the 2nd one for lighting my work station. My 2xT5's will be for supplemental lighting in the veg area I think which will be in there along with my 430W HPS until I can get a conversion bulb or switchable ballast for MH.
And here is the BIG news I'm sure some of you have been waiting for.. The new LED panel that will be arriving next week :) I am sure it is a knock off of a very popular brand we all know, but the price was right and the coverage along with wattage draw was more than acceptable in my books. If this light performs well we will be buying a 2nd one for the other half of the flower room.

Now.. what was next?? Oh yes, hempy's.. I have 2x110 liter bags of perlite on the way right now and as soon as it's here, rinsed and ready to go we will start popping some more beans. This perlite will be getting used a few times over for sure, the shipping cost me almost as much as the perlite did, and that was $35 a bag. I will be picking up some 3 gallon buckets to use for the autoflowering strains and will use the 5 gallon buckets I already have for the photoperiod plants, good thing I got 2 bags. I will also make some minor improvements to the buckets such as screens on the drain holes and will also search for something to set under them that can take up all the waste water when fed. All in due time though, still a ways to go :)

**Hmmm, time for a little break here before getting on to the plants.. :tokin: **

Ok, now time for the green ladies.. We have lost some plants since we started, a dud plant, a plant with low heat tolerance, and then another that just seemed to be dying which I ruled out to being root issues. So I lost CB Dutch Treat, Hash Plant, and Train Wreck #1 (dud) Lets get on with the pics and a tid bit of info..

**CB Dream is acting out as the healthiest plant so far, she's really sucking up the feedings and has made it show with the last one. She will have the bottom node stripped off, I might try my hand at cloning with those 2 branches. I am still deciding whether or not to top my 4 tops again to make 8 tops, hmm decisions..
Purple Kush is growing short and bushy, I kind of expected this to happen since is sprouted. I will likely strip the lowest growth off this one as well to focus more energy to the top but will leave it alone after that.

**All 3 auto's have shown sex now, just waiting for the flowering stretch and some bud sites, they are gonna be small unfortunately. They will all be placed under the hps light very soon with T5's on the sides.
Train Wreck #2 is sort of a wreck still. I let this pot dry right out, almost 2 weeks I think until it showed signs of needing water, but it still has the clawed leaves and hasn't changed. I did notice it shot up an inch or so after feeding it the other night though, so it's still growing.
Revolver #1 and #2 are pretty much alike, they are even both growing on an angle. Still looking healthy though that's what counts i guess.

That's it for today. I hope these plants start pulling thru.. The next round should be better with the hempy buckets. I will keep trying the dirt as well.
Thanks all for stopping in, lets get back to regular updates!!:thanks:

Hey buddy!! Long time no see! .. First off, all the best with the family :) I hope things are going great with the new addition :). Second, Im very interested in how that light performs as Ive been looking at their smaller ones for a while now. Im glad to see we still have growth and green in your world!! ... Missed ya man!!

Thanks a lot freakbudz, the kind words are greatly appreciated over here. Things are going pretty good here with the baby, few bumps in the road and less sleep for both of us but we are certainly managing. The first one was easy, it was only her, but now she's 4 plus we have the baby lol.

I am very interested as well to see how this light does.. I got it half price so it's not so bad even though the regular price on it seemed high. Got it for $475 CDN and free shipping, it looks big and bad, lets hope it's worth it. Drawing about 568W from the wall compared to the biggest mars reflector (192) which is drawing only about 410W from the wall. The meizhi reflector puts out almost 43,000 lumens while the mars 192 puts out about 22,000. Coverage area is also a little bigger with this one since the panel is longer. All in all I am getting a bigger panel, more wattage, coverage, lumens, same warranty for roughly the same price as the mars 192 on their website. $475 for meizhi and $458 for mars. (No worries, I am not crapping on mars by any means! They are a very popular and reputable brand, I just thought I would give this other china brand the benefit of the doubt and try it out. Maybe some day I will compare a mars panel to it :) )
