Dennise - No Longer The Newest Of Newbies - Not Growing In MG - Perpetual

Well my new light got here... it is a Twilight 864w panel... pretty sturdy thing but i've got to get in touch with Jason cause I thought it was just a red and white spectrum light but there is most cetainly blue and green and I think even a few orange and IR's... don't get me wrong... :thedoubletake: I'm not complaining... I hope it is a fuller spectrum but I put it in the tent with the spider4 and man...:yahoo: it is bright... but I don't know about the spectrum and if I take out the spider4 will it need something else... IDK I just need to talk to Jason and then figure it out from there but heat is an issue with both of them in the tent... not a major one and I can control it but it would most certainly be enough wattage if there is enough spectrum...:scratchinghead: Any how the Barney's Blue Cheese and the Pineapple Chunk are both under the Twilights and are 2 days in flower.... the auto Red Devil "Dalielle" (29 days old) is under the Mars Hydro 48x3w and 96x3w reflectors and both the new babies were put under there today too... the auto AK47 and the reg. Sooo it's a Twilight 864 watt panel... 525 actual draw so I'm thinking that should be all I need in the 2'3" tent... :)..
:circle-of-love:

Ya, almost 90w/sqft? ... should be enough light. :slide:

Now you only have to figure out the heat and headroom part.

I have 2 fans and filters... I just don't have them hooked up and it doesn't look like I'm going to need them... and aas far as head rom... it doesn't take anymore height then the M-H does... actually a little less and I do a lot of LST so my girls are not very tall... I actually have them on stands right now that are about 2 feet tall so there is about 3.5' they can grow before I would even have to break a sweat... I did get the specs from Jason and it is a full spectrum light...:yahoo: they had only shown 2 of these lights available and they were a red/white spectrum only for bloom... it was free... I was OK with that... When it got here and I plugged it in... there are a bunch of colors so when I talked to Jason he said they had found a 3rd one and it was a full spectrum and that is the one he sent me... Yea...:yahoo: So I took the Spider4 out of the tent... Makes life a lot easier and I think this will work famously... With just the new light in there I'm not even going to have to put the fan and filter back in the tent....:high-five:.....:circle-of-love:

INTRODUCING THE 7-BAND LED PANEL! HIGH POWER 3-WATT LED CHIPS! 864 watts of LED POWER! This is the newest of the new, the 7-Band LED Grow Light. This is a powerful grow light that will grow great plants from start to finish! BETTER THAN THE REST!

BRIGHTER / HIGHER OUTPUT - The 7-BAND LED PANEL utilizes 288 THREE-WATT LED CHIPS for unsurpassed light intensity - this is one SUPER BRIGHT LED GROW LIGHT! This is MORE POWER for increased plant growth! Beware of other 1-watt LED chips as they do not possess the light intensity needed for vigourous plant growth and hardy plant development.

WIDER SPECTRUM - The 7-BAND LED PANEL has SEVEN LIGHT SPECTRUMS to help your plants grow to their full potential! 660nm Deep Red for Chlorophyll A, 630nm Bright Red for Chlorophyll B, 460nm Bright Blue for Chlorophyll B, 430nm Deep Blue for Chlorophyll A, 10,000 Kelvin White/Blue spectrum to fill out a complete light spectrum needed for plants to grow properly, 390 nm UV Light and 850nm InfraRed (IR) Spectrum for VIGOR and Mold/Mildew Prevention.

LED EFFICEINCY - Compared to standard fluorescent and high intensity discharge (HID) grow lighting technology, the 7-BAND LED PANEL offers lower energy consumption and higher watt-to-plant growth ratios. This means it uses less electricity to grow plants than other common sources because the light spectrums on the 7-BAND LED PANEL are custom tailored for plant growth! LED Diodes operate at a 90 degree angle.

LOW HEAT - The 7-BAND LED PANEL emits much less heat than traditional grow light sources (floro,HID,etc) creating a much more efficient and manageable indoor garden.
Low Profile: 20"x12"x3 1/8"
6' grounded power cord
Wire hanging kit included................:circle-of-love:

Seems like a lot of LED chips in a small space, I would have thought heat at the LED's would be a problem be watching this grow close. Good Luck should be entertaining.

Actually this is the link that Jason sent me on the spectrum and this one says it is 9 band but it is a lower wattage light and I can't find the 864w listed but I googled the light I have and that is where I got the 7 band info... so I'm not sure if it is 7 or 9 band but this is the 300w light that is supposed to be the smaller version of this light... Hell IDK.......

I didn't know you had to run the AC all the time. I forgot about living down south after all this time. Is there any portion of the year you can grow without it?

Good morning, er afternoon High Tech Light Lady!
Bob ;)

:passitleft: High Doc... Yea during the winter I don't need it back in that room... I can just cut the vent off and it is fine but once it is over ~ 70 I have to run it during the day and until it drops to the 50's at night... Then once summer hits... it's nonstop... but to be honest with ya... it had been so long since I had used a window unit I had it in my head it was going to make my utility bill double...:thedoubletake: apparently they are a lot more energy effecient now... and I haven't noticed a difference in my utility bill what so ever.... actually when I first put it in my bill went down cause I kept the whole house really cold to keep that room cool enough... Girlz gotta do what a girlz gotta do... but now during the summer you don't have to wear your thermals in the house...:yikes:....:circle-of-love:

And p.s. the light is still running a steady 77 degrees with the tent closed up and the M-H is still running 2 degrees warmer with 450 watts of light vs the 864 watts... Now do not get me wrong... I am in no way complaining about the heat with my MH's at all... I am just shocked that the Twilight is not running hotter...:yikes: My reflectors... and that's what I have in that tent... a 96x3w and a 48x3w totaling 450 watts and ~ 300 true watts from the wall and the Twilight is ~ 500 true watts from the wall... so it's passed the heat test IMO so now if it will just grow some big ole buds... I'll be a happy camper...:yahoo:....:circle-of-love:
